Re: HOT!
Good lord! :eek Once they start, they just can't stop huh? :eek A bit like Pringles ;) :lol

I'm glad Cassie spent the weekend talking all about Pacey - I think, given the choice, that's probably the way I'd spend every weekend! :D

Loving this as you know... Hee!

Re: HOT!
Walking through the front door the sight before Mark made his heart break. There was his sweet little girl in the arms of another man, tousling his hair and wrapping her arms around his neck and hugging him so tight that Pacey’s face was turning red due to lack of oxygen. Pacey was tickling her and making her squeal and squirm all the while never letting go of her grip on him.

The pain he felt in his heart as he watched to encounter before him brought tears to his eyes. Never before had he entertained the thought of his baby loving another man as much as she loved him.

He remembered the day she was born and how perfectly she fit into his arms. He remembered when she first crawled, took her first step, and when she first said ‘dada’. Every precious moment of her life flashed before his eyes when he saw the way she looked at Pacey. It was the same look she used to have reserved especially for him, and him alone.

And then there was Joey, the mother of his child. He knew she hadn’t had a man in her life since they broke up and now the thought of her having someone gave him an uneasy feeling in the pit of his stomach. She did tell him that she and Pacey were just friends, but the way Pacey looked at her told Mark a different story. The picture in front of him was one of a happy family. A family that used to be his.

Stepping forward he tried his best not to let the pain he was feeling show. All he wanted to do was gather his baby girl in his arms and be the only man she loved again. To be the only man she ranted and raved about, to be the only man she seen.

Right now that wasn’t the case. Right now the way she looked at Pacey, the way she hung on his every word, and even the way she talked about him told Mark that his daughter loved this man and worshiped the ground he walked on. ‘It’s just a phase,’ Mark rationed with himself in his mind. ‘Soon the novelty of having someone new around will wear off and I’ll have my little girl back.’ He had to tell himself these things or else he’d drive himself crazy with the other thoughts he was having. The thoughts of Cassie not wanting to spend time with him anymore or talk to him on the phone through the week.

Being too wrapped up in his thoughts Mark didn’t notice that Cassie had left Pacey’s arms until he felt her tugging at his hand.

“Yooo hooo, daddy?” She sang at him trying to get his attention. “Daddy, I’m talking to you.”

“I’m sorry honey. Daddy was just thinking. What did you say sweetheart?”

“What are you thinking about?”

“I was thinking about how much I’m going to miss you princess.” Mark took her hand and kneeled down so that he was eye level with her.

“I’m going to miss you to daddy.” Cassie giggled.

Mark hugged Cassie and kissed the top of her head feeling a bit better by hearing her say that she would miss him.

“So what was it that you were saying to me honey?”

“I was telling you that this is Pacey.” Cassie pulled away from him and pointed at Pacey.

Mark slowly stood up trying his best not to show the animosity he felt towards Pacey, especially since Cassie was standing right there with them.

“So I finally get to meet the infamous Pacey.” He tried his best to joke and held his hand out to Pacey.

“And I get to finally meet the infamous Mark.” Pacey shook his hand at looked at the man in front of him.

He was exactly the opposite of Pacey. Mark stood about an inch shorter, had blonde hair and hazel eyes. Pacey always imagined that Mark would be one of those types who didn’t have a hair out of place, his shirt always tucked in and that he’d look uptight. But that image was now blown out of the water. Mark’s hair was messy obviously from driving with the window open. His black shirt was untucked from his khakis and he seemed laid back, almost nice.

Pacey didn’t want to like Mark because of how much he hurt Joey, but then he was thankful because if Mark hadn’t of left Joey then they wouldn’t have spent a better part of the weekend making love.

The three adults stood there in an uncomfortable silence waiting for one of them to break it.

“Well, little girl, daddy’s gotta go now.” He kneeled down and wrapped his arms around her tiny frame. “I’m going to miss you so much honey, but I’ll call you everyday and I’ll think of you every minute, okay?”

“Okay daddy, talk to you later.”

“Bye, Cassie. I love you sweetheart.” He kissed her softly on the head before rising to his feet. “I’ll call tomorrow Joey.”

“That’s fine Mark.” She finally spoke to him for the first time since he walked into her house. Joey felt a little awkward having her ex boyfriend and current lover in the same room, she didn’t know how to act or what to do. Right now she wished there was a manual on how to deal with this.

“Pacey, it was nice to finally put a face to the name.”

“Same here, man.” Pacey extended his hand to Mark, which Mark accepted and shook Pacey’s hand.

Walking out the door he could hear Cassie’s excited little voice going a mile a minute to Joey and or Pacey. He took small short steps to his car as his daughter’s voice faded away with every step he took.

Glancing towards the creek before getting into his car Mark saw Cassie and Pacey walking down to the end of the dock with their fishing poles in hand and Joey following close behind. Mark watched on as his daughter went to spend time with a man doing what him and her used to call ‘their special time’.

“Pacey do you want the instructions or not?” Joey huffed at him for what felt like the fiftieth time in the last half hour.

“Joey, I have put hundreds of tents together in my day, I’m a guy and guys don’t need instructions to put up a freakin’ tent.”

“Fine then. Be a guy. Be stubborn. And then you can be the one who tells Cassie why we have to sleep inside tonight rather than having a camp out.”

Popping his head out from inside the tent Pacey glared at her playfully. “Jo. I won’t have to tell Cassie anything because I’m going to get this damn thing up and she’ll be able to sleep out here tonight, okay? Now if you don’t plan on helping me out and you plan to only criticize my handy work, why don’t you go and find someone else to annoy?”

“Ahhh…but where would be the fun in that? It gives me great pleasure to watch you get flustered because you know deep down that you won’t be able to do this without looking at the directions. So, I think I’m going to just sit here and watch you dig yourself into a hole and make you beg me to help dig you out when you realize that you need help.”

“Me? Beg? Never happen. Besides Jo, you make it sound like it’s brain surgery, which it’s not. You just sit there all you like, maybe you’ll learn a thing or two.” He winked at her and went back to setting up the tent.

Joey sat there and timed how long it took for him to lose his patience with his attempts at getting it together the way it should be.

Twenty minutes.

It took him twenty minutes before she heard the grunt of frustration come from what was supposed to be her and Cassie’s sleeping quarters for the evening and probably the next several nights to come.

Lifting the top up she peered in at him. There he was sitting there legs crossed with a scowl on his face looking like a two year old who was just told that they didn’t get any dessert unless they finished all their vegetables.

“Are you about ready to do that begging that you said you would never do?” She teased him as she settled next to him with the paper in her hand.

“I told you that I don’t beg Josephine. Not now. Not ever!” He pouted without looking at her.

Running her hand over his forearm she leaned closer to him and lowered her voice to a seductive whisper. “Not ever Pace?” She purred in his ear tracing her tongue along his earlobe.

“Never.” He said firmly trying his best to ignore the sensations that her soft moist tongue was creating within his body. Every lick and every nibble made him want her more. Every touch and every look made him want to make love to her repeatedly. Every second and every minute that passed, made him love her more.

“Are you sure there’s nothing I can do to change your mind about that?” She raised an eyebrow suggestively at him while running her fingertips along the inside of his thigh.

“Joey…” He groaned letting out a slow uneasy breath.

He closed his eyes enjoying the feeling of her fingers on his skin. The way she gently made her way further up his leg sent shivers throughout his body and he could feel himself harden more with every millimetre of skin she touched.

“Yeah Pace?” She breathed heavily moving closer to his lips. Closing her eyes Joey slipped her tongue out of her mouth to moisten her lips.

“Where’s Cassie?” He asked leaning forward so that their lips were nearly touching.

“She’s over at Taylor’s.” Closing the gap completely between them Joey lightly brushed her lips against his. Sliding her small hand the rest of the way up his thigh she cupped his hard @#%$ through the fabric of his shorts. Moving her hand past his erection it crept up his chest and snaked around the back of his neck drawing him closer, deepening the kiss.

“Knock, knock. Anyone home in there?”

Joey quickly pulled away from Pacey at the sound of Danielle’s voice and offered him an apologetic smile before leaving him there alone to deal with his raging hard on.

“Joey.” Danielle nodded with a wicked grin when she saw Joey emerging from the tent looking a bit frazzled.

“Danielle.”

“Was I interrupting?”

“Nothing that can’t be finished later.” Joey said with a twinkle in her eyes, it was the same twinkle that Danielle has seen ever since Joey and Pacey had taken their relationship to a different level.

“My God Joey…will you give the poor guy a break?

“I don’t hear him complaining.” Joey laughed and looked at Pacey as he made his way out of the lopsided tent.

“Hey there big boy.” Danielle joked.

“Big boy is right and don’t you forget it.”

“So I’ve heard.” Danielle smirked and then laughed when she saw the colour rising to Pacey’s cheeks and his gaze fall upon Joey. She loved doing this to him. She loved embarrassing him.

She was completely joking though. Joey wouldn’t talk much about her and Pacey’s sex life or anything else that was going on between them now. Not that Danielle didn’t try and pry it out of her because she did, but Joey was reluctant to disclose any details other than things were okay and yes the sex was great.

“I think I need a break from putting that damn thing up. I’m going to go in and get something to drink, do you two want anything?”

“I’m good, what about you Danielle?”

“I’m okay…actually Jo, I was wondering if I could talk to you for a bit, alone. No offence Pace.” She gave him an apologetic look.

“None taken babe. You two go and have your girl bonding thing or whatever it is that you call it and when you come back, you’ll see one perfectly put together tent.”

“We’ll be back in a bit Pace. Should I leave the instructions here with you or no?”

“Uh…no. I will get it done, just you wait and see Josephine.”

“Uh huh, we’ll see Pacey.”

Danielle stood there waiting for them to give each other a kiss good bye or anything that couples normally do when one is leaving, but nothing. The more she thought about it that more she realized that she had never seen them share anything that resembled a relationship. If she was an outsider and didn’t know that they had been sleeping together for the last couple of weeks she would think that they were nothing more than friends.

She could read Pacey’s actions and reactions to Joey and she knew how he felt about her. She could see that he was head over heels in love with her, but Joey was another story. Joey’s feelings that were usually written all over her face were now guarded, unreadable. Sure she looked happy and acted happy, but there was something off and Danielle planned on finding out what that something was.

After Pacey had disappeared into the house, Danielle turned and started walking towards the creek, motioning with her head for Joey to follow.

