Character's Subspecie: Timber Wolf

History: Kenshin was three monthes old when his mother abandoned him and his two younger sisters. His father was killed by a bear a while after his mother left them and their pack had scattered. His one younger sister drowned, and the other went off and found her own pack. Kenshin continued travelling. A short while after his sister drowned, some hunters found him, and shot him twice- once at the ear, tearing it to shreds and a second time in the eye- making him go blind. The hunters caught him, and took them aboard their ship, only for it to be shipwrecked a short ways away from the Subtle Remorse Pack area.
Personality: Laid back, at ease, charming, brave, at hone with his senses.

Padded paws brought Kenshin through the dark, a large body closely following. The glare of the moon set barely a light 'pon Kenshin's fur as he moved through the night. His one eye surveyed his surroundings as he clawed the dirt nervously. He had always been afraid of this. Being alone in the middle of the night, no one else there with him. It was his blind eye that always troubled him. He always thought some predator would attack him from the side that he could not see them, and that would be the end of him.

But it hadn't happened yet. Kenshin was still here, his scars throbbing as badly as ever. He rubbed his face on the grass, trying to get rif of the ebbing pain, but that only made it worse. He frowned and decided to see if there was a river or stream nearby.

Kenshin loped minlessly, searching and trying to hear or see if there was a source of water nearby. He reached into his pool of magic, reaching out with it, covering the lands and searching to see if there was any water. There was, and he was headed in the wrong direction. Kenshin doubled over and continued back from where he had come.

At last, he reached the promised water, and flopped onto the ground, exhausted. He drank greedily, finally realizing how hungry he was. He lay down, wondering if there was any game nearby. His stomach grumbled it's protest, and he clamped his paws over his ears, trying to drive out the sound.

Re: icey comings [sr]
Tiny footsteps, unheard by most and unseen by all, struck through the sylvan region. The fae, a small wolven sort of creature with an inept sense of smell, was hot on the trail of some unknown canid -- a newcomer! Her whole mind writhed at the thought of it. It had been almost one whole month since she had told Kalm that she was giving up her place in Diabolic Core to seek another pack-family, a place among more righteous creatures. Kalm's intentions were dark to the wolfess, even though he had practically raised her as his own since that stormy night he had took her into the Core. Having no one else to turn to, she had willingly gone with him. And he had named her Evane.

Her one magical ability was camoflage, and what a gift it was -- it allowed her to move invisibly throughout the many territories, easily keeping tabs on the Core's well-being. She didn't ignore the fact that many of the pack's former patrons had gone their seperate ways, and that Kalm, too, was apt for newbies. Their one lure was the thrill of being evil, and it was so successful that for a long time, Evane thought she would never win any of them over to her side. But today proved her wrong. Today she would gain a pack member.

As she drew near the stream, she could see a male's figure reclined nearby. Evane, having always been keenly in touch with her elemental side, nearly lost her temper to the fact that he had been at her water. Her water! Sure, she liked to maintain a countenance that said, "Look at me, I'm perfect and pure," but it never lasted very long. As her packmates would soon learn, Evane was nice for the first few days until your welcome wore off. From then on, you'd have to earn your keep and her respect, and until then, she was apt to be "a right handful of sassy beast" as quoted by some of the more easygoing forest animals. For the moment, she would say nothing of her camoflage ability until she learned of the other's powers. If he could read minds, she would confess everything he sought before he could conclude that she was hiding something.

She slid through the bushes, although she couldn't help the crackling noise that would indefinitely give her away in the end, and approached the stranger. "Toppa t'mornin to ye, me friend," Evane trilled, her voice falling soft but lively on her own ears - just as it ought have. "Can I help ye with anythin', p'raps?" Inwardly, she bottled her own excitement, and prayed for luck and wisdom. If not Kalm, she needed some other form of life to show her the way - a spirit would do just fine.

Re: icey comings [sr]
Kenshin shut his eyes harder, and pressed down even harder on his ears with his large paws. His stomach grumbled a complaint again, and he removed his paws from his ears to clutch his aching stomach. Kenshin shuddered again, and winced as he heard ice crackled nearby.

Kenshin clawed at the cold earth with his back legs, and rubbed his nose in the dirt, quite annoyed at himself for not hunting any time sooner. He finally convinced himeself to get up, just before seeing another wolf approach him.

Toppa t'mornin to ye, me friend. Can I help ye with anythin', p'raps? Kenshin wondered how to answer the other wolf. "Well, I'm sure you know why I'm here on the borderlands," he drawled. "I was a-looking to join a pack. Yours im s'possing. I'm also looking for a decent meal..." He grinned at this, not haven eaten for two days. His last meal consisted of a mouse and a bony rabbit. Kenshin turned his head some, and positioned his body, that way he could see the newcomer. He watched her warily with his one blue eye. Many thought he was blind in both eyes- one eye was a pure white, and the other had such a light blue, it was hard to tell which one he was blind with. Oddly enough, his pupil was a ghostly white colour.

This other wolf was an alpha after all- he couldn't ever be too careful, especially with a useless eye and an empty stomach. Kenshin dug his claws into the earth, and tensed his muscles- ready to flee at any moment should he feel the need. Kenshin wasn't a very trusting wolf, even once he got to know someone. He felt there was always a part of him that couldn't open up and be himself. He blamed it on his eye. And the hunters. The two-leggers... terrible things... they were planning on killing him to hang his head 'pon a telephone pole as opposition to the hunting laws. Kenshin could remember the events well.

Re: icey comings [sr]
The female cocked her head curiously as she listened to the elder male. What was with his eyes? Was he blind? Questions swarmed her mind, but she voiced none of them; to do so would mean insolence, rudeness, a persona she did not want this other wolf to perceive as her true self. In the meantime, she drew ever nearer, not in a menacing way, but rather in the sort of inquisitive nature that one might see as one would see a small child approaching a foreign object.

"Aye, I be alphess a' Subtle Remorse," she confirmed. "Ye seem a fair sort a' sir, if'n I mey sey so m'self, an' there always be room for another in me clan. I'd be happy to add ye to our numbers." She sized him up for a minute, giving him a careful once-over, before finally adding, "Ye look a fine delta-sort wolf. Welcome to paradese."
