Re: The Girl Next Door
{Tam, are you ok?} he asked.

{Yeah, just thinking about things.}

{If you're worried about if you'll make a good mahda, don't worry. I know you'll make a wonderful one!}

Oh, what should I do? Should I tell him about my deformity? No one knows about it but my parents and my doctor. Bit if I tell him, he might not want me anymore. And yet Juyo does love me, and I should be honest with him. Then again, he gets so happy when he talks about having children. Before I could even decide what to do, there was a knock at the door. Our friend, Ladia, had arrived to have dinner with us. She was a little late, which was no surprise, so I gave Pahda a call to tell him I would be home later than I thought. For some reason, Pahda seemed pretty happy about that. Ladia's presence was a welcome distraction, for me at least, because she didn't bring up having children. Once we all realized it was getting late, we parted ways. When I got home, I noticed the lights were dim and there was music playing softly in the background. I didn't see my parents anywhere at first until I heard a thump coming from the dining room. When I went to check on the noise I got a little surprise. I'll just say that I have never seen any one use a dining room table quite like that!

Re: The Girl Next Door
I backed away from the doorway.

{Sorry, Mahda, Pahda. I didn't mean to...}

{It's alright.} I heard mahda say.

{I told you we should have gone to the bedroom.} she sid in a quieter voice.

{What? She's fifteen.} I heard pahda say.

{Well, at least the table didn't collapse.}

I had forgoten Pahda had been trying to get Mahda to agree to have another child. He really wanted a son. She must have finally given in. Must have been the passion flower incense.

Re: The Girl Next Door
About a month and a half later it was discovered that Mahda was expecting...and boy was she pissed! Pahda was thrilled of course. The Valentines already had little Detia and Lady Ritua had Marana. Pahda told Lady Pijol that if the baby was a boy, they would discuss betrothing Rana to him. I was surprised Pahda chose Rana over Dee Dee. Then again, Master Jawan didn't seem too keen on the betrothal business. He felt his daughter should be able to choose her own mate when the time came.

When I told Juyo about Mahda's pregnancy, he seemed a little shocked.

{Why in the world did they wait fifteen cycles to have another baby?}

{Pahda wanted a son.}

{Well, they have a tomboy. Isn't that enough?}

That's when I chucked a pillow at him. He ducked then tackled me to the floor and kissed me. I playfully pinched his nose, causing him to smile.

{Tam, I can't wait to have kids with you. We're gonna have a great family someday. I love you.}

{I...I love you too.}

Why does he have to keep bringing up having kids? Something inside me told me to tell him about my deformity, but I didn't do it. If only I had known it would be a mistake I'd live to regret.

Re: The Girl Next Door
(Tamjol)

Time just few by... months. After the breakup I kept basically to my school work. I ocassionally spoke to Tamla and did draw. When I was upset I could never do that.

Then one weekend I felt like it again. I found a picture of my pahda and mahda with me as a baby and got my suplies out.

Hours latter a lok at a future family was done. I gave the child an almost lavender skin and brown hair. The eyes were closed because I thought babies looked their sweetest asleep. In hind sight I hoped it wasn't a bad omen.

(Tamla)

It had been four months and mahda was so big. Looks like I'm going to have siblings.

Re: The Girl Next Door
Mahda and Pahda were understandably concerned about how big Mahda's belly had gotten so early in the pregnancy. One day Pahda took Mahda to the doctor to get a 3-D sonogram. while they were gone, Japahda Quito, Jamahda Matra, Lady Dani, and I all prepared a surprise baby shower for my parents. We were all full of excitement as we piled up all the gifts for the baby, or babies, which we all suspected. Matra thought it would be twins. I enjoyed the expression on my parents' faces when we surprised them. We were all curious about the results and everyone was asking questions all at once. Mahda finally demanded silence as she gave us the news none of us expected.

Re: The Girl Next Door
Mahda mangaed to pull out of Jamahda Matra's grip and went over to the couch.

{I think everyone should know that Makel and I are having more than one baby...} mahda started.

{Oh, twins!} Matra squealed.

{No, QUADRUPLETS!}

We all looked at mahda in shock, then at pahda. He could only shrug his shoulders and looked a bit overwhelmed.

The next day I went over to see TJ.

{Quad?! How'd that happen?} Tamjol laughed.

{From what I heard it had something to do with a fertility statue from Master Jawan. Boy, was mahda pissed.}

Tamjol laghed as he rolled on to her back and clutched her stomach.

{At the baby shower mahda said there are at least two boys in there.}

{You'll have to wait until their born to about the other two, right?} she said, her head still hanging upside down off the side of her bed.

I nodded.

Tamjol rolled over again and got up.

