Re: Random Thoughts of the Day
Snow is over rated! After college I'm moving some place with limited snow- AND NO ONE'S GONNA STOP ME. People always ask- Why do you live here is you hate the snow? Hmmm, let's think shall we? I'm 17- I have no choice.
.
And, for anyone who's interested- you can sled without snow and in the summer I might add. Yes, it has been done and no, I don't want to talk about it.
.
Speaking of reclaiming childhood- who remembers those evil snow suits for toddlers- the ones so big and poofy you fell over if you tried to move? Maybe this is where my aversion to snow stems from- too many facefulls of snow at a young age....
.
You know, cold weather and snow wouldn't be so bad if we actually got days off school for it!!!!! 12 years and maybe 2 whole snow days plus one broken boiler and one incident with the library roof. A whopping total of 4 days off due to extreme weather.
Re: Random Thoughts of the Day
Yeah, why is it that whenever everyone else has school off we still have to go? And yes I remember those icky snowsuits but I actually didn't feel that bad in them, they were just beasts to put on (and very dificult to move in)
.
Why is it that every school I've been in has had the roof bown off when I was there? In elementary school it was after a spring tornado, and in middle school it was the library becuase off high winds. HS better watch out, I've only got a semester left..
.
You can sled in the summer if you sit on top of a giant block of ice on a hill. You get wet and fall off a lot but it works. I want to hear more about your escapade, Phoenix.

Re: Random Thoughts of the Day
That was funny about the library...
Anyway, I'm telling you it is possible to sled in the summer, provided you have a really steep hill. Plus, if you wipe out, you don't get a facefull of snow, you just roll the rest of the way down. It's fun.

A faceful of dirt and rocks is not preferrable to one of only snow, in my opinion...

Didn't you ever roll down a hill when you were little?
My oldest sister (who was 25 when she said this I might add), once told me how fun it is to run out in the mud when it's pooring rain. I can't say I've tried this.

Oh, I have! It's also fun to just stand out in the rain. If you feel really into it you can be Gene Kelley and start signing while dancing around poles and in puddles ^_^

Er- probably not, but it's basically the same thing isn't it? When I was in England a couple people were channel surfing at the hotel and found a rugby game. That was brutal! I though football was bad!

YAY! I'm back again, after about 2 -3 weeks of being SO DAMNED BUSY that i haven't had time to post.
I didn't make the role, of dracula but i did get "father O'Stake" the irish priest, which is semi lead - but no singing.... oh well, i get to do some cool gregorian chanty stuff, so i guess that will have to do.
hmm... to the matter at hand.. snow
i have never really seen snow properly.... its meant to be quite prominent down south, but way up here in auckland, it never snows......Scarlet, u think u get it hard with so few days off school. We never get any off, ever.
snow men would be cool to make.... oh well. maybe when i get some spare cash i can travel down country
p.s. our southerners are kinda like the american opinion of southerners - kinda thick, kinda rough, really like their beer :P

Southerners
Hmm... southerners in the UK don't have that reputation. Admittedly Shadwell thought southern pansies had some sort of reputation, but not that one.
The island is a bit small to make sweeping statements about a region. Its pretty much impossible to go more than 20 miles from where I live without getting wet feet. Although there are a few things I could say about people from Peel....

Oh my, Shadewell!!! That was a hilarious part-- about him standing on the north pole by inference.
Don't people get days off for extreme heat or anything? Oh no, you all probably have air conditioning at school. It will be horrible this spring with the heat and 8th hour study hall. I JUST WANT SCHOOL TO END. This coming from the person who swore she'd never succumb to senioritis.
As far as making snowmen... it's a pain in the butt. You can't make snow sculptures with just any snow. Oh no, no, no. It has to be the good packing snow wich consequently leaves you sopping wet.

Well, I've quickly passed from senior to freshman... gar
My random thought: Our class president was an IDIOT and should have never been allowed to give a speech. But I'm now free of that school and got through it without the principal ever knowing who I was (he reads the yearbooks!) so it wasn't a total loss.

umm... is that an achievement worthy of congratulations?... did it involve passing of exams.. or 'mere' survival?... does that mean you're now on your way to uni?... anyway, if it is appropriate, "well done"
rob, wondering how the whole 'class presodent' thing works
