Yes I can see your point about training someone that doesn't live near you. It's such a great thing that you are doing and I hope that the on-line training works out for you. I will check my email later today. Many thanks. Cheers Sharyn
Re: Level 1 and 2 OPA--Mississauga
Welcome to the forum Look'n forward to meeting you Sharyn!! There will be several people from this forum at the Mississauga show Saturday. I'll be at the Allmax booth for most of the day show so make sure (if I don't meet you before hand) you come by and we'll get a pic so we can post it on here
You are in good hands with Darrin (and I) !!
LA
ps...how did you come across this forum? We are always interested in how people find us So we can keep advertising
Re: Level 1 and 2 OPA--Mississauga
Hi Lori-Ann, thanks for the welcome. I will definitely come up and say hello on Saturday. I'm hopefully meeting with Darrin this week, which I'm really looking forward to.
You asked me how I came across your forum, it was through Rae Cattach's blog. Rae is a competitor from Australia and I've been following her progress. She has your site under 'Competitors Blogs - Past, Current and Near Future'. Rae's blog is www.raecattach.blogspot.com.
Not sure how on earth we're going to be able to get my butt into shape for a competition (it's heading south very quickly ) but I know that somehow we will.
Re: Level 1 and 2 OPA--Mississauga

WELL less then 3 days away...I just want to wish all the competitors GOOD LUCK this weekend! Especially team Emerge member Kelly Kuus Kelly you are going to shine again on stage--we're very proud of you for keeping in show condition for several weeks now!!
Re: Level 1 and 2 OPA--Mississauga
Ange..of course you'll be able to still get tickets...these shows rarely begin on time. I'm excited to see everyone on Stage this weekend including:
Re: Level 1 and 2 OPA--Mississauga
Hmm... wish I could just pop in and see you all Well have extra fun for me ok BTW all the best to all who compete...looking forward to see some photos girls
Re: Level 1 and 2 OPA--Mississauga
Thanx LA -- I've only been to 2 shows before and only for the morning part and I was there first thing. I thought by arriving late the evening tickets might be gone. It's good to know they don't start on time -- hopefully I'll see the figure part.
Re: Level 1 and 2 OPA--Mississauga
you'll be fine for tickets! No worries. The figure is starting a little later than usual so you never know...you may get to see some of the prejudge. I'll have your gift bag with me at the Allmax booth
If you think Kelly at 42 is an inspiration...there will be a lady competing in figure ( i actually went to school with her kids) and she's turning 54 on Saturday...her name is Dawn Wignall and talk about an inspiration!! She's awesome! Darrin will be doing some photos with her so hopefully i'll be able to post some after the show!!
Re: Level 1 and 2 OPA--Mississauga
We would like to congratulate Kelly Kuus again on her championship victory in the OPA South Central Level 2 comp. She emerged the champion in the Masters figure and received a 3rd place finish in a VERY VERY tough open figure medium class!!
Kelly you looked soo polished on stage and had the best stage presence!! We are very proud of you and you should be very proud of your placings!! Enjoy your victory champ!!
Great Comp
Hi Everyone. I went to watch the comp that Kelly competed in and she looked amazing Congratulations on your win and your 3rd placing.
As LA said it was an extremely tough field and Kelly you shone like a bright star amongst them all
I sat with Darrin for quite a bit and he is not only a very talented trainer, he's really funny...had me laughing so much
I also got to chat with Lori-Ann and I have to say that she is such a lady, very gracious and kind. In an industry that can be quite bitchy it's so refreshing to have people like Kelly, LA & Darrin who show that you can be in the industry and be genuinely lovely.
After the show, I decided that I don't want to compete in a competition but I will still be going for my goals and keeping up with you all on this forum (thanks for the encouragement Darrin )
Re: Level 1 and 2 OPA--Mississauga
I would like to thank many people for all the support that I have received in preparation for the South Central Show.
My family has been very patient and helpful in my journey.
All the comments and kudos from the message boards are also a wonderful support for me. Thanks.
I would especially like to send a huge thank-you to both Darrin and Lori-Ann. Your neverending patience and guidance are truly what makes you successful as "Team Emerge".
Darrin and Lori-Ann have always been available to answer any questions. Darrin is right on track and keeps up to date with the diet side of training and how I'm doing, and adjusting as we need to. Darrin keeps tabs on my progress and sets realistic targets. (thanks for pushing sometimes too!!!) The success I have had with my stage presence has been the result of hours practicing with both Darrin and Lori-Ann critiquing and guiding me thru 1/4 turns, walking and posing. This time spent has been invaluable when its time to walk on stage for the real deal. Walking on stage with the confidence in knowing that I have had a superb "team" of professionals to assist me is wonderful.
Thank you Darrin and Lori-Ann for your knowledge and support. CHEERS!!!! AND CONTINUED SUCCESS WITH "TEAM EMERGE".
Re: Level 1 and 2 OPA--Mississauga
What a nice post Kelly....we are honoured to work with such a great gal!! You are such an inspiration and rolemodel its rewarding seeing you do so well
Christine....you looked great on stage yesterday I'll get some pics of you on here soon as well.
Sharyn..it was great seeing you again yesterday too Competing is a very selective sport and its not for everyone. You can always have goals without stepping on stage.
ok...now i have to go and finish eating my cookie dough...lol..yes..cookie dough (i bake cookies and save the dough in the freezer for emergencies)
Re: Level 1 and 2 OPA--Mississauga
I was at the show yesterday as well.
Christine -- you looked great -- you must be so proud of yourself for what you have achieved! Good job!!!
Kelly -- stunning -- your stage presence is amazing -- you glowed on stage and were very professional during the call outs!!! And your hubby is so proud!!! Congrats!!
I would have liked to met both of you but I was so tired I left as soon as the Figure was done!
