I'm also a New Zealander, same town and school as Squirel52 aged 16 also. I'm decidedly *very* left-wing politically, and class myself as an agnostic/atheist depending on what kind of mood I'm in and who I'm debating against. I actively believe that George W. Bush (probably the other George Bush, too) should have something nasty done to him for not realising that humans can live outside of the USA too. Poor, defenseless, unarmed Afghani civilians. Now dead, of course... Damn cluster munitions and DU.
Anyway, I play the Euphonium (Bb) and this year and last year took part in the National Secondary Schools Brass Band. I'm also a member of the Manurewa High School Concert Band, which is kind of renowned for kicking ass wherever they go. We deserve the capital letters. I also enjoy acting, and can be convinced to sing, particularly if it helps me to get a lead role. My skill at drawing extends to the point where I can do some nice 3-point diminishing perspective renders of small city blocks. They are not tough, if you know Y10 Graphics.
I am the only male child in a family with 4 children, so I'm rather outnumbered. As a kind of cosmic self-defense, in public I am one of the most incredibly female guys you will ever meet. Most girls who know me well don't actually think of me as a guy. Very odd situation to be in. It's also influenced me politically to the point where I'm *very* feministic in my outlook.
In any free time I have between all of this, I am a high school student, doing Maths with stats, English, Music, Horticulture, and general science. I intend one day to genetically engineer the flying carrot, and the 6-legged chicken (drumsticks for the entire family, see?) Oh, I also debate about anything and everything, including the modifications that would need to be made to battery farms if anyone ever engineered a boneless chicken.
I got addicted to Terry Pratchett about 5 years ago, assimilating one of my mother's characteristics. I find that in New Zealand, Terry Pratchett fans are one of the most densely clustered commodities that one can find. We have *lots.* My favourite Pratchett quote would have to be "If complete and utter chaos were lightning, he'd be the sort to stand on a hilltop in a thunderstorm wearing wet copper armour and shouting 'All gods are bastards;'" Unless it's "In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded"
*many parts of the previous spiel may have been exaggerated to make the narrator seem a better person*
Notwithstanding all of this, the definition of virgin wool is still "wool from a sheep which can still outrun a shepherd"
The Broken Drum (You can't beat it)
p.s. Sorry about the length of this post. I didn't realise that my touch-typing speed had increased as much as it has. Wow.
I'm a freak, an aggrivation. It seems I made the right decision.
Another very boring Wisconsinite obsessed with books, art, and mythology (Greek this time though!) coming to join this wonderful group of soft footed, law-abiding thieves. I'm also friends with that Phoenix person and Mrs what’s-her-name and I see that they have already made a most unwelcoming preface to my introduction. (thanks so much guys!)
I love all types of ancient stories (hence the gorgon- Medusa turned people to stone but she had two sisters who were just well… gorgons) and sculpting interesting creations from books, legends, and my good old imagination. Gosh, it seems like we all have a cultural obsession here, maybe we should start an exchange program or something. My dream job would be working for National Geographic, writing, editing, taking pictures, anything where I would be able to travel. I also love animals and used to work at the humane society here, but now am at home taking care of my two kittens Bijoux and Rambo. On a side note SPF’s dog really is psycho, one of the hounds of hell placed on earth to keep humanity in check…. But he does like cheese.
I'm new to TP books (introduced by your very own Patrician and Commandress) and am reading every chance I get. I would love for more people in the States to pick them up but, as most people have stated already, Americans are often quite stupid and frustrating. (but loveable, like an old bull dog) Kudos to whoever posted negative comments about our Pres... he is one of three people in the world who give me the willies. (like a Hitler without the armband, *shuddder*)
I’m really exited about the coat of arms idea and I think that the colors might be stated in one of the parade scenes with what the leaders of the guilds are wearing, although I’m not sure. The Fools guild coat of arms can be found at colors and all. Even though we are defineately above the fools should we stoop and relay the information?
Wow, this is getting LONG! Must go and finish homework,

You again...
Thanks, gorgon, I appreciate that you actually know my name here. Well, I think you'll fit nicely into this little board for the insane. I am also glad that you agree Riley is most likely from the deep pits of fire and brimstone and I'll bet you agree with me that that's prob'ly where Loughney takes his summer vacations as well.
Wow, you never told me that you wanted to work for National Geographic I feel hurt and left out! Well, you can come and photograph me in Egypt after I become an Egyptologist (knock on wood).
I'm a Republican, I guess, but I wouldn't say I'm a Bush 'fan.' But, seriously, Gore gave me bad vibes before!

