Emma had been " working" as Rico had told her to. She had been eyeing him every now andthen to see what had been going on and had gotten very curious.
She had heard Rico's soft voice tell her to come to the spot where he and the Drow were standing. She had wandered over to them , hesitating slightly before speaking to only Rico although she knew the Drow was watching her intently.
< You called?> She said back, her blazing blue eyes set right on Rico, waiting for him to speak again.
(( Yes, Emma is mainly telekenetic but she has the use of telepathy.....not as well as normal telepathic people and Drow do though))

He turned to the wizard, he was sure he noticed Emma walk up. He waited for the wizard to talk, but his mind search around the chamber for one specific one.He was searching for Tehr, the wizard had told him to listen to a few thoughts, but it still interested him more. He finally found his target, and he began to sift through his thoughts, blocking out any but the most recent ones.
Rico was suddenly aware of a feeling Tehr was feeling that was new to Tehr. Remore. There were two girls Rico hadn't met yet, they had somehow caused Tehr's attitude to change. Rico smiled, he was dissecting these thoughts just as easily as he could twiddle his thumbs. If he learned more from this wizard, he could definately become powerful, very quickly.
(he he, sorry wanted to keep this thread going at the same time as Tehr's and Celestina, basically it gives me something to do)

Emma also turned to the wizard. She wsa about to speak again when a sudden wind passed through her. She could hear someone singing, but not singing as Wren had done. It was beautiful and radiant. The words to teh song she could not make out, even if she was telepathic.
< Do you hear that?> She asked Rico sharply, now looking into the wizard's eyes who was watching their every movements. She thought she heard a voice also, just a small voice. Something in her head snapped, instantly she could see in her mind an image of a young female elf. She had red hair that glistened in the darkness.
Emma instantly knew who it was, or who she could be related to. Her thoughts ran back to a certain Slytherin girl who had the same looks, elvish looks.
Emma shook her head. Even if it was, no one would beleive her. She listened for more but she could not hear the beautiful sing. She turned her head backward to see nothing, it wastoo dark to see anything else behind or infront of her. She could only see Rico and the wizard.

The drow looked out from the depths of his hood, using his physical eyes for once, keeping them still hidden as always. <Very good Rico, I had known this was the one, that was simply a training exercise for you my boy> He blocked Emma's sense easily and delivered that purely into Rico's mind, using his skill to make it impossible for her to tell anything at all had happened.
<well then, now that we are all here, Rico, tell our kinswoman Emma of this and of me and of you if you would, the more you use your mind the stronger it will become.> He allowed his shield to fold inwards, exposing that same extended warmth, joy and love that Rico had felt. Instead of simply blocking the rest of his mind though he folded the shielding, smoothing it out across his mind, a gentle slope that made it seem as though all he felt was what they could pickup on. Making it seem as though he had no mental shield up at all.
<Ah, she is finally acting as she has wanted to for a long while, ignore the song and pay it no heed.> his soft whisper reassuring, the goings on of that half-breed wizard were none of his concern, curious in that he couldn't see her, didn't know what she was doing, but he had larger issues on his mind.
((ooc: Reminder - nothing of his body is visible, he is totally covered, and hooded. You cannot meet his eyes, they are hidden. He is also far more powerful than either of you, he can pull this off easily.
Oh, and a last pointer, you don't have any mental picture of the singing woman, she is cloaked, thats the point of her song, nobody can see her, telepaths can only hear the singing faintly.))

Rico turned his mind back to Emma's. He started to grab his thoughts and send them to her mind. Sending her images and feelings explaining how this wizard wanted to help them. Then Rico searched through Emma's mind, finding times when she was dissappointed. He grabbed those thoughts and made them stronger in Emma's mind, and he also explained how this was because their kind was always looked at and promised things that were never given.

Emma felt Rico searching and probing throught her mind. At that momement she looked at the wizard, who, as Rico was explaining to her, was trying to help their kind. She felt him drag multiple times when she was distressed or discouraged out so that they would be stronger in Emma's mind. Emma remembered the time when she had had the nightmares about her family and the one time when Martin had dueled with Lyddie H'trtlaw (( cannot spell that...erm...yeah...sorry Lyddie if you read this...just can't spell it right)) and she had been scared and frightened. She wondered why Rico would want her to remember all these times.
Slowly she heard Rico explain to her in depth about how their kind where always promised things that were never given to them. Emma looked at Rico with her blazing blue eyes, slightly flickering red on and off. Then she shot her glance at the cloaked figure, he was a Drow. Was she really going to trust this Drow...he might have been one of the Drow who had whipped her nearly to death.
< Why should I trust you? I have trusted many other creatures and people before and they have always betrayed my trust.>
Emma was doubtful. She knew that this Drow was much more powerful than any other telepaths, she could sense that just by looking at him. He could easily blow her mind to bits and destroy her for her not trusting him. She hoped he was more faithful than he seemed. Drow were very clever, but not clever enough to fool her know.

