Take a good look at your country of England Helose. As a result of their open border policy for many years England is now a trash pit! Because of their "free" trade policies which in actuality is nothing more than managed trade where manufacturing jobs are shipped offshore to the lowest bidder. Because of this policy there are no real jobs in England!

I thought the reason was the several hundred thousand of british lives lost in WWII, and the inability of British industry to supply its own army, thus making it nessesary to be kept afloat by large injections of aid by the US.
