"God Celestina, for a Ravenclaw you're not all that bright. Not that I have a right to talk, I gave away tactical secrets. But Celestina, they could have killed you for the sake of your ego. We can't aford an ego down here. Morals yes. Ego no. Though at present I've violated both of mine." Wren began to laugh. "We're both a couple of dipswitches."
*She laughed herself nearly to a stupor and tehn sat up again.*
"Scuse me....second wind. Captian divert all power from computer to engines! Brain to body! Seriosly Celestina I wish I had half your guts. I'd beg any day. They aren't lower than us. As long as you keep looking down on them you're in denial of what they can do. They could wipe us out at the slightest whim, and they haven't got the morals to stop them doing it. they need us for something, and when our usefullness has been expended, we're kaput. Dead as doornails, six feet under, pushing up daisys." Wren began to laugh again, listing off varios ways to say dead. "We'll be ff to the big castle in the sky, heading off for Avalon, sailing off to the deep blue sea, meeting our makers, singing with angels, going to the Lordy! Then we'll kick the bucket, buy the farm, suck vacume, and sleep with the fishes! We'll keel over, seize up, acisotlie! Clear! DOA!"
*Wren had compleatly lost it. She was beyond caring about anything. She wasn't even sure what day it was, anymore, given the lack of a sun, and the shift work sleep. She might already be 14 and not know it. It seemed to Wren that all the rest of her life had been a dream, and then she woke up, down here in this hell hole, and this was the only thing that was real. This was all that was ever real. This was all there was, and this was all there would be, and then they would die. It was that simple, and it didn't matter. nothing Celestina said could help, because Wren had been compleatly emotionaly, and physicaly broken. Her mood swung rapidly from crying, to shouting to laughing. Nothing could be done to change anything, she belived, and mostly she ws right. There was nothing the kids could do but wait for rescue to come. IF it came...*

Re: The Last Thread
Rico had woken up during this ruckus and proceeded to hear Wren go on her little rants. He decided that he should help her. He reached his mind out to hers, searching around in her mind. He grabbed happy memories of hers and pulled them forwards, and managed to push the bad thoughts of this place to the farthest reaches of her mind. He sent out a feeling of peace into her mind.
(ok so yes he can do this, long story, but basically it calms you down, you still know that there is problems but they don't seem as important to you as they did)
Rico then turned his mind to Emma's. He sensed immediately her feelings.
<You aren't betraying anyone, that wizard is just trying to help us, he doesn't even consider himself with them. Plus, you have suffered a lot already, its not like you haven't been punished. You are going to receive training plus you get protecting, he isn't asking you to betray anyone just to train with him and let him protect you. Please realize this>

Re: The Last Thread
< Alright, I understand. No one else does though, except maybe Tehr. If anybody finds out about the wizard then they will think that we are betraying them. At least some of them will.> Emma cleared her mind and also ran hers into Wren's, washing all the pain that seemed to be there into the back of her mind. And a wonderful song she remembered from an elf woman singing, it ran like a stream through Wren's uptight mind, clearing it and running through it with peace and comfort.
Re: The Last Thread
Celest breathed heavily "Look Wren! Look what they have done to you!" Celest rolled her eyes "Its not my ego trust me-its my spirit! They have obviously broken yours!" she sighed and watched as Wren went completely out of her mind. Celest tried to calm her "Shhh! Wren! Stop it you will be heard!" she panted.

Re: The Last Thread
*Rico's help was only temporary, as her mind was to far gone for him to be much help. The thoughts pulled to the front of her mind drited there for a moment, leaving her in a few blissfull seconds of cattatonia, but then she fell back down to earth, and landed. HARD. Wren looked up at Celestina, and laughed.*
"It's not broken to beg, it's practical. I begged all the time when I first got here and it kept me ALIVE, and I am not broken. I will not shut up and I aM NOT BROKEN!!!"
*Wren's mood to another of it's rapidfire swings, this time twards angry, she beagn kicking her legs and flailing her arms and throwing a temper tantrum. It was about time to write Wren off as one of the many kids who simply could not handle the stress, and had gone into states of compleate and total system failure. They were easily picked out now, in the stillness. Many were rocking back and forth, mubbling to themselves, and the tothers were sleaping soundly, as if nothing were wong, without so much as a whimper. They had either broken with fear, or found refuge in the backs of their minds, the prosses wasn't pretty, and it wasn't quiet. And nither at the moment was Wren.*
"AM NOT! AM NOT! AM NOT!!! AM NOT! Am not...."
*The speed of her mood swings increased as she plunged into another pit of sadness and began to wail. Gradualy her wails were reduced to whimpers and she curled into a fetal position and became fixated on picking the scab slowy forming on her left knee.*

