pygmy management
As a breeder of pygmies for over 17 years now, I just wanted to provide some insight on the breed's maintenance...whether you have these great miniature goats as pets or show animals..please remember the importance of annual vaccinations of CDT and BoSe (if in a selenium-deficient area),regular deworming, and periodic hoof trimming. Also in my opinion, a goat-specific loose mineral offered free choice is VERY important. Good quality hay (a mix of alfalfa/grass is best) and very little (unsweetened) grain unless you have a pregnant/lactating doe, is all that's really necessary to keeping your goats healthy.

Re: pygmy management
i have only had pygmy goats since about december. After my pygmy had her kid, we tried to milk her. We ended up leaving the kid on her, but now we are about to wean the baby. The goat keeps laying down on the stantion.. How do we avoid this problem??