Catching up to her she walked in step with Danielle, enjoying the silence for a few minutes.

“Is something wrong Danielle?”

“Yes. No. I don’t know.” She sighed and sat down on a soft patch of grass cross-legged and let her fingers play with a blade of grass.

“What is it? You know you can tell me anything, right?”

“I know I can, but this is just going to be really hard. A lot harder than I thought and believe me, the thought of this was hard enough. Does that make sense to you?”

“Oddly enough, yes.” Joey laughed.

“Remember a few weeks ago I told you that there may be something to tell?”

“Yeah.”

“Well, as it turns out…there is something to tell.”

“And that something would be…?”

Danielle sat there as if Joey hadn’t said anything looking over the creek with sadness written all over her face.

“Danielle, you’re beginning to scare me here. What’s wrong?”

“That’s just it Jo. It’s not that it’s wrong. I mean, it’s a good thing, a wonderful opportunity and I’m really excited about it. But at the same time my heart is breaking and I hate that feeling.”

“Why don’t you just tell me then? If it’s something that’s wonderful, why is it also heartbreaking?”

“It’s heartbreaking because of what I have to do, what I have to leave.”

“What do you have to do? Why do you have to leave? And please stop being so damn vague and just tell me already.”

Taking a deep breath and releasing it slowly, she turned and looked at Joey. “I’m moving and by doing that, that means that I have to leave you and Cassie.”

“You’re moving? Where? When? And more importantly, why?”

“To Boston, in about two weeks and because I had an amazing job offer.”

“What kind of job offer? I thought you were happy where you are.”

“I am and I wasn’t even looking, but Ken recommended me for the position in Boston. I wasn’t going to take it when they offered it to me, but I’d be stupid not to. I keep thinking of how many more kids I might be able to help, you know? And that’s what sold me. Boston’s social service department is in so much more need than Capeside’s. They have so many kids in need and so many kids in need of someone to love them. I can help them Jo. I can love them and help them find the love that they need. I just feel like I’m needed there more than I’m needed here.”

“I see.” Joey said not knowing how to respond to the news that her best friend was moving.

“Look Jo, its not like Boston is that far away and we’ll never see each other again. Like you’d be able to get rid of me that easily. I just won’t be here everyday.”

“I know that, but what am I going to do without you?”

“For one…you’ll have to start finding the answers to your questions on your own. I won’t be here to tell you or show you what’s right in front of you face, what’s right under your nose. You’ll have to do that on your own.”

“What are you talking about? Right in front of my face, right under my nose?”

“Pacey.”

“What about Pacey?”

“Why don’t you tell me, what about Pacey? Lately you won’t say anything when it comes to him and I want to know why.”

“There’s nothing to tell.”

“Sure there is. There’s a lot to tell, like for instance…Are you to together, together or are you just best friends with benefits? Are you in love with him? Do you see a future with him? I could go on and on here for hours, but I think you get my point.”

“I don’t know what we are Danielle. All I know is that I’ve never felt like this before. I feel like someone totally different now and instead of analyzing it to death I just want to go with it. I don’t want to define anything because I don’t know what it is. It’s like I’ve found this new side of me and I just want to spend some time getting to know this me.”

“You know that’s a cop out right?”

“A cop out for what?”

“It’s a cop out for dealing with what you’re really feeling. I can see what you’re doing here Joey, I can see the game you’re playing and if you’re not careful you’re going to lose. You can’t expect to keep things the way they are with Pacey and not expect him to want more from you.”

“What if he wants more than I can give? What if I’m not capable of giving him what he wants? Because I don’t know if I can Danielle. I don’t know if I can go down that road again.”

“What if the @#%$ sky fell? What if tomorrow never came? What if…what if…what @#%$ if? I don’t know what else to say to you here Jo. It doesn’t really matter what I have to say anyway because you’re still going to do and think what you want.”

“You know what? We should head back, Cassie will be home any minute from Taylor’s and I think we should talk about how we’re going to tell her that you’re leaving. She’s going to be heartbroken so we’ll have to be delicate when telling her.” Joey stood up and brushed her butt free of any dirt or grass that had gathered there while sitting on the ground.

“Let me be the one to tell her. I’ll take her tonight and spend some time with her and I’ll tell her. Please let me do this Jo. That little girl is my world and I feel that I should be the one that does this.”

“She’s going to miss you like crazy, you know that right? We’re both going to miss you more than anything. You are so important to our daily routine and it’s going to be hard getting use to you not being here everyday.”

“I’m going to miss you guys too just as much, but I will be back. I will still need to wash and dry my clothes after all.”

“You really know how to ruin a moment, do you know that?”

“Yeah, but you love me anyway.”

“Yeah, I do. Come on, let’s go see if Pacey mastered the art of putting up a tent yet.”

“What’s up with that anyway? Were you guys going to camp out tonight or something?”

“It was for Cassie and I, but now that you’re taking her there’s no point in putting it up.”

“Why don’t you and Pacey spend the night in it? A nice romantic night under the stars, wrapped in each other’s arms, gazing up at the stars while the fire burns keeping you both warm.”

“Oh god…could you get anymore cheesy?” Joey rolled her eyes and linked her arm through Danielle’s as they made their way back to the B&B.

After telling Pacey about Danielle’s impending move they sat in front of the fire talking enjoying the feeling of being wrapped up in each others arms.

It was a clear night and the stars were shining brightly across the sky, the sound of crickets and the fire crackling were the only sounds they could hear around them.

Pacey felt Joey shiver as he held her tightly against his chest.

“Are you cold?” He asked rubbing his hands over her bare arms.

“Not really, it was just a chill.”

“Do you want me to get you a blanket, a sweater, anything?”

“No I’m good, really Pace.”

“Okay, I guess I’ll just have to keep you warm then.” He wrapped his arms around her small frame tightly and nuzzled her neck letting the soft scent of her shampoo fill his nostrils.

“Hey Pace…”

“Yeah.”

“Do you remember all the times we did this in the past?”

“Of course I do Jo. I remember everything. How could I ever forget any of the time we spent together? Those were the best times of my life, those were the happiest times in my life and everything that has happened to me while I was away, fails in comparison.”

“Do you ever wish you could go back and be that happy again?”

“I don’t know about that Jo, I’m pretty happy right now. I have the a beautiful woman in my arms, how could I not be happy?” He kissed her temple.

“You know what would make me really happy right now?”

“No what?”

“It would make me really happy to get inside that tent and have it like the old days.”

“Like the old days, huh?” He winked at her.

“Well maybe not exactly like the old days, but you know what I mean.” Joey got up and took Pacey by the hand leading him to the opening flap of the tent.

Once inside Pacey was arranging the pillows and blankets that they would be sleeping on. Having everything situated he looked over at Joey who was watching his every move.

“Something wrong Potter?”

“No, I was just watching you.”

“Did you see anything that you like?”

“Oh yeah. I see a whole lot that I like.” She arched an eyebrow at him and she joined him on the floor of the tent.

“And what’s that?” He asked her leaning into her brushing his lips lightly against hers.

“You.” Joey stated snaking her arms around his neck she kissed him fully, parting his lips with her tongue as she looked for the entrance she wanted. Allowing her entrance his hands roamed over her back as they kissed each other for what felt like an eternity.

Pulling back Joey peeled his shirt from his body she bent her head down and caught one of his nipples between her teeth while her hands roamed over his muscular back, coming to rest just above his waistband. Hooking her fingers inside the waist of his shorts, Joey slid her fingers along to the front of them. Unbuttoning them and sliding his zipper along his rigid length, Joey pushed them over his hips and let them fall to where his knees met the ground.

Sliding her finger up his length, she felt him shudder and it made her smile as she continued her assault on his nipples, alternating back and forth between the two. Tangling his fingers in her silky locks Pacey brought her lips up to meet his and could feel her hardened nipples through the fabric of her shirt against his chest.

Pressing his lips more firmly against hers, he ran his tongue along her teeth before plunging it deep into her moist craven seeking dominance.

Toying with the hem of her shirt briefly he let his fingers wander up her sides, brushing the underside of her breasts with his thumbs and leaving a trail of goose bumps in their wake. Feeling that she wasn't wearing a bra Pacey swept his thumbs across her hard nipples bringing them to the stiffest peek possible.

"Take it off Pacey." She demanded pulling away and lifting her arms above her head to allow him to remove the offending garment.

Lifting her shirt over her head he threw it off to the side. Bending his head he captured her taut nipple between his lips and suckled her gently as he laid her back settling on the few pillows that were there. Kicking his shorts the rest of the way off Pacey placed open mouth kisses up her stomach, tracing the outline of her rib cage with his tongue and making sure to taste every part of her that he could.

She was addicting and this was one addiction that he didn't want a cure for.

Moving his kisses further up her body he took her rosy tip into his mouth and swirled his tongue around bringing to the stiffest peek possible before pulling back and blowing cool air on it. Sliding his hand down her body he found her core and could feel the heat emanating through the material of her shorts. With the lightest of touches he rubbed her along her sex, adding pressure when his thumb reached her clit.

"Pacey." She sighed as her hips bucked against his hand.

"Yeah Jo?" He mumbled against her breast as he continued to rub her clothed lower half.

She didn't respond to him with words. She knew what she wanted him to do and she didn't want to wait for him to do it. Reaching down she quickly undid her shorts and pulled them down her legs, leaving her completely naked before him now. Letting her legs fall open to him she took his hand in hers she lead him to where she wanted to be touched, to where she needed to be touched.

"Impatient much Jo?" He asked her as he slid his finger along her sex and then penetrated her.

Taking his face in her hands she brought his lips back to hers, tracing the outline of his lips with her tongue she teased him by not kissing him fully. Every time he would lean in, she would pull away, making him want her even more.

Adding another finger he slid them in and out of her heated depths while drawing circles around her engorged clit with his thumb. Joey moaned and her head lolled back at the sensations he was sending throughout her body. With her head thrown back Pacey finally captured her lips with his and he plunged his tongue into her mouth mimicking the movements of his fingers.

Bringing her close to the edge but never allowing her to go over Pacey continued sliding his fingers slowly in and out of her heated depths. Lifting her hips grinding against his hand Joey looked for the release he was denying her, only to be let down again by Pacey removing his fingers from inside her and moving his hand away from her swollen clitoris.