Re: The Last Thread
Celest stared around, wide eyed. They were getting glances from many others, Celest wrapped her amrs around Wren in a hug "Shh!" she said again "dont do this Wren! You will get yourself beat up! STOP IT!" she screamed grabbing Wren and shaking her hard "Im serious Wren I dont want anything to happen to you-so...Be quiet!" she stared into Wrens eyes "Just be quiet!" Celest glanced around cautiously. Wren sobbed and Celest saw her pick at a scab "Dont do that either Wren it will only get worse that way!" she said staring sadly at all of Wrens bruises and scabs.

Re: The Last Thread
Rhiannon was screaming inside. The world was closing in on her. She was taken over by stress, and wanted to cry badly. But she couldn't. The tears would not come. She'd sworn to herself that she wouldn't cry in front of anyone, and Rhiannon wasn't about to break her promise. They would never be rescued, it seemed. They'd be down here until they died. Rhiannon stopped caring about everyone around her and entered a dark oblivion. At this point, she didn't care if she was reprimanded or beaten. She just wanted to go home...

Re: The Last Thread
*Wren didn't ignore Celest, because she didn't hear her, she had so blocked sencory perception. she contunued picking the scab, watching the blood dribble out of her knee and then she did something she hadn't done since she was a first year: she started conjuring. She'd had control over it for years but now, in her emotional state, she lost that control. A garter snake slithered out the leg of her jumpsuite flowed by a cricket, and a frog, and a virtual stream of vermin began to stream out of the right leg of her jumpsuite.*

Re: The Last Thread
Rhiannon heard a voice enter her head, along with thoughts of Hogwarts and comfort and love. She could not see where the voice was coming from though. It was raspy and high, and it was pleading with her.
< Don't give into the Drow.> The voice was now tremouring and shaking slightly. < It only shows them they have won, and they haven't. They will come for us, they will rescue us! You musn't forget that, please, Rhiannon, please! Don't show them they're stronger than you! You've got to show them you're stronger! Even if it means getting hurt.>
But the voice did not stop there. It pleaded with her repeatedly, saying almost the same words. Over and over, the voice hoped at least some of this would get to Rhiannon and give her hope.
< Please don't give into the Drow Rhiannon, if we show them we're strong, then they will leave us alone. They will not be so ruling of us if we show them they cannot frighten us. Please, Rhiannon, please.>
The voice faded out and still Rhiannon was not able to see where the voice was coming from, nor could she answer if.
Re: The Last Thread
The voice in Rhiannon's head pleaded with her. Trying to pull her out of the darkness, she thought.
"I don't CARE!" Rhiannon screamed, covering her ears and rocking back and forth. "I'm not strong!" she yelled, almost in tears. She was going mad, it seemed to others.

*When there were about enough vermin to fill a shoebox the conjuring stoped, but the animals and insects rather than running off, as normal animals would do, crowded in around Wren. It was an internal coping mechanisim of hers, when she was sad, they had always been able to cheer her. She aknowedged them, though she acknowledged nothing else in this hell hole, and ceased in her scab picking, but rather than feeling comphorted, she was worried for all of thier saftey.*
"You can't be here," she whispered to them, and began to send each and every one of the animals, and a good many of the bugs, bck whrever they'd come from. "Delitrous, Delitrois Delitrois."
*Eventualy she was left with only the garden snake, who had crawled inside her jumpsuite to hide from her wand. She decided that he could stay, snakes could certainly fend for themselves. She occupied herself now, stroking warm smooth scaly underbelly with her index finger.*

Re: The Last Thread
< Yes you are strong!> The voice was now pleading with a trembling voice, almost crying. < You are strong! Please don't let them see your weakness! Please! The stronger we show them we are, the weaker they will be.>
Even though Rhiannon had closed her ears and was now tryingto block out the voice, it just grew stronger, trembling with anger and sorrow.
< Please try to be strong, at least try.> It pleaded one last time, trying desperatly to convince Rhiannon she was strong and that she needed to go on.