The Telepath watched all of this, his mind apparently blank aside from the feeling of joy and warmth, he allowed a feeling of almost shock to creep through the shieldings, a feeling of mild rejection.
He nodded mentally, <I understand your reluctance Emma, and Rico, it pains me, makes my heart ache that I could not help you before this. It is your call on whether to trust me or not, I cannot force you only tell you that I have felt your pain, growing up lost and alone with people who did not understand, did not know what it was to have our gifting. Feared us and betrayed us, getting close only to drive a knife into our hearts and make us hurt.>
<All I can say is that I understand, I have been where you are now, except nobody came forth to offer me aide, the suffering of that is too immense to describe, please accept me, trust me. I will not betray because I know you, we are all three the same.> A pained whispering rolling across every fold of her brain, through Rico's opened and trusting mind. And from every word came that sense of fear of rejection, the joy at having found two of his people, and the warmth he felt for them.
<But if you choose not to Emma, I will respect that, it is a hard road you will hav chosen to walk, a very hard path to live. But I will ease it> he extended his awareness to include the nearby Drow, looking at them with his mind, making a point of looking at them, allowing a feeling of cold revulsion to creep through him and his mental presence. <I will find the taskmasters and you can rest assured they will never hurt you again, I will protect you from their fears.>
He extended his hands, tight black gloves covering his skin, opening them up, palms facing upwards, one extended to each of the children. His mental hands extended in the same way. <take my hand and trust in me.>

Emma listened to him explain how she was to choose wether she would trust him or not. She thought of all the things she could do with her power, and she let the Drow and Rico listen to her pained thoughts as she decided to trust the Drow.
< If what you say is true, then you have felt just as much pain and isolation as I have or more if possible. If I choose to trust you you say you will keep my taskmasters and keep them from harming me. I am very reluctent to trust you, and even if I do choose to trust you I still am not sure for I am not always open to trusting many people as I have lived my life in privacy.
< But I have chosen to trust you since you say you understand what I feel now and waht I have felt. I will trust you Drow.>
With that Emma extended her hand covered in dry blood and held her hands over his, feeling the cold metal of his hand. She clasped his hand in hers and looked into his non-visible eyes (( erk....don't know if their visble or not....oh well...that's what editing'd for)). Her blue eyes now a brownish-red. She was angry, she did not know why. She did not know why, pain from those memories had brought her anger and a great deal of pain.

Rico listened as Emma responded to the wizard and the conversation between them. He saw that Emma was allowing some trust to be placed on the wizard. He smiled, and without hesitation put his hand in the wizards.
<Good choice> he said to Emma
(man this must look strange to anyone watching, no talking what-so-ever. Just 3 people standing around looking at each other.)

The Drows mind, sitting comfortably behind a shield that they could not detect leapt happily upwards. They were his, some more work was needed on Emma, but both of them were his now. Physical contact only strengthening certain abilities the drow decided a move was needed here.
<now then, I will show you how to shield your minds. Block out unwanted thoughts and block out unwanted intrusions from those few of our kind who are not able to be trusted.>
While they remained physically standing in the same spot, the same position, their world lurched, blurring and dripping away from them all, spinning sickingly for the two who had never done this before. Reality seeming to lurch and slide down and away from them, replaced by a endless desert, a flat sandy plain, the sun non-existant but everywhere at the same time. Three figures standing, holding hands lightly, Rico and Emma falling away nauseated, the Drow standing still cloaked.
"welcome my children, welcome to your minds." His voice spoke for the first time, deeper than most Drows, hoarser, he had pulled them into a purely mental plane, physically they had not moved, but their minds were here, untrained as they were, the shock of the move would have stunned them for a moment, totally drawn into it. His own mind was somewhat split, keeping an awarness of his body and the physical world.
"This is where telepaths train, this is where we fight, this is where anything may happen."

Emma was dazed and nauseated. She had felt as though her mind had lurched into itself, folding over and dropping her in what looked like a desolate desert. She looked around her, a brilliant sun, gleaming over them, as there where no trees near them. She was still holding hands tightly with the Drow, even tighter now out of confusion and nauseia.
She looked at Rico, he seemed equally startled. He was looking about curiously at the Drow and at the setting.
Emma listened to the Drow explain, this is their mind. Emma stared at him. She was so confused. She swung her head around and looked behind her. Only miles of what seemed to be endless desert. She turned back to him and asked.
" Fight...I don't undersatnd...you said that.." But Emma died off in another wave a sudden nauseia before she could finish her sentence.

Rico slowly recovered from his nasuea. He stood up and looked around, listening as the wizard explained this place to them. He looked all around and took the area in, trying to get every detail of it. He knew that they would be here to train if anything, so he was eager. He wanted to be able to expand his powers.

The telepath stepped back and away from his pupils, he nodded slowly dropping his arms back to his sides.
"I said fight yes, we will not be fighting but there are times where a telepath will attack you, I am preparing you for that, we use this place to train in."
He looked around, the dead air, total silence of anything but their words, not even the reassuring sounds of breathing accompained the trio in here. "This is also where intense actions take place, one is limited by what can be done out of this place, non-telepathic minds may be drawn here for whatever reason." He paused waiting for them to fully recover
"Are there any questions before I continue?"

The telepath snapped his head around quickly, staring into space a moment, his active physical senses picking up information, he turned back to his pupils and shook his head once, sharply.
"I am sorry children, there is an urgent matter I must attend to." The World slid back in the same lurching manner, leaving Rico and Emma very ill.
He beckoned to the nearby taskmasters, attracting two of them over. "Escort these two back into the pen for me, touch them and I will know of it." He turned quickly, robes swishing around behind him as he stalked off to a large pavilion tent in the distance.