Growing impatient with him Joey pushed him onto his back and straddled his waist, soaking the front of his boxers with her arousal.

“Is that how you want to play it Pacey? Because two can play at that game.” She said sliding her sex up and down his erection.

“Play what Jo? What game?” He asked grabbing her ass and thrusting his hips upwards. He could feel her wetness seep through the fabric of his boxers and the need to be inside her, feeling her tightness surround him, and making her scream his name over and over again was consuming his every thought. All he wanted to do now was make every one of those things happen.

“Joey, get a condom. I need to be inside of you, now.” He told breathlessly lifting his hips up and sliding his boxers down.

“Nu uh Pace. I’m not even close to being done with you yet.” Joey licked her way down his chest, letting the ends of her hair sweep along his bare skin. Dipping her tongue in his navel, dragging it down through his happy trail until she could taste the bubble of pre cum that had formed at his tip.

Gripping him from the base of his @#%$ she stroked him slowly back up to his tip, swiping her thumb over his sensitive flesh. Feeling his body shudder with pleasure she lowered her head and took only his tip into her mouth. Sucking, nibbling, and circling her tongue around the mass of nerve endings in the head of his @#%$ she could her his breathing quicken and feel his hands tangle throughout her hair urging her to take him fully into the dark recesses of her mouth. Ignoring his silent pleas she ran her tongue along his length, stopping at the base Joey pulled back and blew cool air on the area she had just wet.

His @#%$ jumped at her actions and Pacey moaned like a dying man at her ministrations. Never before had he been so turned on by a woman, never before had he wanted a woman as badly as he wanted Joey, never before had he been truly in love with a woman as he was with her.

Moving further down she took one of his testicles into her mouth and massaged it gently with her tongue; turning to the other one she bathed it with the same attention while scrapping her nails along his outer thighs.

“Jesus Christ Joey.” He hissed through clenched teeth.

Giving him a sexy smile she finally engulfed him completely. Pacey watched as her head bobbed up and down his shaft. She was doing it at a painfully slow pace and Pacey thought for sure that she was out to kill him. Even though she was sucking him slowly he could feel the familiar tingle in his balls and knew that he was about to explode. His breathing quickened and his legs tightened as he could feel it coming from the pit of his stomach.

Joey knew he was about to cum and she wasn’t ready for him to just yet, so she pulled away before it was too late. If playing tortuous games was what Pacey wanted, then that was what Pacey was going to get. Plus, she was out to prove a point. She wanted to make him beg, make him beg her for his release, make him beg as though his life depended on it.

Kissing her way back up his body she positioned him at her entrance, but wouldn’t lower herself onto him. Joey smiled slyly as she watched his face scrunch up with a look of pain and pleasure.

Shifting slightly, she allowed only his tip to be bathed by her wetness. Pacey grabbed her hips and tried to enter her completely, but Joey lifted up and stopped him.

“Uh uh uh, Pace. Patience.” She shook her head at him and took his hands in her own, settling back to the way she was before Pacey became over eager.

“You’re trying to kill me aren’t you?”

“I’m not trying to kill you Pacey.” She giggled lowering herself a little further down his throbbing @#%$.

“Well then you hate me. I mean, a person would only do this to someone they hated.” He squeezed her hands and thrusted his hips upwards once again in attempt to feel her silky walls surround him.

“Pacey, do you actually think that I would do this with someone I hate? If I could, just imagine what I would do to someone that I…” She stopped mid sentence as slid down another inch, her walls gripping him slightly.

“Joey.” He whined.

“Yeah Pace?” She questioned sliding back up again.

Although she loved this game and she loved the feeling of being in complete control, Joey wasn’t sure how much longer she keep it up. She wanted to feel him fill her, she wanted him to make her scream, she wanted to lose herself in him, and she wanted him to satisfy her the way no other man had ever done before.

“Please Jo. I need to be inside you. All the way inside of you.” He pleaded with her as he fought hard to keep from flipping her on her back and slamming into so hard that she wouldn’t be able to walk for a week.

“How bad do you want it Pace?”

“More than anything I’ve ever wanted before in my life.” He removed his hands from hers and placed them on her thighs urging her further down his length.

Giving into him Joey finally took him fully and completely inside her welcoming heat. Pacey let out a sigh of relief feeling her velvet walls accept him. He could feel her walls constrict as she adjusted to him and he felt like he had died and went to heaven.

Joey began riding him extremely slow. Bringing herself up and back down again she watched as his chest would rise and fall from trying to keep control of his own desires.

Gripping her hips once again he tried to speed up her pace, but again Joey stilled her movements.

“Joey please, for the love of god…” He grunted.

“Please what, Pace?”

“Go faster, harder, Jesus Christ…just please. Please Joey, I’m begging you here.”

“You’re begging me, huh?” She got a twinkle in her eyes as she moved a little quicker. “You mean you want it like this?” She asked riding him harder and faster as he requested.

The way her body looked above him, the way her breasts bounced, and the feeling of her sliding up and down his @#%$ made his eyes roll to the back of his head and left him speechless.

Knowing that he wouldn’t last much longer he wanted to make sure that Joey found her release before him. Reaching down to where their bodies were intimately joined, he rubbed her sensitive nub as she started to ride him more frantically feeling her own climax approaching.

Joey threw her head back and dug her nails into his thighs as her orgasm ripped through her body causing her to cry out his name.

Feeling her walls clamp him like a vice grip, her hot juices spill over him brought Pacey over the edge. He could feel the hot semen travel up his shaft and explode from his tip as he thrust into her hard one last time.

After riding out the waves of their orgasms, Joey laid her head on Pacey’s still heaving chest and traced his nipple with her finger.

Joey giggled softly.

“What’s so funny Potter? Is the fact that you just about killed me a few minutes ago?”

“No.”

“Then what are you giggling at?” He asked softly running his hands up and down her back.

“I’m giggling because I told you I could make you beg.”

“Ahhh, that.”

“Yeah that.” She giggled again.

“Yeah well, I only beg for the ones I love.”

Heeee! Pacey and his raging hard on.... I love to read about an angry hard on :lol

Now why can't he put it to some good use and pitch the bloody tent with it? Huh?

Hee!

Loved the jealous Mark/Pacey scene. Loved that Danielle is buggering off and leaving them all to it. All hot and bothered from the usual wonderful Angel nookie.

Re: How Did I Fall In Love With You (NC-17) (5/11)
Thanks Suzy, and Monica! :b

Danielle sat on the end of the dock alone staring out across the creek, dreading that in just a few short hours she would be leaving it all behind and starting a new chapter of her life. She had made a good life for herself here and made even better friends. Who was she kidding; the friends that she did make had quickly become her family. The thought of leaving them was eating her up inside.

Telling Cassie that she was leaving was one of the hardest things Danielle had ever had to do. She had been with Cassie since she was a baby and was there watching her grow into the perfect adorable little girl that she was today. It almost felt like she was leaving her own daughter behind.

As expected Cassie took the news hard. She cried all night long after Danielle told her and clung to her everyday since, wanting to spend as much time with her that she could before Danielle left. Cassie took some comfort in Danielle promising her that she would call every night and be back to see her on weekends when she wasn’t with her father. It wasn’t much and it wouldn’t even come close to everything that she would be missing out on but at least it was something.

“You’re gonna miss the view, huh?” Pacey said more as a statement than a question as he sat down next to her.

“Yeah.” She sighed heavily.

“You know, its funny how whenever someone moves away from here that they always end up right here at the end of the dock. At least I did when I moved.”

“You did?”

“Yeah, I waited out here for Joey and this is where we said our good-byes. Well right after we jumped in the creek fully clothed and acted like children for a bit.” Pacey smiled at the memory looking across the creek.

“You two were pretty close back then, huh?”

“As close as two people could be, yes. We shared everything and loved each other unconditionally when others didn’t. We understood one another like no one else could have.”

“And now?” Danielle probed. She had talked to Joey countless times about her and Pacey’s ‘relationship’ but she had yet to talk to Pacey.

“And now what?”

“And now how close are you?”

Pacey shrugged, “don’t know.”

“You don’t know? How can you not know Pacey?”

“Just what I said Danielle, I don’t know. I know that one minute she’s my best friend, the next I realize I’m falling in love with her and no matter how hard I tried to fight it, I couldn’t stop myself. And then one night we ended up as lovers and have been since, well up until a few weeks ago when I blurted out something that could be taken as a declaration of love. Since then, she’s been distant. When I go to touch her, hold her or kiss her, she pulls away like I’ve got the plague or something. And when I try to talk to her about us she changes the subject or walks away from me.”

“Did you mean it?” Danielle asked him softly. She could see the confusion and hurt all over his face as he talked about Joey’s behaviour, and she couldn’t figure out why Joey hadn’t told her about this confession of love.

“Did I mean what?”

“The something that could be classified as a declaration of love.”

“Of course I did. It may not have been how I envisioned telling her for the first time, but I did mean it.”

“And let me guess…she said nothing in return, right?”

“I didn’t say it to hear anything in return.”

“I know that Pacey. But you know that she’s scared, right? She’s scared of what she feels because she’s afraid of getting hurt again. And with you saying that you loved her, made her react in typical Joey fashion. She put the walls up again and she’s trying to push you away to save herself from future hurt.”

“Does she really think that I could hurt her? I would never do anything like that to her or Cassie for that matter. Those two mean the world to me and I would do everything in my power to protect them.”

“I know that and you know that Pace, but you have to make her know that.”

“And how do you suggest I do that when she won’t talk to me about anything concerning our relationship?”

“Make her listen Pacey.” She smirked at him, “you know if it came down to it you could always tie her up or pin her down and make her listen, but something tells me that you wouldn’t get much talking done then.” Danielle winked at him. She was going to miss teasing him all the time, but most of all she was going to miss the friendship they had built in the short period of time that they’ve known each other.

“What am I going to do without you here everyday?”

“Umm…pay for all the advice that I give you for free.” She nudged him playfully in the shoulder and he wrapped his arm around her.

“I’m going to miss you Danielle. I will have no one to feed my ego now.”

“Well you know, I could call you everyday and have you tell me what you’re wearing and with me being the visual person that I am will know how you look and I’ll compliment you.”

“Visual person, huh? So what if you call and I’m not wearing anything at all?”

“Oh, then that’s even better.”

Taking the remainder of the dishes off the table Danielle went inside to help Joey clean up from the farewell dinner she through for her. This would also give Danielle the opportunity to have a heart to heart with Joey.

