Duel
((ooc: Taking place right at the beginning of the Drow attack, for names mentioned in the posts only.))

Tehr noted his men were dazed and not acting on the rescue attempt that was going too well for his liking. He screamed out orders and the men, half-blind from that spell a human man had cast lurched forward again, close to the Headmistress now pulled his sword back skidding to a long sliding stop.

Elegant grace of a predator born Tehr slid close to her, curved blade arching for Carmilla Crowe.

Re: Duel
((errrrrrrks Carm is gonna get her ass kicked, I AINT THAT DAMN GOOD! *coughs and blames it on the fact that she is a settled down mother*))

*Carmilla had run out of arrows by the time the drow started advancing, she blinked as she watched Hell Hounds and Drow get picked off one by one, by enchanted arrows, falling boulders, massive flames and bolts of electricity.

There were still to many she thought*

"Get out of here NOW!" She screamed to her students shoving more of them through the doors, drawing her Katana out of habit, her black eyes ceasing there mist the sharpened straight blade bouncing purple light off their bloodied running bodies.

As all seemed to be through, Carmilla turned her eyes back to the scene, her mouth gaping a little.

An eight headed hungry dragon sized hydra had emerged, as well as the mages advancing on her students.

"Dammit!" She screamed in frustration black eyes darting around for a solution but falling only on another problem.

In a heart beat and almost instinctivly Carmilla's hands gripped the hilt of her Katana and slashed sideways hard, blocking that dangerously curved blade with her straight one and jumping back.

"Who are you?" She asked quickly and slightly confusedly, her feet now moving one over the other pacing to the side, her narrowed ebony eyes taking in this 'elf's' appearance.

It was none like who were in here, he was tall, taller than her even, lightly armoured and donning a lot of sharp objects. The only thing that convinced her that he was indeed an elf was that slimy looking purple skin and those putrid yellow eyes.

As she got to the other side of them she shifted, her left foot now being her support her right being the force she needed to lunge, the katana she held, slightly tilted and to her side.

Re: Duel
Tehr grinned wilidly actually glad she had blocked that strike, he wanted a fight, a good fight. His dreads hanging stiffly limbs loose as he paced slowly around her, not caring in the slightest about the slaves, only the fight that was the now.

Arms and legs loose, no joints locking he moved with fluid grace, yellow eyes locked with her misting black.
"The rumour was true then, you have a necromancers blood Carmilla Crowe." he spoke easily, his shaprened to points teeth, yellowed and hideous shwoing easily in his small mouth. Sword moving slowly through the air, his free hand sliding to his back, pulling free the matching curved dagger he used for duels like this.

"Me? I am" he paused his speech only a moment as his legs flung him forward, careful of her weapon he swung a tight arc for her stomach, dagger staying close for now
"your death." he finished as his sword flicked out.

Re: Duel
*"Erk, why does everyone know me?" Carmilla thought to herself bitterly as her eyes remained locked on the over-eager Drow warrior.

As he lunged she stepped back, her katana being turned low to stop his attack to her stomach, she then turned it in her hand pushing down on his blade locking it in the ground crouching with it and bringing him with her, she locked eyes with him again, hers starting to mist again as she looked to him.

"How can you be my death when I am death?" She hissed in response, turning quickly bringing her leg around and slamming her heel in his face as they stood upright.

Re: Duel
Tehr's grin only grew, her block and then her kick hitting his face. "Even death has a master, I am yours." His knees sliding him back at her, sword slashing upwards from the ground, intended to hit under the ribs, his dagger coming up and crossing under the swords arching path, a sharp lunge for her the same area as he pulled himself fully back to his balance.

Re: Duel
((*growls* silly bastard....))

"Oh please." Carmilla replied quickly, easily blocking his sword but not catching his dagger...at least not the way she prefered. The small dagger dug in her side while she blocked the higher blade.

Carmilla gritted her teeth and let off a frustrated growl, her black eyes closed only for a moment then she snapped them open again. Her right leg coming up quickly connecting with his chin.

Re: Duel
Tehr never had been good at insults in a fight, he felt his dagger bite into warm flesh, relished in hte feeling of it driving in between ribs. Her kick hitting as he was in too close, unable to avoid it, his snarl as his wrist twisted the dagger, dragging it out and widening the wound as he fell back.

Taking the avantage his wound may have caused he slid back to her, sword slicing for her head, unbelievably fast as he settled into the flow of the duel, feeling that familiar rythm of a battle, the screams of the dying around them feeding his desire. The sword this time was again the distraction as his heavy boot clad left foot flicked up and around, aimed at the wound he had dealt, snapping through the air in perfect co-ordination with his sword.

Re: Duel
Carmilla did not give him the satisfaction of a scream as he twisted his dagger, instead her instense eyes narrowed waiting for his next move, as he executed his, Carmilla pulled a defense move Teak had taught her.

Arching her back avoiding the sword, she bent completly into an arch, her hands flattening on the ground releasing her katana only a moment for this manuever, one of her boots coming up and kicking the blade out of the way, her other connecting again with his chin.

