Good point . . . on some sims characters can change over time, and depending on how fast missions progress CD can speed up. By the time some one has written a chapter, on a certain sim details describing a character could be slightly or dramatically different. My character, Lt. Gill's, life will change with in a mission or so . . . just a warning. I'm going to put in a CD story-line in my sim's upcoming mission. That storyline would take a whole mission to play out in detail, and it would be a shame if it were over looked since my character's life will do a full 180 degree spin. Since I've spent all June brainstorming privately about it and have just informed my XO about most of the details.
I guess you might have to read bios and or posts if there are public archives - as there are in some IDF sims such as mine. I think you should email simmers who belong to sims that don't have them to be kept up to date. Emailing sounds like a better idea than just reading. A simmer could provide information about his/her character - but this is just a suggestion.
My sim already has three new senior officers (one in June, one a couple of weeks ago, and one a couple days ago) and you probably haven't read their bios. Considering they almost all had predecessors - you wouldn't have read about them in IDF newsletters because none have been nominated yet for our sim. Just visit IDF sites frequently to keep yourself up to date with the going ons in as many IDF sims as possible.
Good luck.