“This is the last of them Jo.” Danielle put them in the sink to be rinsed before going in the dishwasher.

“Thanks.” Joey nodded without looking up. She knew Danielle could feel the tension around the table as they were eating and she knew Danielle well enough to know that now she’d want to talk about it. “Just ask your questions and stop looking at me like that.”

“How the hell did you know that without even looking at me?”

“For one I’m a mother and it’s instinct. And for another, I know you and I know there’s something you want to ask. It was written all over your face through dinner, so ask away.”

“Okay then, I want to know why you didn’t tell me about Pacey telling you in a round about way that he loved you. And I want to know why you’re pushing him away now.”

“Don’t beat around the bush or anything.” Joey turned and faced Danielle leaning against the counter.

“Yeah well in case you’ve forgotten, I’m on a time schedule here Jo so I don’t have time for dancing around the subject.”

“I didn’t tell you because I didn’t want your last two weeks here to be about me and my love life.”

“Well it looks like my last ten minutes will be. Okay Joey he told you, now how does that make you feel?”

“That’s just it Danielle. I don’t know how to feel about it. In one sense it felt great and wonderful to hear him say it, but then immediately following, the terrified feeling set in and kind of over took everything else.”

“Joey, you have to stop letting your fear get in the way. He loves you Jo and it’s tearing him up inside that you’re pushing him away like this. Tell him your fears Joey and work through this together before it’s too late and you push him to far and he gives up.”

She walked the short distance to Joey and wrapped her arms around her friend. “And that my dear is the last thing I say to you about this. Your love life is exactly that now…yours. Now you know that I love you and that I’ll always be right there if you ever need anything, but I don’t know what else to say to you about this.”

“I love you too and thank you for putting up with me and all my @#%$. I think I’ll talk to him tonight and try to explain it the best I can. Do you know how hard it is to explain something that you don’t fully understand yourself?”

“Not really, but I’m sure you’ll get through it.” She pulled away from Joey and looked at her with tears in her eyes. “Well I guess this is it. I’m off.”

“Want me to go get Cassie?” She asked with her eyes shining with unshed tears.

Danielle laughed wiping her cheeks of the tears that had fallen. “Would you look at us? You’d think that we were never going to see each other again. God, we’re a pair of saps.”

“Yeah we are.” Joey sighed, “Come on, let’s go get Cassie so that you two can say your good-bye’s and you can be on your way.”

They walked around back and saw Cassie sitting on Pacey’s lap in the chair swing while he read her a book.

Danielle walked up behind them and tapped Cassie on the shoulder. “Hey kiddo, it’s time for me to go now, come on and walk me to my car.” She held her hand out which Cassie took and Pacey helped her down to the ground.

The four of them made their way to Danielle’s car and she lifted Cassie up and put her on the hood.

Joey and Pacey stood back and let them have a few minutes. Instinctively he draped his arm around Joey and pulled her close to him, expecting her to pull away the way she had been lately. To his surprise she welcomed him and leaned her head against his chest.

“Okay, so every night after dinner we talk on the phone and you tell me everything that you did during the day.” Danielle spoke to Cassie willing her tears to stay away.

Cassie nodded with her own eyes filling up with tears and falling freely down her face.

Danielle cupped her little face in her hands and wiped her tears away. “Hey there, no tears okay.”

“I’m sorry Auntie Danielle. I’m just going to miss you and I’m sad that you’re moving.”

“Don’t be sorry honey. You know what though? We’ll be talking all the time, I’ll be back to visit, you’ll come visit me in Boston and I’m sure you’ll have lots of plans over the summer too…so you won’t have time to miss me munchkin.”

“Yes I will.” She whispered.

“Aww Cassie, I’m going to miss you too sweetheart.” Danielle pulled her close to her and hugged her tightly as the tears she had been fighting trickled down her face. Cassie threw her little arms around her neck and squeezed her as tight as she could.

Pacey and Joey slowly walked over to them and they waited for the two to separate.

“Cassie…” Joey said softly, “Auntie Danielle has to go now honey.”

After they pulled apart Joey helped Cassie down and she stood there holding her daughter’s hand as Pacey said his good-byes to Danielle.

“You drive safe, okay?”

“Always.”

“Good. I’ll talk to you soon Danielle.” He gave her a hug and whispered ‘thank you’ in her ear before placing a small kiss on her cheek.

He backed away from her and let Joey have her turn while he took over holding Cassie’s hand.

“You better call me the second you get home.”

Danielle rolled her eyes. “Yes mom.”

“Don’t you yes mom me, I mean it.”

“I know Joey and don’t worry I will.”

“Good now come here and give me a hug.”

They shared a final embrace, shared their ‘I love you’s’ and then Joey, Cassie and Pacey watched as she drove away.

Waiting for Joey to finish telling Cassie her bedtime story Pacey sat in the living room staring blankly at the TV not paying attention to the images or sounds that were emitted from it. The only thing going through his mind was the conversation he was hoping to have with Joey. He had so much that he wanted to say to her, so much that he needed to say, so much to tell her that he didn’t know where to begin. He decided that he would just open his mouth and whatever came out first…that’s where he’d begin.

Pacey was so wrapped up in his own thoughts that he didn’t see Joey until she sat down next to him and let out a slow sigh.

“Hey.”

“Hey yourself.” She smiled at him and turned her attention towards the television set. “Whatcha watching?”

“Nothing really. Did you get Cassie to sleep okay?” He reached over letting his fingers play with the ends of her hair before running his hand over her back.

“Yeah, I don’t know what Mark said to her, but after she talked to him her mood improved one hundred percent.” She said tiredly moving closer to him to allow him better access to her back.

Mark called tonight just like he did every night before Cassie went to bed. Cassie looked forward to it and tonight Joey was thankful that he did. With Cassie being as upset as she was it was good for her to talk to her father. And whatever he said to her, did the trick. Joey was curious as to what was said, but she didn’t ask. What they talked about was between them and it was their time together, she didn’t feel right imposing on that.

“Well I’m glad that whatever he said helped. And what about you? How are you doing?” He asked her lightly pulling her down so that her head rested on his thigh and he continued to rub small circles on her back.

“I’m doing okay.”

“Would you tell me if you weren’t?” Pacey asked her softly brushing the hair off her face and tucking it behind her ear.

“Of course I would.” Joey answered him becoming more relaxed by his actions. She couldn’t remember the last time she felt more at ease with him and wanted this feeling to last for as long as possible.

“Good.” Pacey took a deep breath as he prepared himself to begin the conversation that he had been going over and over in his mind. “Jo, I was kind of hoping that we could talk.”

“Sure Pace. About what?”

“Us.” He answered simply.

Joey didn’t say anything in response to what Pacey had said; all she did was nod her head.

“I just want you to listen to me Joey. I mean I really want you to listen to what I have to say and hear it.” He looked down at her and continued to stroke her hair as he began saying what was on his mind.

“Jo…I know you’ve been acting weird lately because of what I said that night and I’d like to tell you that I’m sorry and tell you that I didn’t mean it but I can’t do that. I can’t do that because I mean it Joey and I’m sorry if that scares you, but you have to know that I’m scared too. I never expected to come back here and fall in love with my best friend Jo, but I did. I have fallen so deep in love with you that I can’t go through one minute of the day without thinking about you or wanting to touch you.”

Pacey paused for a minute before continuing.

“But you keep me at arms length Jo and I don’t know what to think or what to do. I don’t know what we are to each other.” He spoke softly with his voice full of love. “Are we best friends? Lovers? Or are we more than that? I guess I just need to know that I’m more to you than just someone that fills that void in your life. I need to know that I’m more to you than just a warm body because I want to be more than that Joey. I want to be the last person you see before you close your eyes at night and the first person you see when you open them in the morning. I want to be the man that loves you the way you should be loved. So, I guess what I really want to know Joey is…do you want for me to be that man?”

He took a deep breath as he waited for her to say something, anything. Pacey started to worry after Joey still didn’t say anything after a few minutes passed.

“Jo?” He said her name and leaned forward to see if he could read her expression.

When he saw her face he could read her expression clearly alright. She was asleep. Pacey let out a small chuckle and shook his head. “Leave it to you to fall asleep while I’m pouring my heart out to you.”

He shifted slightly off the sofa being careful not to wake her and gathered her in his arms and carried her off to her room. Placing her on her bed he removed her clothes leaving Joey in her tank top and underwear. Pacey took off all his clothes but his boxers and climbed into bed behind Joey pulling the blankets up over them.

“I love you Jo.” He whispered in her ear as he held her close to his body.

Joey sat at the table having her morning coffee and reading the paper. Pacey had left before she got up and left her a note that he would call her later. He always did that when he stayed the night. He would get up before anyone else and leave. Joey knew he did it so that Cassie wouldn’t see him in her bed and start asking questions.

The sound of the door opening and closing caused Joey to look up. She thought maybe it was Pacey coming back because he had forgotten something but when she looked up she saw Mark standing in front of her.

“Mark, what are you doing here?” The confusion in her voice was evident. She wondered why he was standing in her kitchen when he wasn’t supposed to pick up Cassie for another two days.

“Didn’t Cassie tell you?”

“No, tell me what?”

“Well when I talked to her last night she was upset about Danielle leaving, so I told her that I would take some time off of work to spend with her. Looks like I’m going to be in Capeside for a bit.”

Re: How Did I Fall In Love With You (NC-17) (5/11)
Heehee - here comes my favorite parts of this story. :b

Joey stood watching from the kitchen window as Mark tried yet again to get the kite air borne. He had been at it for about forty-five minutes and Joey could see the determination on his face that he wasn’t giving up until he managed to get it to fly. The only problem was that there was no wind today, but Cassie wanted to do this so Mark would continue to try to please her.

Unable to turn her attention away from the scene in front of her, her eyes followed Mark as he took off running, looking at the kite that was behind him instead of where he going. Joey heard Cassie yell out to him to look out but it was too late. Mark tripped over one of Cassie’s toys and went flying through the air rather than the kite.

Joey covered her mouth to try to keep herself from laughing, but she couldn’t suppress it. Mark lay motionless on the ground with his hands over his face, his pride being the only thing that was hurt. As Cassie went to him to make sure that he was alright, he grabbed her and started tickling her relentlessly.