{I finally felt like drawing again and I did up this picture of you Juyo and a baby. I hope it looks okay.} she said going for her drawing pad.

(Tamjol)

When I brought my drawing over for Tamla to see, I held it out in front of her. For a while she just looked at it. Finally she took it from my hand and laid it nexxt to her on my bed.

{Umm...nice picture, TJ. Thank you.}

She didn't seem too enthusiastic about the drawing.

{What's wrong, Tam? Don't you like the drawing?}

{Of course I like it, TJ! I like all your drawings! It's just that....}

{What?}

{Never mind. You wanna try some of my pahda's sweet cakes? He made them for Japahda Quito's birthday yesterday.}

I noticed she had changed the subject, which told me something was definitely bothering her. She obviously didn't want to talk about whatever it was, so I left it alone.

(Tamla)
It wasn't long before my four new siblings came into this world. What an exciting time that was! I made sure I was there to see the new arrivals. The babies were so cute! The oldest one was the girl. Mahda named her Wufa Mi (little princess). She named the oldest boy Sirobo (strong warrior). He looked just like pahda! Brown curly hair and all. The twin boys were named Jodan (handsome) and Mikel (little man). They had red hair like Mahda and they looked almost completely identical, except for Jodans curl of hair in the missdle of his hair line. It rested right in the middle of his forehead as if he had his hair stylist right there in the womb with him.

Re: The Girl Next Door
My new siblings seemed to gow up so fast! Sirobo was shy, yet strong, and very protective of his siblings. Jodan and Mikel seemed inseperable. Probably because they are identical twins. Jodan was already a real charmer at a young age. Ladia and Tamjol loved playing with his chubby cheeks. The there was Wufa Mi. She's the oldest and a born leader. She's always full of ideas. I love them all. Playing with them and helping take care of them made me feel improtant. Almost like a second mother to them. Juyo noticed.

{I see you're getting the hang of motherhood through your siblings. After we become elders and get married, we can get started having kids right away!}

We were only a few weeks away from both of those events. Mahda and Pahda had already made our Eldership robes and our wedding garments. I was excited and nervous. How long could I keep up the cherade? I had to tell Juyo, but I still didn't do it. On the day of our wedding while I was preparing to meet the groom, I almost told Tamjol my secret than decided against it. Tamjol was my herald and Ladia, who was now a Holy Elder, officiated the ceremony. I was a nervous wreck once I heard the grooms herald cry out, {Make way for the groom! Make way! Clear the passion flower path for his arrival!}

Tamla wanted to tell me something... I know it. That little out of nowhere sqeak... The look in her eyes... No time for that now-I'm on.

{Make way for the bride! Make way! Clear the passion flower path for her arrival!} I called out ringing my hand bells and walking to the begining of the path.

When we reached the end the male herald bowed and I cutsied. Then he stepped aside so I could put Tamla's hand into Juyo's. Upon taking Tamla's shaky hand I almost felt as if I were condeming her.

(Juyo)

Tamla seemed so nervous and scared. I could feel her hand shaking and she look as if she was about to puke. I had never seen her so nervous. We managed to make it down the path without her fainting or throwing up. We got thorough the ceremony just fine and the wedding night was marvelous. We had a year and a half of wedded bliss until the time came that I was truly ready to have children. That's when Tam dropped a bombshell on me.

We were about bed and I put my arm around her waist.

{Tam, I think it's time.}

{For what?} she asked looking confused.

{To start having kids.} I said as I began rubbing the small of her back.

{No.} she groaned pushing me away.

{I... I can't give you children.} Tamla stated almost in sobs as sat on the bed.

{You'll be a great mahda.} I assured.

{It's not that Juyo, there's something wrong with my reprodutive organs and it's not fixable.}

Re: The Girl Next Door
{What? How did this happen?}

{It didn't happen recently. I've known since I was eleven. I kind of knew something was wrong when I had my first browth spurt and my period never came. My parents and my doctor thought maybe I was a late bloomer. Finally, after 3 cycles my doctor decided to check out my uterus. She made a disturbing discovery. My womb was vritually nonexistant. The bit of organ that was there didn't even resemble a uterus and it was completely non-functional.}

{Tam...why didn't you tell me?}

{Because...I thought you wouldn't want me anymore if you knew!} she wailed. I couldn't believe she kept this from me. I also couldn't believe she thought I could be that shallow and leave her just cuz she's barren. I put my arms around her to comfort her.

{Tam, it's gonna be ok. I can fix this. If I got a worthy pitawan she could bear children for us. We could all raise them together. I'll even let you pick her out.}

{But...but Juyo, I don't want you having sex with some other woman!}

{Tamla, it won't be just some other woman. She'll be a freind. Someone we can both love and trust to help us build a family.}

{I...I don't know...}

{Don't worry. I'll be sure to get your approval. In fact, i can start looking right away. and I won't do a thing until you two have met and hit it off.}

With that I began my search for the perfect pitawan.