As she was sure she was done, her hands closed around her katana hilt again standing slowly and glaring at Tehr an odd grin on her face.

Quickly she ripped half of her bloody muscle shirt off, revealing the deep and heavy bleeding cut. A faint white color appeared around the edges crawling into the open hole healing it instantly. She kept her odd grin up as she spoke.

"You'll find it won't be that easy getting rid of me." She said as she slapped her bare caramel skin proving to Tehr this was no joke.

Re: Duel
Tehr eyes narrowed, his head snapping back, feet sliding across the ground, turning him slightly as he backed up, wathcing her display and sneering to cover his frustrated anger.
"As you wish it." he snarled, dagger shoving into its sheath behind his back. Arm lifting above his shoulder, grin growing as he slid his second long blade free.

Spinning both around in his hands to show he wasn't bluffingin drawing it. Feet moving quickly, all holding back dropping now he closed in on her, swords coming together above his right shoulder, cutting towards her with power. A bluffing strike though, slower she avoided it easily, his eyes flashed in triumph, swords reversing in the air, mid stroke they spun back on themselves finding their true target.

The clash of steel on steel, ringing loudly catching her katana halfway and at the hilt, smashing it aside, one blade spinning around hers, sending the sword flying through the air. Turning sideon his boot lashed out, connecting with her stomach and shoving her backwards.

Twirling the twin swords through the air he slid back, eyeing her closely, ready to slide back in and finish htis fight the instant she went for her weapon that had just finished rolling across the ground several feet away.

Re: Duel
*Carmilla indeed stumbled back, her breath catching in her throat, her stomach lurching and screaming in pain at her, she closed her mouth and breathed out hard through her nose.

He would not see her break. She cursed herself as she lost her weapon, swallowing and staring hard at Tehr eyes still misting. Carmilla stood straight, her hand dropping to her side brushing the small tube in her belt loop.

"I'll ask again." She started as a small distraction while she slowly pushed the tube from her belt loop into her curled palm.

"Who are you?" She finished twisting the weapon in her fingers waiting for his answer or for him to attack again.

Re: Duel
Tehr watched her hand slip to her belt, not seeing her action though, her distraction working. He stepped back, sqauring off to her, swords sweeping down to point at the ground, his guard totally down in formal introduction.

"You have earnt that much at least Carmilla Crowe, I am Tehr’ Zheli, Master of The Blades for House Rielhzar." His eyes flashed dangerously as his swords lifting with a fluid, graceful motion, twisting his stance again, swords crossing in front of him before sweeping to their positions.

Re: Duel
"Rielhzar..." Carmilla growled back. "I should have expected this from you lot, cowards, attack those you can't defeat when their backs are turned." She added, her hatred growing, his house name ringing annoyingly in her ears. Watching him intesntly as he finished his introduction and ready his weapons

She scoffed and shook her head, her hand around her tubed staff clenching and shaking slightly, causing it to release itself snapping to its full magnificent length.

"This is the last time you hurt anyone I know." She told him in a soft hiss. The staff in her hand glinting in the purple light a surge of electricty flowing through it.

Carmilla spunn the staff in her fingers resting it next to her holding it tightly her stance not changing waiting in an eery calm for him to attack.

Re: Duel
Tehr laughed at her comments, an evil chuckling laugh baring his teeth clearly watching this new weapon closely, not certain what exactly it was or how it could be used effectivley as a weapon of war. The electrical light hurtinghis eyes slightly.

He shrugged not caring, she wanted to use a stick he'd kill her anyway, and slid forward again, blades spinning from opposite directions, light fast strikes, one for the neck, one sweeping for her gut again.

Re: Duel
As Tehr advanced, Carmilla stepped back lazily, the staff in her hand almost going on its own after she lifted, she spun it in both hands, deflecting each blade easily, a loud crack and flash of light being emmited as she did.

Freeing herself of dangerous blades Carmilla stepped foward into Tehr, the staff being turned straight in her hand, she hit him, dead center, in the middle of his chest slamming the front of the staff into his body.

In the same fluid movement, she brought the staff up spinning it over her hand and then down the metallic end catching him in his cheek bringing it down as well as him, the staff end which hit him touching the ground her eyes locked on her him, her face still set in that eery calm.

Re: Duel
Tehr went down with the staffs strike, throwing himself and rolling clear, coming back to his feet in the same single fluid motion, a perfect show of elven grace. Swords twirling again in his hands, becoming a blur of motion, smooth and unpredicatble he paced around her, body moving as one with the weapons.

Putrid yellow eyes locked on her misting black in wild ecstacy of this duel. a slightl flexing in his legs and he drove back in against her, never breaking the pattern of motion, one blade sweeping down for her collarbone, the other beginning a downward slice for her legs, it never got far though as he pulled both strikes.

Feet shifting, the back leg crossing behind his front, twisting in a piroette, blades curling around her without touching, he came round spinning at full speed behind her. A wickedly curved finally striking, slicing across her back, biting deeply into flesh. His spin followed the diagonally downward stroke of his sword spinning totally again, back to back his knee coming up high in front of him, booted heel shoving back.

