Re: Soooo....
Yeah, the last thing I posted was a blue quilt top custom guitar. This one is a dual humbucker Jackson Soloist. Flame maple top and green. The cab and amp are new too.
I also found 2 awesome luthiers locally that are definitely doing all my guitars from now on. They are awesome. They are actually redoing my Charvel with EMG's. I'm getting 2 SA's for neck and middle and an EMG 89 for the bridge which is a push/pull pup that sounds like an SA or an 85. I'm also getting an SPC knob added which makes the single coil sound fat like a humbucker or adds more body to the humbuckers and I'm having a boost toggle added that gives the pickup a 20db boost which is good for a lead or to cut through a mix better.
Other than that, nothing is going on. I'm still trying my best to make time to play. Hopefully a new job will be in my future soon. I've also been trying to find time to hook up with people and get a band started. That's a slow moving train as well.

Holy jeez, a 20db boost? That sounds like it would stomp on everything else in the mix, to me. I thought a typical lead boost was 6-10db?
Lucky you. All the local luthiers I found in my area were expensive as hell, and I wasn't impressed with their work. Sounds like you're building up quite the guitar and gear collection too
Good luck finding band members. Getting the right people that you can work with musically and get along with personally isn't very easy, in my experience.

Well. We are on a good and steady path to getting our studio up in the basement. My stepdad is a dj,and his partner and him own a studio over at his partner's house, but he wants one for us here. So thats it! And im glad. We've got the drums set up and tuned, the mics and stands, cables, tooooo many speakers...we are still picking which ones we want, theres tons, from yamaha to a few carvins. We still are looking for a good mixer, digital perhaps, with those nifty screens and cd burners...any suggestions?

Hold up, did you have a cushy government job? What happened to that? Hope you find something soon... For now, I'm enjoying my unemployment. It's nice doing whatever I want whenever I want without worrying about waking up early for work the next day. It'll probably get boring after a while, but not yet
...only problem is I'm hesatant to do anything that involves spending money.

Cool! Definitely want to see some pics of that studio when you're done setting everything up.
I don't know anything about digital mixers... or even regular mixers.. Try looking around homerecording.com/bbs. Do a search and I'm sure you'll find tons of good info to help find what's best for your needs and make a decision.
Re: Soooo....
I still have the same job, just not as happy with it. I want something that I'm more involved with. Plus the politics around here is ridiculous. I know most jobs are like that, but that and the hours make it hard to do anything else socially outside of weekends.

Mike, this is the info on that toggle switch I mentioned above:
EMG-PA2
The PA2 is a straight booster preamplifier mounted on a minitoggle switch. Perfect if you want to just plain overdrive the input of your amp for distortion. It has a trim pot so you can preset the amount of boost up to an additional 20 dB. The PA2 will also work with passive pickups.

Ahhh, adjustable up to 20db. Cool stuff. I look forward to hearing the guitar on a recording

Politics in a government job? You're kidding, right?
Office politics suck. I think that's why so many office rats like watching "reality tv" shows.. To get ideas on how they can screw over co-workers while making themselves look good.
The hours you suggest really do surprise me.. I thought govrnment employees got the 6T work week?
I made another addition to my collection. I don't remember if I mentioned that the amp I have does clean and rock stuff well but falls short on high gain. So I bought an amp today that will do the high gain very well. I love these amps and I'm stoked to be getting one

Re: Soooo....
Actually I tried one when I was A/B'ing different amps. The Satch model is noisey and thinner sounding. One of the channels wasn't too bad, but the others weren't very good. The noise gate wasn't that great either. I hear newer models have an upgraded noise gate though.
I'm done for now. I might entertain adding effects but not anytime soon. I already have a chorus and delay pedal that will suit me well.
