shoot through on compounds
My engineering mind (not however very experienced in archery) suggests me, that shoot through system is in fact more mechanically sound approach. One can for instance see older pictures of very good archer Simon Tarplee using it. However in his newer pictures he is not using it anymore. Also his sponsoring company Merlin Bows seems to advertise new bows mostly with a cable guard. I therefore wander if someone has done some research on the following two questions?

1. Under which brace heights (for average adult man) becomes shoot through system so interfering with the bow arm that its use is in fact not possible any more?

2. Are there any hidden mechanical problems with shoot through design, which are not obvious to the mind which always seek engineering solutions to be as nearlly symmetric as possible, that in fact make such bow less precise that a bow equipped with a cable guard?