Driving into the small of her back and throwing her forward, he came down with impeccable grace and skill, turning again to face his opponent, twin blades beginning their confusing dance a second time, putrid eyes searching for hers.

Re: Duel
*Carmilla rolled forward, gritting her teeth still refusing to scream for him. She had two kids for Merlins sake, this was a nothing compared to that.

Slowly she stood, stopping her body from shaking she caught the glint of her katana to her left, in the corner of her dark eye, it was still too far out of reach though. Feeling her back spilling blood for a moment then healing she grinned into Tehr's yellow eyes her eyebrow raising.*

"You've got to do better than that I'm afraid." She said to him in a deadly whisper her black eyes flashing as she stood.

In rush she bounded foward, shaking the staff in her hand, feeling it do her bidding, it shortened about 3 inches becoming less cumbersome, she took it in one hand and swung down at his face like she would a beaters club, smacking him in his left cheek, bringing it back across his right.

Taking it in both hands and spinning her entire body quickly, Carmilla brought the enchanted steel around connecting with his mouth, her hits all backed by an intense anger and hatred for this creature before her.

Re: Duel
Tehr knew he did now, shaking his dreadlocks at fighting magical creatures, you just really couldn't spare them an inch of leeway, this one was proving harder than he had thought simply through her healing ability.
"I'm just starting to enjoy this." he answered, the rest of his reply cut off by her unanticipated advance, still uncertain about staffs he missed the block.

His head snapping both ways, a couple of teeth smashing loose insides his mouth. Snarling and spitting them both out of his mouth, his knees driving up and back, flipping him through the air and away from her. No longer grinning, his own face set in a cold death-masque, feet catching him bit not pausing as he launched forward again flying at her an almost blur of motion.

Swords combining together, points past his left hip they slashed up as one, still propelling himself forward, one connecting heavily with her staff, the other sliding past it, reversing in a tight arc. This one also blocked by the staff, placing her defenses exactly where he wanted them, holding the staff in place through necessity.

His moving too quickly getting his body close to hers. A knee snapping into her hip, his head cracking against hers, the common reeling of his own head far less than hers. Off balance and staggering back his swords were freed to move again, wasting no time they both spun through the air, his right twisting around the staff and shoving it down and away, the left blade finsihing its motion biting into her right shoulder.

Twisting to his side his boot coming back up, snapping for her stomach again.

Re: Duel
*Carmilla reeled back holding her staff in one hand her other gripping her bleeding shoulder, she winced at it, the cut was deep and taking longer to heal. She played it off as if it was the pain surging, grateful her muscle t-shirt sleeve hid most of her skin as she stepped back she felt her heel kick the butt of her katana hilt, she grinned oddly at Tehr*

"And soon it'll be over." She said to him swallowing heavily and slowing her breathing letting the pain in her stomach flow through. She stood upright, arching her back slightly cracking it, breathing out heavily her eyes narrowing again, her shoulder still didn't heal fully yet.

She stepped back slowly, shaking her wavy head, loose tendrils finding their way into her eyes. her hand dropping from her shoulder she snapped the staff again making it slightly longer she tossed it high into the air her odd grin not fading.

"Come and get me."

Re: Duel
Tehr spotted the katana at her feet shaking his head, centuries of fighting had honed him too well to fall for a committed attack. He slid forward across the ground again, his left blade twirling in close, ready to defend, his right slashing out, aiming for her neck now.

Re: Duel
"Fool" Carmilla saw his eyes go for the Katana, just what she needed, watching him lunge, she bounded back a few inches, having done this before timing the fall of her staff, she jumped just as it was just above her head, turning in the air, her leg came out and kicked the butt hard, sending it sailing for Tehr's head.

As she dropped, Carmilla kicked the Katana off the ground grabbing it, twirling it in her hand, holding it like she would a javeline, she extended her arm and released it, the sharp point going for the hollow of Terh's throat

Re: Duel
Tehrs guarding sword swung through the air, batting the flying staff aside easily. his grin failing only as he saw the Katana flying straight and true, he began to spin only a fraction of an instant too late.

Sharp steel piercing his throat, the edge tearing through soft exposed flesh, slicing his throat open easily. Tehr's spin prevented instant death, and he finished the elegant twirl, blood gushing from the mortal wound.

His knees gave, hands releasing their swords which clattered loudly to the ground, dropping heavily to his knees, eyes wide shock passing through him as his life gushed from him, yellow meeting black, he didn't bother trying to speak, he couldn't.

He had been defeated, his sucking breaths gurgling in blood which frothed and boiled from the slash, red rushing down leather and chain, red spilling over paling purple skin. Hands came up to the wound, clutching at it vainly, but what showed in his eyes was not terror or fear, he had hunted this moment his entire life, picking his first balde up and gutting a street-urchin for a few coppers, hunting this release. His eyes showed shock but more, they showed respect.
