Re: Should the Mets fire Bobby Valentine?
They wouldn't do that. He's too low down on the organizational totem pole. He has to move up through the ranks. If he wern't part of the organization already that wouldn't apply, but that's politics.

Wally was a gutsy, motivated player. He's getting good results managing A ball. He might inspire players. Bobby is showing us just what his record suggests, a .514 winning %. He's a guy who wins a bit more than he loses, nothing more. If you love this team, and you want to see it win, get rid of him 1st, before you worry about trades.
Re: Should the Mets fire Bobby Valentine?
You know Iwas listening to Showalter on Baseball tonight and he said something that I respected... "When I managed the Yankees, if a guy hit it down the LF line you had to get up in the duggout and look to see if it was going to make it out. If a guy didn't stand up that showed me he didn't care about the game." I don't know if Showalter would be the answer (I've never liked him), but that is the mindset our manager has to have with this team. Bobby doesn't have that.

Let's face it, Jeremy, there's a few things he doesn't have.

Re: Should the Mets fire Bobby Valentine?
These veteran stars need a guy whom they respect enough to listen to, but not tough enough for them to hate. That's what I think the problem with BV is. The way he juggles things constantly, he gives more the impression of a little kid messing around with his chemistry set, than a pro who KNOWS what he's doing and why.