The squeal of Cassie’s laughter surrounded Joey and as much as she hated the idea of Mark being around when he first got there, she had to admit that it had done Cassie a world of good. The time he spent with her helped Cassie deal with not having Danielle around everyday.

While Mark’s presence was good for Cassie, it wasn’t so good for Joey and Pacey. Their already strained relationship was suffering even more now. Every time Joey had a minute alone with Pacey, Mark would appear and make it next to impossible for them to talk or have any alone time.

Hearing the phone ring Joey turned her attention away from the window and reached for the cordless. Glancing at the call display she recognized it as Pacey’s number.

“Hello.” She giggled. The image of Mark falling was still fresh in her mind.

“Hey there beautiful. Whatcha doing?”

“Watching Mark make an ass out of himself.” Joey laughed again moving back to the window where Mark and Cassie were now busy chasing each other around the yard.

“Ahhhh, sounds like fun. I’m sorry I missed it.” Pacey chuckled. “So, other than that, what are you doing? Any plans for the day?”

“Not really. You?”

“Well, I’m all done at the restaurant for the day and I thought that after I had my shower that I’d come by to see my two favorite girls.”

“Hmmm…” Joey looked out at Cassie and Mark goofing around with one another. Joey knew that if Pacey came over that they wouldn’t have any time to themselves and right now she wanted that. She wanted to talk to him, wanted to feel his arms around her, and she wanted to feel the softness of his lips pressed against hers. She wanted all of him with no interruptions.

“What is hmmm for, Jo?”

“Would you settle for one of your favorite girls coming over there to see you instead?”

“You’re okay with Cassie coming all this way by herself?” He joked.

“Oh, you’re a funny guy today. So, do you want me to come or not?”

“How soon can you get here?”

“Just let me make sure it’s okay with Mark that I leave for a bit and then I’m on my way.”

“I’ll see you then Jo.”

“Bye Pacey.”

“Bye.”

Joey hung up the phone and went out back to where Mark and Cassie were.

“Hey. I see you finally gave up on the kite, huh?” Joey asked sitting on the bench of the picnic table next to Mark, watching Cassie throw rocks into the creek.

“Yeah, we’re going to wait until a day when it’s actually possible for it to fly. Unless you want to give it a go.”

“Not likely. I’d end up just like you did…on my butt.”

“You saw that, huh?

“Oh yeah.” Joey nodded and let out a small giggle.

“Not one of my finer moments, I’m afraid.”

“No it wasn’t, but I have seen you do more ridiculous things.”

“Yes you have.” Mark smiled at her warmly at the memories of them together. They did have some good times together and lately he had been remembering them more often than not.

“Hey, do you think you could stay with Cassie while I went out for a bit?”

“Sure, where are ya going?”

“Just out.”

“Just out like you’re going to the grocery store and you’ll be back in a bit or just out like you’re going to see Pacey and you have no idea of when you’ll be back?”

“Out as in I’m going to see Pacey.”

“So, you and Pacey…is it serious?” Mark held his breath as he waited for her to answer. Something in him wanted Joey to say no, but he saw the way Pacey looked at her and the few times he had walked in on them told him that there was something definitely more than friendship going on.

As much as Mark didn’t want to like Pacey, he had to admit that Pacey was great with Cassie. Mark had watched the way they interacted together and he could see why Cassie was so fond of Pacey but as hard as he tried, he still couldn’t help the pang of jealously he felt when Pacey was around. He not only felt it when it came to Cassie, but he felt it when it came to Joey as well.

“Mark, I’m not discussing that with you.” Joey stood up and looked down at him. “So, I’ll be back in a bit, okay?”

“Sure Jo. I’ll see you later.”

He watched as she walked over to Cassie and gave her a hug and kiss goodbye. He fought with everything he had not to watch her as she walked passed him to her car, but it was useless. His gaze followed her and came to rest on the gentle sway of her hips.

Joey approached Pacey’s apartment door and contemplated knocking before reaching for the handle and opening the door. She knew Pacey all to well and knew that he hardly ever kept his doors locked, well that and the fact that he was expecting her.

In front of her was Pacey on the couch in nothing but a pair of boxers and a magazine propped on his chest. The sight of him barely clothed made her realize just how much she had missed him since Mark’s arrival and she felt a jolt of electricity shoot straight to her core.

She closed the door quietly behind her and crept over to where he was.

“Hey Jo.” Pacey spoke from behind the magazine causing Joey to jump.

“Jesus Christ Pacey, you scared the hell out of me.”

“Just like you were trying to do to me just now.” He lowered the book and grinned at her.

“No, I was trying to surprise you, not give you a heart attack. How the hell did you know I was here anyway? I was quiet coming in.” She asked straddling his waist, sliding her hands up over his taut stomach muscles to his chest and down again. The beginning of his arousal pressed against her already heated core.

“I always know when you’re near Joey. I can feel you.” Pacey said sincerely with his hands resting on her thighs.

“And I can feel you.” She smiled seductively; grinding herself against him. Joey lowered her mouth to his chest and placed a heated path of kisses alone his skin, before finally meeting his lips in a searing kiss.

Pacey gently put his hands on her shoulders and pushed her back. It killed him to do it, but he had hardly seen her since Mark decided to grace Capeside with his presence and Pacey didn’t want the first chance they actually had to be alone to be about sex. Too much of their relationship or whatever it is that they were having was based solely on sex and he wanted that to change.

“Pacey, what are you doing?” Joey asked sitting back on his thighs.

“Well Jo, let’s see…you just got here, we’ve hardly had any time together let alone talk in almost a week and the first thing you want to do as soon as you walk in the door is have sex.”

“This here Pace…” she began sliding her index finger along the bulge of his boxers, “this here tells me that you’re thinking the same thing I am.”

Taking her hand he moved it away from his throbbing member. “No it doesn’t Joey. I don’t need to have you near me for my body to react to you. All I have to do is think about you, think about how beautiful you are, how your smile can light up the darkest room, how great you smell, how wonderful it feels to have you in my arms and my body reacts, but it doesn’t mean that I want to have sex with you all the time.”

Pacey shifted and Joey moved allowing him to sit up. He got up from the couch and walked towards his room with Joey right behind him.

“Do you know how long it’s been since we have Pace?”

“I’m more than aware of how long it’s been Joey, but I’m also aware of what happened after we had sex the last time.” Pacey pulled the shirt over his head that he had just taken out of his dresser drawer.

“What is that supposed to mean?”

“You know what it means Joey. It means that you started pulling away from me when I told you that I loved you.”

“Pacey…”

“Joey, I want to be more to you than just a warm body or someone that gets you off. I want to be that person that you talk to, that you want to wake up next to every morning and say goodnight to every night. But you’re not letting me be that person Jo and I don’t know what to do to make you feel that way.”

“That’s not fair Pace. I’m giving you what I can. I’m offering you everything that’s possible for me to offer.”

“You’re offering me your body Jo and that’s it!”

“You don’t get it, do you?”

“Obviously I don’t. Why don’t you explain it to me?”

“Do you know what it’s like to give yourself completely to someone Pace? Do you know what it’s like to love someone with every single fibre of your being and have it not be enough? Do you know what it feels like to know that after you gave everything you had that it still wasn’t enough, that you weren’t enough?” Joey took a deep breath before continuing. “Do you know what it’s like to wake up one morning and have the person that you thought you were going to spend the rest of your life with tell you that they don’t love you anymore?”

“Joey, I’m not Mark and I could never do that to you.”

“Did you tell the same thing to that woman you lived with Pace? Did you tell her that you’d love her forever too and then one day up and leave her?”

“Joey you can’t compare my relationship with Louise or my feelings for her to my relationship or feelings for you. The way I felt about her and the way I feel about you are two totally and completely different kinds of love. Yes I loved her, but I couldn’t picture my future with her. With you I can and with you I want to have a future. Why can’t you see that?”

“I’m trying Pacey, I really am, but right now this is all I can give you. I’m trying to get past all of this, but I’ve built these walls Pace and it’s going to take time.” Joey turned and walked out of his room.

“Where are you going Jo?” Pacey followed her and stopped Joey from opening the door that lead out of his apartment.

“I’m leaving Pacey. I came here to see you and spend time with you because I missed you, not fight with you. So, I’m gonna go and I’ll call you later, okay?”

Without waiting for him to answer, Joey opened the door and walked out of Pacey’s apartment.

Mark walked down to the end of the dock to where Joey was sitting and sat down next to her.

“Cassie’s asleep now.” Mark spoke softly looking out across the creek.

“Thanks Mark.”

“Hey, what are daddy’s for? Besides, I love putting her to bed and reading her a bedtime story.” Mark paused and looked over at Joey, noticing the forlorn expression on her face. “Joey, are you alright? You’ve been out here a long time, did you and Pacey have a fight?”

Joey remained silent as her conversation with Pacey replayed again in her mind.

“Jo?”

“Yeah, I guess you could say we had a fight.” She sighed heavily.

“Do you want to talk about it?” Mark offered trying to sound concerned, but deep down he was happy to hear that they had fought.

“Not really, but thanks anyway. I think I’m just going to head inside and go to bed now.”

Mark looked over at Joey for the millionth time in the past few days he saw the young girl he fell in love with. The young girl that stole his heart, made him weak in the knees, the young girl that eventually grew into a beautiful woman, the beautiful woman that was the mother of his child.

Watching her with their daughter made him wonder how and why he ever let her go. The time the three of them spent together lately made him feel like they were a real family, made him realize what he was missing out on and made him want nothing more than to be with them.

Joey stood up and before she had a chance to walk away, Mark grabbed hold of her hand and stopped her from leaving. He stood up and was now face to face with her.

“Jo, I don’t know what’s going on between you and Pacey, but I have to be honest with you here…these past few days, being with you and Cassie like a family has been wonderful.”

“Mark…”

Mark cut her off before she could continue. “Joey, I know we could make it work if you gave us a chance.” He cupped her face in his hands as he moved his lips mere inches away from hers. “Tell me you’ll give us a chance, Jo.” He whispered as he lowered his mouth to hers, closing the gap between them, neither one of them noticing that Pacey had witnessed the encounter….

Re: How Did I Fall In Love With You (NC-17) (5/11)
LOL - Monica, if you were around when I first posted this at PoTL then you'd know that it took me a hell of a lot longer to update then. :lol I plan on updating the rest of this by the end of the weekend hopefully.

