Hearing all the commotion downstairs, I went to see what int he world was going on. I gathered up Sol and went down the steps into the kitchen. When I got there, I saw someone new talking to Mack. I could tell he was a Mutant from Punn-Darr, but he looked unlike any Mutant I had ever seen. when the Mutant turned and saw us, he greeted me and my son.
"Well, hullo there, little lady! And who's this handsome fellow?"
Before I could answer, Sol started to holler and squrim in my arms. I guess the sight of such a strange looking creature frightened him. I tried my best to calm Sol down, but to no avail. Finally, Reggie scooped him up and startedto rock him and make comforting sounds. Only then did my baby stop crying.
Re: Love and Laughter: Double Time
"Geez, and I'm usually good with kids." the mutant remarked.
"Weasel, this is Olyame and her son Sol." Mack introduced. "Olyame, this is Weasel, a friend of mine from Plunn-Dar."
"Son of a friend, actually." Weasel corrected. "But happy to make your accquaintance.
"Nice to meet you as well." I replied. "I assume you're here to see Mack?"
"Yes, I am." He then noticed I was staring at him. "It's the enhancements, isn't it? What scared your boy?"
"Perhaps."
"Figures. I'm usually good with kids, used to help my ma at the orphanage she ran."
"Oh..."
"Now, if you'll excuse us." Mack and Weasel then went into another room to talk.
(Hardware)
It wasn't long before Weasel and I went into the next room to talk in private. "All right, kid." I started. "What's with the cyborg thing?"
"Rakuna didn't tell you?" he replied.
"We didn't get much of a chance to talk in Limbo. All I know is that you kids got yourselves into something pretty deep."
"That wasn't me. Hell, I wasn't even on Third Earth at the time Rakuna and the others got their enhancements!"
"Then what happened?"
Weasel sighed. "Rakuna had called me to Third Earth to help take care of Ursor. He told me Ursor swore the gang to a demon priest named Gen-Ta who claimed to have taken over Thundera. Well, I saw what this guy gave them--cybernetic enhancements--and Rakuna and I kinda mixed it up with the ThunderCats there at the time."
"Go on."
"One of them was this genius at computers and had an entire program that created viruses. Well, we stole the program which Rakuna used to make himself immune to every viral program on there. It also unleased a prototype viral on the face of Third Earth that would've destroyed every techological device within a hundred mile radius. Obviously, Rakuna was not mentally well at the time, so I switched sides with the ThunderCats for the time being, stopped the renagade virus and gave back the program."
"So how you come by these enhancements?"
"I'm getting to that. Between the ThunderCats and the CyberMutants as Ursor called the gang, I remained neutral if not sympathetic to the ThunderCats. One time, I got caught in a cross-fire of a battle and was poisoned. Being the computer genius I was, I had hacked into the demon priest's computer system on an earlier date and learned how to make my own enhancements. Needless to say, they were the only way for me to survive and I've been with the ThunderCats since."
"So why not get them removed? The enhancements, that is? There's a special surgery on Bedlama for that."
"I'm sure you know the answer to that one, Mack."
"Same problem as Rakuna."
"Yea. I was caught in an explosion that merged my enhancements to all vital organs and nerves. I couldn't get them removed even if I wanted to."
"Okay, I understand."
"Mack, listen there's a reason I'm here and not just to catch up on old times."
"What is it?"
"You once told me we all have our secrets for our own reasons, and it just so happens Rakuna and I know yours."
"Don't know what you're talking about, kid."
"Quit playing dumb, Mack. I know about Stalker." That caused me to stare in shock. Stalker, my cousin's son...
"One word, Weasel. How?"
"His gang, the Saviors, came to Third Earth to rumble with Ursor and his group. Once his true heritage was exposed and his gang betrayed him, Stalker defected to the ThunderCats."
"Is he all right?"
"Oh, he's alive, if that's what you're worried about. Stalker never had any enhancements done to him, but his gang under went genetic enhancements provided by Gen-Ta. Not long after joining us, Rakuna told me about you in Limbo and Stalker overheard us, and that was when he told us everything, how you were the mutant who raised him. Why didn't you tell us?"
"Tell my full-blooded mutant wards that one of their own is half Thunderian? I couldn't risk his safety, for anything. I'm sorry if--"
"Forget it. I forgot half-breeds were automatic illegits for a moment. But why take him in when he could've had a better future on Thundera?"
"I wasn't sure how Thunderians responded to a half mutant. I figured Stalker had no better chances there than on Plunn-Dar, but at least on Plunn-Dar, he was with family. Tell me, how is he?"
"Fine, misses you like hell. You missed his wedding to Queen Lyna."
"He married the queen? Damn, he's his father's son."
"He also really wants to see you, but was concerned when Rakuna mentioned you running with the Mob."
"Not anymore. I assume he sent you to get me, huh?"
"Yea, that's about it. So, how about it? You up for a trip to Thundera?"
Re: Love and Laughter: Double Time
I was taken aback by Weasel's suggestion. Me go to Thundera? What made him think I'd want to go there? Then again, it would be nice to see Rakuna. Then again, these kids were my responsibility for now.
"Man, Weasel, you really put me on the spot here!"

"It doesn't have to be right away. When you're ready, Mack. I know it's been a while since you two last saw each other."
"You can say that again."
