We lose 100 species every day and 4 species per hour, due to this deforestation. At current rates, 5-10% of rain forest species will become extinct every decade. And over 50% of the Earth's species live in rain forests. About 50% of those mammals and 25% of those bird species in Malaysia will become extinct by the year 2020. 90% of all primates - our evolutionary cousins, live in these rainforests. And about 1% of humans care.
