Another question about Udo's:

I've tried taking it just by the spoonful and can't -- blech!

I was putting it in my protein shake -- one in the morning and one pwo, but Darrin told me not to in pwo. So, I put 1 tbsp. in with water and glutamine and had that in the morning with my various pilss, but realized later I should have put the glutamine in my pwo shake.

How else, other then on top of salad or just taking it my the spoonful, can I take Udo's? I used to put it in with o.j. in the morning, but I know I shouldn't be having a lot of juice.

Just need some ideas!

I HATE the taste of udo's oil, what i do is just down a tbsp then wash it down with some flav. water or crystal light or just eat my meal right after to get the yucky taste out of my mouth!
There is a udo's booklet that has meal ideas for the stuff, but in my opinion the oil just ruins anything i Have tried it with!Check this link out it may help you out : www.florahealth.com/flora...ecipes.asp

But remember, things that are REALLY good for you naturally don't taste the best :D so just bite the bullet girl!

LOL Christine!!

Well, I was a big girl this morning and tried it straight from the teaspoon and had water right after it. And I survived!!!! :lol :b

It wasn't as bad as the first time I tried it -- but I like the flavoured water idea! Thanx!!

Great advice Christine!! Like Darrin always says to his clients...you are not eating for the taste-You are eating for results:)

I mix in the udo's with my salad dressing then I use other sources of fat throughout the day so I can enjoy the food a little bit.

Hi LA,congrats on being proud owner of health shop;) You must be like a little girl in candy shop LOL. Thanx for sharing and for your honesty. As for me flax oil,fish oil,whey, spirulina,wheatgrass powder, barley grass powder,vit C,multivit and mineral are taken on day to day basis.Wheatgrass juice-when available(I grow it myself),melatonin and flax meal when I feel the need for it.If I had spare cash I would definitely take more stuff:D

I love my store...I am definately just like a kid in a candy shop..lol. My cupboards at home are jammed full of supps and I have to restrict myself from taking too many things. There's always something new hitt'n the market and with the advertising everything always looks very enticing.

How do you find growing the wheat grass? Is it easy or difficult?

I hear what you are saying about new and new things coming up all the time...if I was able to take all I want I would probably have one whole room of supplements:rolleyes
Growing wheat grass is kind of easy..but mold can be a problems so you need good ventilation and monitor the water.I grow it outside on a stand covered with mesh...birds love to pick the young sprouted seeds!!!
We bought real expensive low heat friction juicer especially for wheatgrass.

Thanxs!! We're glad to have you on the forum..as time goes by the forum will grow--its still fairly new but we have the best people on it already (like yourself)!! We want it to be friendly and a place where we can all talk freely and have questions answered by all.

I've never tried to sprout or grow anything..I don't even have a garden outside ,lol. I get a lot of people coming in and asking me how to sprout though--its becomming quite popular:)

BTW sprouting wheat is easy,you just soak the seed in water for 24 hours,then pour watre off and let carry on sprouting for another day and then transfer it to the trays with soil...give it some water from time to time and there you go:D

LA -- do you ever cycle your supplements and go off them (some or all) to see how your body reacts without them?? I know you cycle fat burners, but what about CLA and some of the others?

Hey Ange....they only time i go off supplements occurs when we go on vacation or i get lazy around christmas. I can REALLY feel and see a difference in my performance, strength and energy levels if i stop.

I will cycle different fat burners but the majority of vitamins and supplements (especially CLA) i stay on year round:) Thank goodness for sponsors and owning a supplement store!!

No kidding, eh??

I've read in different places both staying on the supplements (mainly vitamins) all the time and other places to miss a day so your system doesn't get over loaded.

That was more of a curiousity question! Thanx!!!

I have added post workout recovery drink(maltodextrin based) with my whey on Darrin's advise (from reading his web and from posts on this forum). Something I have never done before, I have always used whey only. It will be interesting to see if my recovery will be better and how it will effect my body composition;)

LA, I take multivitamin by Solgar, VM2000, they are fantastic! Also Vit C, Glucosamine Sulphate, Alpha Lipoic acid, whey Protein isolate.

I tried Glutamine but really didn't feel the benefit for such an expensive supplement.

I took Sans tight for a while and found they were good but hard to come by these days.

I tried Ephedrine for around 2 weeks.....talk about jitters, it really didn't suit me, I stacked it with caffiene and aspirin but as an insomniac it really didn't do me any good :eek

OK - So Question, CLA, does this go well with ALA, I've also heard its best taken alongside Bio-Selenium??????

Gail....CLA goes well with everything..there is no contraindicatons or warnings for CLA. If you are taking a good multi theres no need for extra selenium:) ALA is a great supplement to control insulin levels and its a great antioxidant!

Your supplement regime is look'n good Gail!

Brenny is employed by a great supplement distributor:) Upper 49th-they import and distribute high quality products:) San, NX Care, Next Nutrtion, Optimum Nutrition are just to name a few brands that she sells.

Aw LA, you're the best. You're one of our favorites too! Get used to the More So's cause when you're done your show, I'm coming to visit with a bag full of them. VPX no impact bars are my new favorite - all 448calories per bar. :lol