Re: The Girl Next Door
I already had someone in mind. TJ said she liked to hang out in the park to work on her drawings. I just walked around hoping to spot her. When my feet were beginging to hurt I thought about giving up for the day. Then I spotted a turqouise skined mother and her kid playing with an Earth dog. When I glanced at the bench across from them I noticed it was her. Tamjol's hair was different, but it was her (a mauve Mua was hard to miss!).

Re: The Girl Next Door
(Tamjol)

It was a pretty peaceful day. For the most part anyway. I needed the fresh air to help my creative juices flow. Tamla's birthday was coming up and I wanted so much to cheer her up. She had been feeling down lately and I hated to see her like that. Just as I was starting another sketch my view was obstructed by a body. I looked up and I saw Juyo looking very happy and relieved to see me.

{Juyo, come to pose?} I asked with a smile of my own.

{No,} he replied as he sat down next to me.

I closed my sketch book and turn my attention completly to him.

{Did Tam ever tell you she couldn't have kids?}

I shook my head.

{She told me last night. Tam didn't tell me before because she thought I would leave her.}

Then it hit me... That's why she'd been so worried at the wedding.

{Listen, TJ. We need your help, but only if you are willing.}

{What exactly do you need me to do?}

{We would like you to become my pitawan and bear children for us. We could all raise the little ones together.}

Juyo put a genlte hand on mine as he looked me dead inthe eyes. He had a look of intense despiration.

{Juyo, you know I love you both and I would do anything for you. But first, you know I have to talk to Tam to make sure she approves}

{Of course she does! Why wouldn't she?}

{What about adoption?}

{We want children to have the DNA of at least one of us. And since tam had no eggs, it's going to have to be my sperm.}

I thought for a moment... A long one... Juyo seemed to be getting impatient.

{Alright. Yes, I'll be your pitawan and give you children.}

{Thank you.} Juyo said as he hugged me.

I kept thinking about how Tamla said she didn't like the idea of sharing a man back when we were eight. Well, maybe she's changed her outlook since then...

Re: The Girl Next Door
(Juyo)

I was so thrilled that TJ agreed to become my pitawan! I wanted to make the announcement to Tamla in a very special way. I casually suggested that we hang out with Tamjol one weekend. We would go out to dinner. I figured the relaxed environment would maek it easier to talk about with Tamla. Both of them really enjoy outdoor cafes. I always knew the two of them got along great. They were really good friends and I could tell they really cared about each other. Towards the end of dinner, I decided to tell Tamla about Tamjol becoming my pitawan. I figured after the great time we had that evening would show my entawan that we could all be happy together. Unfortunately, Tamla saw it a different way.

Re: The Girl Next Door
(Tamla)

After Juyo came back he didn't talk about a pitawan. He just suggested that we and Tamjol have dinner at an outdoor cafe. It sounded like a good idea.

We were having a wonderful time until the very end. Juyo brought the pitawan subject up-- he'd chossen Tamjol.

{We never finished discussing this.} I told him.

{We all get along so well. What's the problem?} Juyo asked.

{I don't care if the pitawan is Tamjol. I don't want you with another woman. And you knew that, Tamjol.}

{You said that cycles ago, Tam, I thought you'd be different now.} she replied.

Re: The Girl Next Door
Juyo had me really upset. He told me I was being unreasonable and that his plan to have children was a perfectly good one.

{What about adoption?! Isn't that perfectly reasonable?!} I shouted.

{Not for me! I want my kids to have my genes!}

{Juyo, it doesn't matter whose genes they have as long as they are our children!}

{Tamla you don't understand anything!}

We went back and forth like this for I don't know how long. The evening ended with me going to Ladia's house. As far as I knew, Juyo and Tamjol left together, which made me even more furious. After taking a few hours to cool off, I called my entawan and told him I was coming home. He then told me that wouldn't be necessary because I wouldn't be living there anymore.

{WHAT?! Why not?!}

{Because...I'm filing for divorce. I'm giving you a month to move otu completely!}

What nerve! He was forcing out of the home I helped to build! I couldn't believe this was happening!

{Juyo, let's not be so hasty...I mean, we can work this out, can't we?}

{I doubt it, Tam. I love you, but it was your lies that brought us to this point. You should have just told me the truth from the beggining.}

{Why? So you could dump me for someone who's fertile?}

{It was bound to happen anyway...}

My heart broke when I heard Juyo say those words to me. I hoped it was his anger talking. I really hoped he didn't mean what he said.