Ok ok, so my dog's a bit crazy. Maybe we just should have named him Dog.
How much president bashing can we do here? There will always be people against politicians, but I can't say I'm a big fan of him either. NZ is looking pretty good right now

hi irene. welcome, comiserations for being american.
i thought Clinton was the president who gave people the willies.... or was that cigars? anyway, who are the other two?
I've done some checking and found that the heraldric colours (note spelling ) are argent and sable are silver and black, respectively.
I'm not a vegitarian.
rob, glad that homework is now a thing that happens to other people
Re: Greetings!
Thanks for the welcome Rob! I've been badgered so long to come I wondered if there would be a dunce cap for me...
The other two people who give me shivers (mind you, I'm not a vibe person) are the regional minister for our church denomination (he's INCREDIBLY pompus and walks around with his chest puffed out) and a girl who goes to my school. She's the typical suburban perfect student who, for some reason, comes off to me (and Grim) as not-very-nice-and-quite-icky. everyone else thinks she's wonderful.
Yay for the color update! I'll crack the whip on Scarlet feather brain or *gasp* maybe even design a crest/coat of arms (are those interchangable?) myself.
Dang, there's got to be another veggie killer out there..
Te he! Homework is a definate priority.

Scarlett feather brain?! I like that, Irene, very nice one there. I'll remember that It fits her perfectly! I am so glad that you're here to help have some fun *grin* with poor SPF. It was just me against her and now I have some backup!
Well...I ahev to be off to do...homework! *glares* And I missed Calc today so it's going to to one of those 'look at it, get confused, decide to screw it and go to bed' days. I've been having that a lot lately...
For the record, I like pyramids too. But, you can have 'em if I can have the mummies. Irene, your pyramid is leaning...wait, mine is too. It's the Step Pyramid! Well...three layers of it, at least...

my bunny is more evil then u'r dog SPF, so u can bring u'r dog with u, and they can fight it out, but beware that my bunny wuill actually attack people, hiss, and crippled one of my 8 cats by biting him to hard on the foot. .
do u thikn it would be posssible for me to get really good at telepathy, and then make GWB pull a hitler (grenade, or poison, or pistol, which ever takes his fancy)....*booom*

Re: You again...
Thanks gorgon just another person here to make fun of me- yippee. Can't you tell I'm thrilled?
As for squirrel- your bunny can't be more evil than my cat. She's a psychopath pretty much- also murderer of poor defenseless critters (except the idiotic chipmunk that ran straight at her- Darwin Award right there). Grim loves her and is terrified of her at the same time- I don't blame her for not wanting to pick up scars .
Nice and stable... maybe I'll come to NZ for a very extended visit.
I don't think that even a telepath would want to go anywhere near Bush; nobody genuinely WANTS to know what he's thinking. I don't know, I think I'd rather have him publicly and forcefully removed from office. I can just see him clutching his desk and screaming that they won't take him from the oval office alive... I feel bad for Grim, she likes him! (sorry, but ICK! Ok it's out of my system; I'll let you rant later...)
Does everyone have a psycho pet? I used to have two lovebirds: one was sweet and the other was evil incarnate. Poppy would bite everything that came near her and would deliberately go out of her way to attack my cat. The poor kitty was painfully afraid of her. I'd like to see her and the bunny go at it!

I never said I liked Bush, Reenie (wow, I sound like Laurie). I just liked him better than Gore Even then it was hard to choose.
If we're talking about psycho pets, I should throw in the three--no, no, four, no two--hamsters we had--no wait, they were gerbils I think...I'm not quite sure. They were both girls so my mom and I named one Skittles. We tried to get my brother to name the other one M&M so that they would match, but he would not agree. He was dead set on naming it Jack--so he did. So Jack was a girl...and I think it traumatized her for her short and pitiful life. She went nuts in the end--literally, and we found her in a heating duct a year and a half after she dissappeared.
On the other hand, my dog is still truckin'.

No one expects the Spanish Inquisition!
This is why you shouldn't reply at midnight after whatching Monty Python
Odd little hamster (or gerbil- how can you not tell?!). Does it really fall under the psycho category? I had the crankiest gerbil in the world. She died that winter when we got tons of snow just to spite me I think. Oh- who thinks that cats are not capable of spite? I read that somewhere and burst out laughing! Your dog is a sweety though! I wish Riley could behave himself.

Re: You again...
I don't remember!!! (Eek...this says much about my mind...) He/she really was nuts. She went into this phase where she would attack Skittles and try to drag her across the floor. Then whenever you got anywhere near her, she'd have a go at your finger. But she was a smart one--she escaped a bunch of times. I wanted to drown her, and I love animals!
Well, I made Amanda watch Holy Grail and Spanish Inquisition. It was a hit! I think she'll be coming to any future parties we plan.

We've got to make her see "Mr. Hitler"; it's my favorite sketch! "Nein!... Neight!... No! Vas not head of Gestapo at all!" *giggle* I love that!
Re: Monty Anaconda
I happen to know that Squirel has Life Of Brian on his PC. Probably no good to the Americans, though.

Funny system? Well, I can believe that...I wish I knew something to say about you British folks, but I can't because I think I would be lying. *complaint warning* And, y'know, I've been trying to find that book. Sorry--am making vague references once again...The Unadulturated Cat, I mean. Of course, I can't...I've never seen it here. It's not fair.
I wish I was twenty-four. Then I would be...happier. Learning about things I actually am interested in too. And I still am clinging onto the hope that people will be more mature in college. High School is pointless (Math especially); I cannot wait until June!
