Way too much information... Although I guess pherhemones (I have no idea how to spell that) come in many forms; we just can't smell them... That's a good thing, right? Personally, I don't think it really matters if Angua and Carrot have puppies or normal kids. It might to Angua, but I can see Carrot frolicking accross the floor, proudly showing wolf pups how to corner criminals. It might turn a few heads in Ankh Morpork though. Oh well, everyone needs to be shaken up sometime.

Sonkies
The passage i was thinking of is when carrot arrives at Vimes' house to tell him about Mr Sonky's death:
Vimes: 'Who'd want to do away with him?'
'People do have Views, sir,' said Carrot coldly.
Yes you do, don't you? Vimes thought Dwarfs don't hold with that sort of thing.
It stuck in my head because I'd never thought of dwarfs that way... but then the whole book does reveal a lot of new stuff about their customs.

re Carrot and Angua
I don't think Carrot and Angua will ever get married. I don't think they understand each other well enough to get around to it.
Apart from that, Carrot is a dwarf, albeit by adoption. Would he marry a non-dwarf? "Deer Mume & Dadde, I am riting, to telle you that, Yesterdaye I, gotte Married...."
I don't see it, really.
Re the Sonkies: I think Angua would insist on them.

Re: re Carrot and Angua
I think you're right there.... I can't really see them married with kids (pups?)... and I certainly can't see either angua staying home to look after the... young ones... or Carrot giving up the Watch and the City to do so.
On the other hand, I can't see them splitting up... she wouldn't leave Carrot, and if she did Carrot would get her back, somehow.
Maybe death is the only way of sorting things out...
Btw, I don't really see a problem with dwarfs marrying none dwarfs... not modern dwarfs, anyway- I've never got the impression that was a taboo thing. It certainly never botherd Cassanunder (although he is an exception) and it was mentioned somewhere that Nanny Ogg has dwarfish blood in her ancestry (although that may not have been entirely serious). I'm not sure if they're capable of human/dwarf crossbreeding... but there are half elves on the disc who have presumably bred with humans.

Re: re Carrot and Angua
"Death is the only way of sorting things out?" Why, that's a dark thought ^_^ But I guess I see your point. Likely they won't ever get married; I think both enjoy the current relationship that they have. I don't think that Carrot would mind marrying Angua, but Angua would be more comfortable with her freedom. She has those urges to run away sometimes and I think that if she were in a commitment like marriage, she really would end up running. Since Carrot is such a nice guy/dwarf, I think he'll understand and sort of go with the flow.
I agree that it wouldn't be 'taboo' for Carrot to marry her, though. Carrot's father was talking about him going out among his own kind; I think they'd be quite happy for him.

Re: re Carrot and Angua
Hmmmm.... I dunno. I think Carrot understands Angua probably better than she does, we tend to see him as this kind of big friendly giant type but he's got a lot more going on between his ears than people tend to give him credit for. Although this does mostly come out in the later books. I agree that she needs her freedom and I'm guessing that's why he hasn't popped the question yet though I do think he will (possible runaway bride type scenario?). If the dwarf thing was really a problem for him it would never have lasted this long. As for kids/puppies I think it'd most likely be along the lines of Ludmilla, Mrs Cake's daughter from Reaper Man. She follows the normal werewolf pattern but doesn't completely change - I think Mrs Cake made reference to an ancestor having to eat meals ~under~ the table but both Ludmilla's parents were human. (sorry, the only Discworld novels I haven't read are Wee Free Men and Monstrous Regiment 'cos they're not out in paperback here yet, I'm not a know-it-all really! )
