we managed to avoid much damage from the falling tree, but our vegetable garden was planted in a spot under the damage to the wall. Most of our plants were damaged and some destroyed by the repair efforts to the house. The ones that were't crushed and broken by the scaffolding that had to be placed there got covered in paint, so much for all those fresh vine-ripe tomatoes.

Hi guyeub...........it's really great to see you here.
But really bad what happened to your garden. I sure can relate. Three seasons ago.....in July, my garden was one of the best ever. The cauliflower was huge as was everything..........then along came some clouds and were they full of lovley rain? NOOOOOOOO! the biggest hail I have ever seen.........it defoliated all our trees, bushes, flower garden, veggie garden.......I took pictures......I'll get one on asap......it was devastating, but amazing........ such power coming down from those clouds.....
Don't feel bad about this year.........you are in good company. I wasn't able to get a garden in .........except for a very little bit and the bind weed is busy taking over and I haven't the energy to battle it, I have pulled and chopped and tilled, then the rain finally came and I have to do it all over again........but I must push myself to get to it or next year will be terrible......all, for the love of fresh homegrown veggies.