Re: The Last Thread
Aldon watched the scene before him, some of the girls seemed to have...snapped..., the commotion had woken up many of the other students and would probobly draw the attention of the guards into the pen. That was not a good way to bring the day around. Thats when Rhiannon screamed, yelled in pain...not so much of a yell that seemed to come from physical pain, but some sort of mental pain, Rhiannon seemed to be talking to herself, Yelling to nobody...had she gone MAD!
"Rhiannon!, you stop that!" Aldon called as he moved towards her, climbing over the crammed students. "get a hold of yourself girl!" She kept crying. In his head he was screaming, at her, all this yelling and Crying had pushed him to the edge. "STOP IT!!!" "JUST STOP IT!!" Aldon grabbed his rivals wrists...He looked into her eyes, Rhiannon was much older than him...mabye much wiser, but at this moment it bothered him to see her this way. "I need you to be strong, Rhiannon, it makes me want to be stronger..." "it makes me have to be strong!!" It was true, when she was strong, he wanted to be stronger...Just like the time he had seen her in the crowd around him, she caused him to yell out, cause a small 'mutiny'.
'please Rhiannon!, please, stop this" How unfortunate that it had resolved to this, he thought...
If she stayed this way...he might as well join her...
Re: The Last Thread
Rhiannon wanted the voices in her head to stop...she wanted everything to stop. The next thing she knew, Aldon had hold of her wrist, and was yelling at her. These were her classmates. She had no right to yell at them, she realized. But all Rhiannon wanted to do was yell...Her voice left her. She gulped, and nodded wordlessly. Rhiannon put her hand to her throat. It can't help you, a voice said. It's gone. You must find your own strength...

The Last Thread
Celest watched Wren, she had a terrible look in her eyes, one of pity. "Wren..." she trailed off, looking around at other students. " Wren dear..do you want me to go?" she asked slowly. Wren had given Celest the impression that she wanted to be left alone..although Celest didnt want to leave her.

*Wren did not acknowedge Celest. Her concoius mind had gone someplace else to hide, leaving her subcouncois behind. It was a childish mind left behind, capable of very little. The part of Wren's mind that had gone to hide, could still see out, observing and watching, it saw the look of pity on Celest's face and it wanted to be sick, but since it was so far removed, it needen't be, and soon it shut down copleatly, waitng for the subcouncoise to tell it it was safe to wake up, and that it was all over. Meantime her subcouncous, which had taken over the main operation of her body, was blisfulley occupied playing wtih the snake.*

((That duel didn't do us any favors, did it, Wren? *laughs*))
Rhiannon was in darkness. At least, that's what she felt. There was darkness all around her. People trying to help, but in futile attempt. She pulled her knees tightly to her and rested her head on top. Sadness wrapped around her, and the darkness was a blanket. Except the blanket held no warmth, only comfort...

Re: The Last Thread
Emma watched Rhiannon. It wasn't helping her. She slumped down against a wall and looked around, Wren, Aldon, Rhiannon, they had all seemed to have gone mad. She was stuck here. She thought about the Drow and how rough they had been with them. If Hogwarts ever chose to rescue them, it would now be impossible. Things were slowly putting themselves together, they would never escape. Never.
She wrapped her arms around her knees and hugged them tightly. She put her head in her knees as they rose to her face, and cried. It was hopeless, they were all going to die here. No one would risk their lives to save them from the Drow. They were their slaves now. She wanted the trusting Drow to take her away from here, or Rico to take her away from here. Here was painful, and she was hurting.
Silver tears dropped onto her scraped and whipped knees. Emma's vision was blurry because of the many tears that swelled up in her eyes and dripped like rain onto her knees. She didn't care about anyone else now, she just wanted to go home. She missed Martin and comfort and warmth. But thinking of Martin made her cry more. She would never see him again, never.
She raised her head, and looked out of the stuffy pen. The Drow were no where in sight. She wanted that trusting Drowto take her away, away to somewhere she would not feel this way in. More tears slid down her face as she put her head back down agian. She layed down sideways, still inher old postion, hugging her knees tightly. This made her bruised and cut shoulders ache, but she wanted to hide herself from the people around her. She wanted to just disappear.

((Speaing of the duel Rhi, you gotsta go enervate me, as the dark creature dude posted that the duel was not over, and he wanted us to keep fighting. But honastly Rhi, Wren was not broken by the duel, she got broken later, in the Dark Circle, just moments before this post began.))
*Wren still gently stroking the snake, drifed off into a blissfull half sleep, as close as one could get to sleep when tehy were already half cattatonic.*
