delers are a problem worldwide!
Just dont get me started on the broader issues Buddah ! What have you had happen which has pissed you off ! I will tell if you do ! What about starting with alldata updates, when the manufacturers identify a problem with a model and send a service bulletin update, does it get done ? Too many issues to cover. Having worked for a dealerhip in the 70's (responible dealer who did updates and service bulletins) and working in a three bay workshop in the 80's, I like most people these days find an independent to do the services and just go back for ya warrantee work. You can pull your service buletins and service updates from many places on the web and give your independent instructions on what they are, or take it to the dealer for these as well, they should be free ! Other than these issues I find the dealers just do the best they can, after all these days how many dealers out there which just sell one brand of vehicle? Usually they sell about four or five brands and the biggest brand they sell will determine what oils and fluids go in yours if it is not that brand ! I wanted mopar in mine but apparently it got Nissan !

Having worked on both sides of the industry, I am going to defend both sides.
Those who know me know that I am not one to lay down and take it with a smile.
I have had many dealings with various dealers when I owned another brand and each time there where a few hoops to jump through, but in the end problems where fixed.
Warranty work is honored by the dealer as they are the guy's who let you buy the vehicle of them, they are not the guy's who built it but they are the front line when it comes to dealing with the pubics. It is a fine line they tread and they sometimes have to honor that work out of their own pockets.
I suggest that if you are having problems you speak with the dealers service manager and work things out in a reasonable manner. At the end of the day this will get you a lot further than ranting and raving.
I also support what Wooders has to say about doing the basic work yourself, that way you can save your hard earned $$$$$ for mods and the major services.
If you cannot come to an agreable outcome with whomever you are dealing with, may I suggest you let sleeping dogs lye and try another workshop.
The other thing to remember is this world is becoming very litagous and you're likely to get your arse sued for breach of character ;-P
My 2 cents worth.
Just another ACTJeep TrAction yobo in a big red CJ7.

dealership issues
well where should one start with teh dealership i bought mine from ! talk abouyt absolute assholes from day two
had many issues with the sterring box that was ready to fall out of the cherokee no sir there is nothing wrong with it and after many time of taking it back and threating to put it through the dealership front window i took it to a indepentant sterring specialist and found out there was the this steering box issue god did they know about when i got back to that dealership and drag the service manger and the dezaler princple into it as well hence it was finally repaired !! a few weeks later the radiator split intwo and had it towed back to the dealership and was told that it was covered by warrenty and thought to my self ok cool and when i went to pick it up was told it would cost me $700.00 to get the keys back for it and i said it was under warranty and was told that because i had a small dent in the front bar that i caused the radiator to split and it was all my fault so i paid the monie and the next day went off my head about it as the cherokee is a 4wd and a bull bar fitted to it should be able to with stand a small impact as the one that i had done and if that was the case and an inpact like that would cause the radiator to split i di not want this cherokee and wanted my money back as that is not a good thing to have let alone if you go out in the bush and tap a tree or what ever else and your radiator splits then your stuffed any way after many days of going off about this matter i was sent a check from them for a $2oo.00 as a good will gesture !!!! now that is just not good business practice for any dealership and have informed every body that i cum into contact with both personally and through work ( after market automotive spares ) not to go any where that dealership and not to have any repair or service work done there !! that will teach them hahhahaha this dealership would be "LEO MULLER AT ALBION AND GREENSLOPES " gold coast jeep is the better one of all the dealership in the greater brisbane area but now we have a new one at redcliffe so it will be intresting on its next service vist there !!!!!