Pacey watched from a distance as Mark took Joey’s face in his hands and leaned in to kiss her. He didn’t need to see anymore to know exactly what was going on out there between them. He turned around and headed for his car, he needed to get as far away from Joey and Mark as possible. He needed to get as far away from the sight in front of him that had just brought his world crashing down around him. Pacey needed to go somewhere where he could dull the ache and pain he was feeling in his heart, deep down in his soul.

Driving down the darkened streets of Capeside Pacey found himself parked in front of the small little bar where he and Joey went to the night he first made love to her. The same night that made him the happiest guy in the world, but it was also that night that was to blame for the misery he was feeling now.

As much as he hated to admit it, having sex with Joey that first time and every time after that had been a mistake. They weren’t ready for that aspect of their relationship and now Pacey couldn’t help but wonder if they would have ever been ready. He couldn’t help but think that they never should have crossed that line over friendship. Yes, he was madly in love with her and wanted to be with her, but it was painfully obvious that she didn’t feel the same about him. All he was, was the ‘best friend with benefits’ and now he wasn’t sure if they could ever go back to the way they were before sex entered the picture.

With his hand on the door handle of the bar Pacey contemplated turning around and going home. But the memories of what transpired this afternoon flooded his mind and then he saw Mark moving in to kiss Joey. Right now more than anything he wanted to forget, if only for the night.

Mark cupped Joey’s face in his hands and took a deep breath as he finally pressed his lips to hers. Before Joey had a chance to react she felt his mouth on hers, his tongue trying to part her lips, begging for entrance.

Joey stood frozen. In the past when Mark would kiss her, she’d go weak in the knees and melt into his embrace. But that was the past. Mark was her past. And now she felt nothing, there was no spark, no jolt of electricity, nothing. Mark wasn’t Pacey and Joey didn’t get that feeling that she got when Pacey kissed her, held her, or just simply placed his hand in hers. With Pacey there was passion, her body hummed whenever she was near him. The sparks that ignited in her with his touch made her crave him, but most importantly it was the love she felt whenever he looked at her or kissed her.

This was wrong, everything about this situation was wrong and it didn’t feel right. Joey pulled her mouth away from Mark and stepped back, glaring at him for even attempting anything with her. He knew that she was with Pacey and granted they did have a fight, but it wasn’t an invitation for him to maul her.

“What the hell was that Mark?”

“Ummm...last time I checked, that would be considered a kiss Joey.”

“I know what it was, but what I want to know is why you felt the need to do that.”

“Why not?”

“Well maybe because I’m involved with someone.”

“Someone you’re not serious about.”

“Mark, you know nothing about my relationship with Pacey or how serious it is.”

“Oh come on Joey, anyone who sees you with Pacey can tell that things aren’t serious between you two. Especially someone whose knows first hand how you act when you are serious about someone and committed to that person. I see the way you are with him Jo, and you aren’t either of those things.” Mark stepped closer to her. “Now when we were together Jo,” he started running his hand up her arm. “When we were together, you had this fire in your eyes, I was the only one you saw, we could hardly keep our hands off each other Jo. Do you remember that?” Mark lifted her chin with his forefinger bringing her gaze to meet his and then rested his hands on her shoulders.

Joey looked in his eyes and then at each of his hands touching her. “First of all, if you knew what was good for you, you’d remove your hands from my body before you end up going for a late night swim. Got it?”

The look on her face told him that she was serious and he reluctantly let his hands drop to his sides.

“Secondly, we were seventeen Mark. We were kids. How appropriate would it be for Pacey and I to be pawing each other in front of Cassie? It’s called being mature and responsible Mark.”

“Can you honestly stand there and tell me that when I just kissed you that you felt nothing? That you didn’t remember what it felt like to be that age again, to have no responsibilities and to just go with what you were feeling? Can you tell me that it didn’t remind you of how great things once were with us, or how it was when we made love?”

Joey bit back her laugh. “Yes Mark, I can honestly tell you that I felt nothing and none of those memories came back to me.”

“Nothing? None?”

“What do you want me to tell you here Mark? That when you just took it upon yourself to kiss me that the only thing going through my mind was how wrong it felt and how it only made me think of Pacey. And how right it feels when Pacey kisses me, touches me, and makes love to me? Is that what you want to hear? Because that’s the only thing I felt.”

“I don’t believe you.”

“What?”

“Did I stutter Jo? I said I don’t believe you.”

“Well, I don’t know what else to say to make you believe me Mark.” Joey sighed out of frustration.

“You know why I don’t believe you Joey? Because not once have you mentioned the word love.”

“Huh?”

“You just described all physical things Joey. You made no mention of being in love with him. So, that leads me to believe that all the two of you have is a physical relationship. You can’t build a future on sex alone Jo.”

“You know Mark, I don’t have to tell you anything but if you must know exactly how Pacey makes me feel and how I feel about him then listen up because I’m only going to say it once.” Joey took a deep breath. “What I feel for Pacey goes beyond anything I’ve ever felt before. It goes beyond and surpasses anything I ever felt for you that I wouldn’t even know where to begin to describe it to you.” Joey stopped rambling and looked at Mark, the realization hitting her that she was saying all this to the wrong man. The man she should be saying this to is the man she walked away from earlier today. The man she told she needed time, but in reality all she needed was him and him alone.

“Mark, I need you to stay with Cassie for a little while.”

“Joey…”

“Listen Mark, you don’t want to be with me and you know it. I know that you care for me, but it’s not in a romantic sense. You care for me as the mother of your child and as a friend. It took us a long time to get to where we are and I don’t want to ruin that. Cassie needs for us to remain friends, so I’m going to forget that you kissed me tonight and I’m going to find Pacey and tell him everything I was about to tell you.” Joey stepped towards Mark and placed her hand on his arm. “He’s a wonderful man Mark and I know you must feel threatened by him when it comes to Cassie, but she has enough love for the both of you and you will never be replaced by anyone. You’re her father and no one will ever take that away from you.”

Joey turned and walked down the dock away from Mark as she made her way to Pacey, ready to lay her heart and soul bare to him, praying that he’d still want it and take it. Unlike the last time she walked away from him, Mark didn’t watch her. He waited until he heard her car pull away before he made his way down the dock and back into the house.

Joey couldn’t drive fast enough to Pacey’s apartment, her heart and her mind going faster than she was actually driving. Her heart was pumping with fear of finally giving herself to him totally and completely, but it was worth it, he was worth it, and they were worth it. Her mind raced with jumbled thoughts of what she was going to say to him when he opened the door to her.

Everything she needed to say and everything she wanted to say clouded her mind as she stood in front of his door trying to calm her nerves. She wasn’t sure he’d want to see her after the way she left earlier in the day and she wasn’t sure if he would be willing to listen to her apology of being such a blind, scared idiot for so long by not admitting that she loved him and needed him more than she had ever loved or needed anyone.

Taking a deep breath she whispered, “I can do this,” before raising her hand to knock, waiting for Pacey to open the door to her and hopefully welcome her with open arms.

Nothing.

She knocked again and waited to see him appear.

Still nothing.

Trying the door handle she found that it was locked. Digging her keys out of her purse, she found the key he had given her just after he moved in and unlocked the door and was met with darkness, the only light in the apartment was the light shining in from the hallway.

“Pace, are you here?” She called out as she quickly walked over and switched the lamp on.

Getting no answer she walked throughout his apartment only to find that he wasn’t home. Joey checked her watch and noted how late it was getting, so if he was out somewhere, he should be home soon. Now the only question on her mind was where he could be.

Sitting down on the sofa she decided to wait, what she had to say to him she had put off for too long and it couldn’t wait until morning.

Their earlier conversation went through her mind again as she laid down waiting for him.

“Joey, I want to be more to you than just a warm body or someone that gets you off. I want to be that person that you talk to, that you want to wake up next to every morning and say goodnight to every night. But you’re not letting me be that person Jo and I don’t know what to do to make you feel that way.”

She knew he was that person.

She could see it and know she wanted him to know it. It was just a matter of waiting for him to get home to tell him.

Tapping his glass on the bar, Pacey signalled to the bartender that he was ready for another drink. He didn’t know how many he had had or how long he had been there, but he did know that it wasn’t enough or long enough because he could still see Mark and Joey clear as day, kissing in his mind.

“Are you sure you need another one son? You’ve had quite a few already.”

“I’m fine. As long as I’m paying, you keep them coming, okay?”

“You driving?” The older gentleman asked waiting for Pacey to answer before giving him his drink.

“No. I’ll be taking a cab home. Now will you give me my beer please?”

The bartender just nodded and put the bottle in front of Pacey taking one of the bills that sat on the bar to pay for his drink.

Taking a long drink from the bottle he set it back down on the bar and ran his hands through his hair. No matter how hard he tried he couldn’t stop thinking about her and how much she and Cassie had become his world over the past few months. All he wanted to do was love them and try and build a life with them and now that wasn’t going to happen.

“I’m trying Pacey, I really am, but right now this is all I can give you. I’m trying to get past all of this, but I’ve built these walls Pace and it’s going to take time.”

She didn’t want time.

She wanted him.

Lifting the bottle to his lips again he heard someone move the barstool next to him and felt it when they sat down.

“Hey there.” He heard the sultry voice in his ear.

Pulling his attention away from the bottle and giving it to the woman next to him he offered her a small smile. “Hey yourself.”

“Feel like buying a lady a drink?”

Giving her a once over, Pacey nodded his head in agreement and waved the bartender over. “Sure.”

Re: How Did I Fall In Love With You (NC-17) (7/4)
Pacey watched as Shannon finished off the rest of her Long Island Iced Tea. Shannon, that was her name. She was only supposed to sit and have one drink with him, but one drink quickly turned into four.

Shannon seemed nice enough, she was gorgeous, funny and had a great personality and from what Pacey could see, but even though it appeared that she had all these great traits, she was lacking the most important one of all. She wasn’t Joey.

The way she talked to him with a seductive tone in her voice, looked at him with desire filled eyes, and nonchalantly placed her hand on his leg allowing her fingertips to brush against the inside of his thigh, only made Pacey realize how wrong it was for him to be there. This wasn’t helping him any. He had come there attempting to forget about what he saw take place at the B&B, but the only thing that being there was accomplishing was that he wished it was Joey talking to him that way, looking at him that way, touching him that way, and wanting him.

Him.

Not Mark.

Maybe if this had been a different time, different place or a different circumstance, Pacey would gladly give into Shannon’s endless flirting, take her home with him and give her exactly what she wanted, which was him naked above her making her scream out in pure ecstasy. But the time wasn’t right and she wasn’t the right woman. Even in his drunken state, no matter how hard he tried to forget her, Joey was still first and foremost on his mind, consuming his every thought.

“So, what do ya say Pacey? Ready for another one?” She asked nodding her head towards his now empty bottle waving the bartender over to them.

“Actually Shannon…”

“Two more of the same?” The bartender interrupted Pacey mid sentence.

“You know what, bring the lady another one, but I think I’m about ready for that cab now.”

“Sure thing. One Long Island Iced Tea and one cab coming right up.”

“Cab? You’re leaving? But we were just getting to know one another Pacey. You can’t go yet.” She whined.

“I’m afraid that with the way you want to get to know me is a way that I’m just not interested in Shannon.” Pacey got up off the bar stool, he thought it would be best if he waited for his ride outside.

Shannon stood in front of him, her breasts pressed against him and she snaked her arms around his neck. “Pacey, you can’t tell me that you’re not interested in me. I can see it when you look at me.” She leaned closer to him, standing on her tiptoes bringing her lips within an inch of his. “You want me Pacey, and now the only question is…is that cab taking us to your place or mine?” She whispered moving forward trying to capture his lips with her own, but Pacey turned his head and placed his hands on her shoulders fending her off.

“Shannon, I’m sure you’re a great girl and all, but I’m not interested.” Pacey released her and stepped away from her. “Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going home.”

“It’s your loss, you know. You don’t know what you’re missing.”

Pacey turned his back to her and sighed heavily, his mind automatically drifting back to Joey. “Unfortunately, I do.” He mumbled under his breath pushing the door open and stepping into the night air.

“Where to?” The driver asked Pacey as he slid into the back seat closing the door soundly behind him.

He sat there for a minute contemplating where he wanted to go. Every beer he had consumed couldn’t erase the image of Mark’s lips on Joey’s. Every time he closed his eyes he could see the love of his life slipping further and further away. Every time he opened them he could see her in front of him with her lop sided smile, her laughing eyes, and every beautiful curve he had spent the past few months memorizing.

It was no wonder that he found himself telling the driver to take him to the Potter B&B.

“Okay man.” He called over his shoulder and went to drive away.

“Wait.” Pacey stopped him. What if she didn’t want to see him? What if she told him that what they had was over? What if Mark was there taking his place beside her in her bed?

Pacey could feel his anger start to build up again in the pit of his stomach imaging Mark touching Joey in all the places that turned her on. He was imagining him suckling her breasts softly making her moan with delight. He could see Mark with his head between her thighs making her grip the sheets so tightly that her knuckles turned white. He could hear her cry out his name in the throes of passion, the name that used to be his.

Every time he had touched her, every time he had kissed her, and every time they had made love flooded Pacey’s memory as he remained sitting there wanting to tell the guy in the front seat to take him home. But then all the questions that plagued his mind screamed for answers.

“Meters running, where am I taking you?”

Taking a deep breath he knew what he had to do and he knew that Joey would be pissed for him showing up so late, drunk nonetheless, but he had to know exactly where he stood. He had to know that the look he saw in her eyes when she looked at him wasn’t a figment of his imagination. He had to know that when she said she needed time that she really meant it. Or worst-case scenario, if what she meant by time, was that she really needed and wanted Mark. Either way, he had to know.

“The Potter B&B.”

“You sure this time?”

“Yeah.” Pacey responded leaning his head against the back of the seat going over in his mind what he would say to Joey when he saw her.

First he would apologize for showing up in the middle of the night, quickly followed by an apology for showing up intoxicated. Then what? I love you? Don’t go back to that @#%$, who will only hurt you and Cassie again? Marry me?

Pacey shook his head trying to clear his mind. All his thoughts were jumbled together. The truth was, he didn’t know what he was going to say. Hopefully when he saw Joey all the words he wanted to say to her would just fall into place.

“Hey buddy, we’re here.” The cabbie called out to Pacey glancing in his rear-view mirror and assumed Pacey was asleep by his head resting gently on the seat.

“What do I owe ya?” He asked opening his eyes waiting for them to adjust to the darkness.

“Twelve bucks.”

Pacey leaned forward reaching behind his back to get his wallet out of his pants pocket and he caught a glimpse of a car. Not just anyone’s car, but Mark’s car.

Pacey felt his heart fall from his chest and his world crumble around him for the third time in a short span of a few hours. Mark’s car being here in the middle of the night could only mean one thing. He was in there with Joey doing God knows what to her, with her.

“You know what?” Pacey said closing his wallet. “You can take me home.” He said slumping down in his seat. “I’ve got the answers I was looking for.” He whispered to himself before giving the driver his home address.

Joey looked at the clock again for what seemed like the millionth time since she got to Pacey’s.

One thirty.

It was one thirty and Pacey still wasn’t home yet. Joey’s mind was running rampant with thoughts of where he could be. She had called the restaurant in hopes that he was there, but there was no answer. She couldn’t think of anywhere else he could be, so she just sat and waited, praying that he would walk through the door soon so she could tell him that she loved him, needed him, wanted him.

Hearing the key enter the keyhole she stood up waiting to see him enter the apartment. Her heart started to beat faster, her stomach in knots and her hands getting clammy as she was about to lay her heart on the line and give it to him. Praying that it wasn't too late and that he'd take what she was offering. Herself.

“What the hell?” Pacey said opening the door slowly when he realized it was unlocked, knowing full well that he had locked it before he left earlier.

He was surprised to see Joey standing there and instead of the warm feeling he got whenever she was before him, he felt anger, hurt and betrayal.

“Pacey, where have you been?” Joey asked stepping closer to him. “I’ve been sitting here waiting for you to get home.”

“Out.” He replied flatly. “What are you doing here Jo?” He knew why she was there, she was there to tell him that she and Mark had decided to give it another try and Pacey wasn’t about to let her see how much it was killing him inside at the thought of the two of them together.

“I came here to talk to you Pacey. I have a few things that I need to say to you and I need you to listen to me.”

“I know what you’re here to say Joey and you can save it. I don’t need you to say the words.”

Even standing a few feet away, Joey could smell the alcohol clinging to him. “You’ve been drinking.”

“Wow, you’re pretty observant tonight Jo.”

“Yeah well you can smell it a mile away Pace.”

“What do you care if I’ve been drinking Joey?”

“Pacey, what’s wrong with you?”

Pacey didn’t answer her.

Joey stared at him. His expression that she could normally read was now unreadable, his eyes that always looked at her with warmth and compassion were now cold and unfeeling, his tone that was always laced with love was now bitter. This was a side of him that she had never seen before and she wasn’t quiet sure what brought on the sudden change of attitude.

“Why are you acting like this?”

Pacey just shook his head and chuckled.

“This is about this afternoon, isn’t Pace?”

“You could say that.” He said slowly. “Answer me something Jo…how long did it take you to go running to Mark after you left here today? I mean, since I turned you down today…did Mark give you what I wouldn’t? Or has he been since he got here and you just wanted one last time with me to compare notes before deciding which one of us does it better for you?”

Without even thinking she raised her hand and swung at him. Joey didn’t know why he was acting the way he was or why he was speaking so harshly to her, but it didn’t matter. He had no right to talk to her that way.

Pacey caught her hand before it connected with his face. He pulled her close to him turning them around and pressing her back against the door. “I never knew you liked it rough Jo.”

“Pacey let go of me.” She squirmed in his grasp.

“You want to know what I’m talking about Joey? I’ll tell you.” He told her but didn’t release his hold on her. “I went to see you tonight Joey after you left and do you know what I saw?”

Joey’s face dropped when she realized that Pacey had seen Mark kiss her.

“I stood there and watched as he moved closer to you.” Pacey said leaning closer to Joey. “I stood there and watched as you didn’t move away.” He said closing the gap between them. “And I stood and watched as he did this.” He placed his finger under her chin and tilted it up to meet his lips.

Tangling his fingers throughout her hair he jerked her head back and watched as he trailed his fingers along the column of her throat.

“Tell me Jo…when he kissed you today, did you even give me a second thought?”

“Pacey…” She started and was cut off by the feeling of his hot moist tongue dipping into the hollow of her throat.

Inhaling deeply she caught a faint smell of woman’s perfume, a perfume Joey knew wasn’t hers.

Placing her hands on his chest she pushed him away from her. “Tell me Pacey, did you give me a second thought while you had some girl all over you?” She fumed. “Is that all it took Pace? Seeing what you think you saw and you go and hop into bed with the first willing woman to come along?

“Do you really think that I could sleep with some other woman Joey? She wanted me Jo, but I turned her away. And don’t tell me what I think I saw Joey.”

“Do you actually think that I would or even could sleep with Mark?”

“I really don’t know Joey. It would explain your willingness to open your legs for me, but not your heart.”

“@#%$ you, Pacey!” She spat and then the only sound heard throughout the apartment was Joey’s hand connecting with his face. “You couldn’t be more wrong.” Joey bit on her bottom lip to stop it from quivering and fought off the tears that stung the back of her eyes.

“Yeah well the way I see it…I couldn’t be more right.” Pacey rubbed the side of his face that she had just slapped. “I think you should go now Joey, Mark’s waiting for you.”

“We aren’t finished here Pacey.” As angry as she was at him, she had to tell him that there was nothing going on between her and Mark. She had to tell him that he was the only one in her heart.

“Oh, I think we’re more than finished here Joey.” He walked over to the door and held it open for her. “Goodbye, Joey.”

Mark’s eyes stared intently on the door waiting for Joey to get home. He could still hear her words, but he refused to listen. He refused to give up on them just yet. They shared a past, a past that was once filled with love and happiness...a love and happiness that brought Cassie to them. Yes, he had @#%$ up by letting her go, but there was no way that the few months she and Pacey had could compare to the years and history they shared. If he could only make her remember how much she had once loved him, then he was sure he could convince her that they could be good together again. Better and stronger than before, they could finally be the family they were always meant to be.

He was going to fight for what was his.

Lost in his thoughts of what they once were so many years ago and what they could be, Mark didn’t hear Joey come in until she was standing next to where he sat on the sofa.

Meeting her eyes, he saw pain and heartache that lay deep in her brown depths. “Jo?” Mark stood up and took her into his arms as the tears finally fell down her face. “Joey, what happened?” He asked stroking her hair and letting his hand gently rub her shoulders while he waited for her to say something. “You can talk to me Jo.” He whispered placing a small kiss on the top of her head when she didn’t speak.

“He…he…Pacey…he…” She hiccupped pulling away slightly from Mark’s embrace, but not completely. “He doesn’t want me Mark, he doesn’t want us.”

“Then that’s his loss Joey. He doesn’t know what he’s throwing away.” Mark brought her closer to him again and held her tightly against his body; he was a bit surprised when her arms went around his neck. Inhaling deeply he let the flowery aroma of her shampoo invade his senses. With her breasts pressed firmly against his chest and the scent that was uniquely Joey filling the air he couldn’t control the tightening he felt in his groin.

“Why do people always leave me Mark?” She sniffled. “Am I that horrible?”

“Horrible? My God Joey, you are wonderful. And as for people leaving you…well I don’t know what to say about that.” Stepping away from her a little, Mark cupped her face in his hands and used the pads of his thumbs to wipe away her tears. “I know if I had the chance again, that I would never leave you. You are the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen, you are a wonderful mother to our daughter, and you’re one of the most caring and giving people I know. Letting you go was the biggest mistake of my life Joey, and I’m sorry that I did. I would do anything to make it up to you Jo, anything.”

Mark watched her face as her expression stayed unreadable. Taking a deep breath, his tongue moistened his lips as he, for the second time in just a few short hours moved in to kiss her. Everything in him hoped and prayed that he wouldn’t get the same response as earlier.

Hesitantly he pressed his lips to hers, placing the softest of kisses upon them. Pulling back he searched her eyes for any sign that he had crossed the line. He didn’t see that, but what he did see was a look of desire and need.

With renewed confidence he lowered his mouth to hers again, parting her lips with his tongue he took his time reacquainting himself with her kisses. Gently he stroked her tongue with his own as his hands slid down her neck until her could feel the soft swell of her breasts with the palm of his hands.

Cupping the weight of her breasts in his hands, his thumbs swept over her hardening nipples, urging them to the stiffest peaks possible. Gliding his hands further down her body, Mark took her well-sculpted ass in his large hands and pressed his growing erection against her stomach.

Hearing her moan his name into his mouth, Mark picked her up and Joey’s legs instinctively wrapped around his waist as he walked towards her bedroom.

Kicking the door closed, he walked the short distance to Joey’s bed and gently placed her on her feet. Letting his eyes sweep over her facial features, Mark took note of all the changes that had occurred over the years, the changes that made her even more beautiful now than she was back then.

Guiding his hands down her arms he toyed with the hem of her shirt before pulling it up and over her head. Joey inhaled deeply as Mark slowly slipped her shorts over her hips and down her legs, leaving her only in her bra and panties. With shaky fingers Mark undid the front clasp of her bra letting her breasts free of their confines.

He kissed her soundly on the lips moving his mouth down her neck before flicking his tongue over her hardened nipple. Kneeling down in front of her, Mark hooked his fingers in the waistband of her panties slowly pulling Joey’s last article of clothing down her long slender legs.

The smell of Joey’s arousal filled the air and Mark’s mouth watered wanting nothing more than to taste her. Standing up he moved towards Joey’s bed and watched as Joey scooted to the middle, relaxing against her pillows. Mark stood there taking in all the subtle changes that had occurred in her body since the last time he saw her naked. He smiled liking everything he saw as he quickly divested himself of his clothing.

Licking his lips he moved forward on the bed spreading Joey’s legs apart with his hands before running his tongue along her slick folds, flicking it against her clit causing Joey’s body to shudder from his actions.

Covering her engorged nub with his mouth and he sighed heavily feeling like he had died and gone to heaven, his dreams of being with her again finally coming true. Another of his dreams was to be buried so deep inside her that they wouldn’t know where he ended and she began. And now with her naked before him, Mark planned on making that dream come true. Placing hot, open-mouthed kisses up her body, Mark kissed her lightly, positioning himself at her entrance.

Sliding into her welcoming heat, Mark felt her tight walls grip him and he had to fight the urge to pound into her with such a force that she wouldn’t be able to walk for weeks. Sliding out of her almost completely he heard her moan his name as he sank back into her.

“Mark.”

“Mark.” He felt her hand on his shoulder. “Mark, wake up, I’m home now.”

Blinking rapidly Mark tried to get his eyes to focus on the face of the person who was calling out to him. Sitting up Mark took in Joey’s appearance, fully clothed, no longer naked beneath him. Gone was the look of desire that he was dreaming about. Now she just looked tired. Tired from what, he didn’t want to know. Mark’s only hope was that Joey hadn’t noticed the huge hard on he had.

“I guess I must have fallen asleep waiting for you. What time is it anyway?”

“Almost three. You’d better get going now Mark and thanks for staying with Cassie.” Joey fell into the chair, letting her eyes close as her head rested against its back. She was mentally, emotionally, and physically drained, the events of the last several hours finally taking its toll on her. All she wanted to do was crawl into her bed, wake up tomorrow and have everything that had happened today end up being a dream.

“Yeah I should go, but first…how did things go with Pacey? Everything alright with you two?”

Joey lifted her head and studied his expression. She could see the hope in his eyes that things with her and Pacey hadn’t went well and she didn’t want to give him any false hope that there could possibly be a future for the two of them. Which is exactly what he’d think if she told him the truth.

Putting on a fake happy smile, Joey nodded. “Yeah, things with Pacey and I are okay.” She lied. Things with she and Pacey were far from okay and Joey wasn’t sure if they’d ever be okay again.

“And then you just left? Walked away? Didn’t barge back into his apartment, tie him to the bed and make him listen to you?” Danielle shook her head on her end of the phone and sighed. “Joey, have I taught you nothing?”

“Believe me Danielle, none of those were an option. The only option he left me was to leave. You didn’t see the look in his eyes Danielle, the last thing he wanted to do was talk to me and I knew that no matter how hard I tried to make him listen…that he wasn’t about to give me a chance to explain.” Joey reasoned, after filling Danielle in on everything that had taken place a few days ago.

“Please tell me that you went over there the next day while he had a screaming hangover and told him everything? Then you could have beaten the @#%$ out of him for saying the things he said to you. I mean, it would have been perfect…he wouldn’t have been in any shape to move so he would have had no choice but to listen to you. You did do that, right Joey?”

“Not exactly.”

“What the @#%$ do you mean not exactly?” Danielle yelled in Joey’s ear. “You know what, don’t answer me. Put someone on the phone from that house that has a brain and uses it. Where’s Cassie?”

“She’s out with Mark, I had an appointment the other day and…well…I’ve been a little preoccupied.”

“Mark’s still there? Doesn’t the man work? My God, if he’s still there when I get there this weekend, I’m gonna kick his ass and then I’m going to slap both you and Pacey if you haven’t talked this @#%$ out yet. Frustrating! That’s what all this is, @#%$ frustrating.” Danielle inhaled deeply. “Wait a second, what appointment and why are you too preoccupied to go and tell that man that you love him?”

“I’d rather wait until you get here to tell you, if that’s okay with you.”

“Hell no, it’s not okay with me.” She yelled. “Great, my blood pressure just went through the roof.”

“You mean it wasn’t before?” Joey laughed for what felt like the first time in years. The last few days had been hell on her, first fighting with Pacey, then having to deal with Mark, and then fighting with Pacey again. On top of all of that she was waiting for the outcome of her appointment.

“Hahafuckingha, aren’t we the funny one today?” Danielle said deadpanned. “I’m thinking I should hang up and then call back because I want some happy news. Here I was waiting for you to pick up the phone and tell me that you and Pacey had finally worked everything out, that you were getting married, and that you were going to make me an Aunt again. And what do I get instead…I get one great big @#%$ mess.”

“Yeah well you may get one of the three.” Joey mumbled.

“What did you just say?”

“Nothing. Look, I’ve got to run now Danielle.”

“Run nothing. You’re going to tell me what you said.”

“I can’t right now, I’ve got an appointment and then I’m going to go and talk to Pacey. I’ll tell you when you get here, okay?”

“Ooooh, you’re going to talk to Pacey. Now that’s what I like to hear. All you have to do now is tell me that daddy dearest isn’t going to still be hanging around when I get there and I’ll be okay with you pissing me off today with all your bad news.”

“As a matter of fact, Mark is leaving tonight.”

“Good. I’m a happy Danielle now.” She giggled. “Go to your appointment, which by the way better be nothing major and then go and get your man.”

“I’ll see you the day after tomorrow, right?”

“Yep. Now let me go before you’re late and you blame me for it.”

Joey laughed looking at the clock noticing that she did in fact have to hurry if she was going to be on time. “Okay, love you and I’ll see you soon.”

“Love you too honey. Bye.”

Joey hung the phone up and grabbed her purse, praying to God that the two things she was about to do went the way she wanted.

Pacey glanced around the restaurant and nodded his head approvingly. It was all coming together nicely and if everything went according to the plan then it should be open for business within the next month. At least his professional life was going the way he wanted while his personal life was shot all to hell.

Sighing heavily Pacey sat on a barstool at the bar thinking about how Joey wouldn’t be there with him opening night. There would be no family for him to show off to his customers. He would be standing alone putting on a happy face while inside he would be living in his own private hell, missing Joey and Cassie wishing that they were there with him.

It felt like an eternity since he had spoke to Joey last. He picked up the phone numerous times a day to call her, just to hear her voice, but hung it up before it rang. He didn’t know what to say to her, hell he didn’t even know if she’d talk to him again after the things he had said to her. He didn’t mean any of them and he needed her to know that. He needed to apologize and he prayed to God that they would be able to salvage their friendship, at least some of it anyway, for Cassie’s sake.

Even if Joey had chose Mark and wanted to be with him, Pacey wasn’t about to walk out of that little girls’ life. He loved her like she was his own and planned on spending as much time with her as Joey and Mark would allow. Pacey knew it would kill him to see the two of them together, but Cassie was innocent in all of this. It wasn’t her fault that he fell in love with her mother, who was still in love with her father. It would get easier, he would get over loving Joey the way he did and move on. At least he hoped so, but something told him that he would never get over loving her, wanting her, and needing her.

Pacey heard the door open and close behind him and he took a deep breath. He didn’t need to turn around to know who was standing there. Now, just like always, he could feel her…
