well things have been going good the past few days, both diet and training wise.....no fumbles!! hehe I'm trying to get myself back into the diet mode, and after a few slip ups here and there the past few weeks, I think its comming together.....
I just got a new fat burner (i ordered off of bodybuilding.com a while ago I had forgotten about it) but it came in the mail a couple days ago. Its that Lipo6 stuff, and I gotta admit, I originally thought it was just a bunch of false advertising, but a few people whom had taken it before had told me they really thought it worked.... soooo I decided to order it, and I've only been using it three days, butttt something's working or happening lol, kinda gross but I'm sweating more during my workouts, my body temp. in general seems higher, I'm getting hungrier faster than normal, and I've been getting quite the pump during my workouts......so far so good, this on its own is motivation for me to eat clean....because I'm seeing changes in my body.... I really don't want to set myself back....
last night i did my back
4x12 widegrip pull ups
4x12 close grip lat pull downs
4x12 machine rows
4x15 overhead DB lat raises
I wanted to do 4x15 hyper extensions, but i couldnt get on the bench, so I'm going to do them today after my shoulder workout.....
I got to the gym this morning for 45 min of cardio...... Its kinda funny, when I'm there in the morning, I'm probably the youngest person in the gym by a good 30years, and most of the people there are in their 60s-80s, haha while I'm doing my cardio, I scope out the 'seniors' with the best physiques and hope that I can look like that when I'm older!
Re: Elise's JoUrnAL
LOL Elise...same here with my morning workouts Sometimes I think I am in retirement home Most people look like they are going to have heart attack just by watching my workouts They keep coming and ask why I work so hard...kinda sweet..worring about me not to get hurt
Re: Elise's JoUrnAL
haha Em I definitely hate that!!! Ohhhh the joysss of being a girl sometimes
Well yesterday I did something different after my morning cardio...There was a Yoga class, so I decided to stay and give it a try. I have to admit it was a bit weird, its very quiet...Not really used to that, but I did enjoy it, it was a nice stretch and I felt super relaxed afterwards...So I think I'll be making time for those classes when I can....
This morning I woke up and trained my legs. I honestly can't walk right now, I walked out of the gym like I had something stuck up my bum .... It was nice because not to many people were using the weights, so I was able to train nice and fast... it was a super intense workout...I'm holding in my butt/hamstrings.....I realllly want to lean out there but I have seen some significant changes since I've been home, so it is encouraging and motivation to keep up. I think I'm going to look into getting a trainer to work with a couple times a week, doing it on my own is a bit harder than I thought. I only have myself to answer to, I think having someone else there to provide 'checks and balances' might help me out....we'll see.....
Re: Elise's JoUrnAL
Val legs are sooo sore, yesterday I started work (i'm waitressing at hardrock cafe in Niagara Falls, annnnd Ooooh My I ran around like a mad woman, and my leeegs were jello by the end of the shift!!!!! )
Well I just got back from the gym, did 30 min of cardio, and I'm off to work today....Later on tonight I'm going to be training chest, and I think I might do a couple tri excersises (we'll see how I'm feeling tho )
Starting work finally after a month of nothing (I've been back from Ottawa for a month almost now) I think will be good for me....I like routine, and this will help me both diet/training wise (or at least I'm hoping)
Re: Elise's JoUrnAL

Re: Elise's JoUrnAL
I've been trying to write in my journal for a couple days, and it hasn't let me for some reason.... soooo hopefully this works!!
anyhow.... Gail I'm excited to be able to read your posts again! Its great to have you back around.... lol thanks Aluschka!!!
and yeah girls this job is some cardio and a half! lol But I'm really liking it so far!
training has been going well, I trained back last night, and then got to the gym this morning for 30 min on the bike....
But heres the real news with me! haha its not even news, but I've decided to get over my carb-a-phobia, and I've been having a 1/2 cup of oatmeal with some protein after my morning cardio (also before my crazy days at work),,,, and then again when I get home from work, either before or after my weight workout (depending on what time I go at).... and its been good, I've been eating clean, without any real cravings for anything....and I'm noticing I'm making progress, b/c I'm not cheating..... so things are going well!
I've also been in contact with a trainer, whose agreed to take me on beginning in July.... Hes competing in 2.5 weeks, but he said as soon as hes done he wants to sit down with me, map out a game plan for me.....So this on its own has given me some extra motivation......
Re: Unknown
hey ladies! hehe Sorry I've been MIA!!!! lol I have been busy the past week ..... But things have been going well for me. I've been waking up each morning, and writing down in a journal, my diet for the day, my workout, and any other random things. I've been setting 'daily goals'.... ie like NO PB (thats been going in the journal daily haha), i think setting mini daily goals for myself is keeping me accountable. When I have a craving or what not, I just go back to my 'daily' goals, and think to myself, I can get through the day and stay on track. Its less intimidating to think I can't cheat today rather then think I can't ever cheat (even though thats really what I'm trying to accomplish) lol....
Everything is getting tighter, I don't want to step on the scale right now, from my previous experiences, my body can change significantly, but for the first little bit, the scale doesn't. Even though I can obviously see changes in my body, I don't want to discourage myself right now and step on the scale and see only a few lbs variation lol.... So I'm going to wait till next week.
Last night I trained my back and abs, this morning I woke up and went and ran on the treadmill for 10 min then biked for 20min..... Now I'm just waiting for that hour to pass so I can eat
tonight I plan to train my shoulders/traps.... and maybe do a few exercises for my hams.....I'm holding there, and its super annoying, but they are always the last to come in for me, sooo its been further motivation to keep going with everything!
Re: Unknown
Hey welcome back chick As I always say one step at the time. I am same Elise, I keep food journal on day to day basis. It prevents me from straying BTW my scales hardly ever budge so I ignore them...as long as I look leaner and tighter..that's all that matters I tend to hold on my lean mass easily and I actually build while dieting...so scales mean nothing in my case
Hey how do you find waiting for that meal after fasted am cardio? I wake up and first thing I feed my face, so I hardly ever do am cardio...if I do by the time I am finished I am comatose and all I want is to eat LOL!!!
Ps..don't even mention hamstring...agrr
Re: Unknown
Good to see your back
The dreaded scales well i used to love the scales because when i strarted my journey i was losing like 2 or even 4 kilo's a week but now that i have lost so much weight it has slowed down ALOT so now i dread the scales and guess who has to step on them today me
But i think when you can see and feel the changes then thats whats important then numbers on a scale
Journals are amazing i have always used oned and aspecially now hehe as i must keep myself inline cause i don't want to report back to Darrin anything bad or he might eat me LOL
Keep up the good work hun i am sure it will all pay off very soon
Re: Unknown
Elise, scales can lie. Go by your body fat percentage, how you look in the mirror and how you feel in your clothes. This is WAAAAY more important than your weight. Im sure with the changes you have been making with your diet your body is in a more anabolic environment from a recovery stand point and is in fat burning mode. You could be repairing and gaining lean mass at the rate you are leaning out.
I have been training one of LAs friends over the last few weeks, and she has been following a typical old school bodybuilder style diet for a long time. In her first week with my approach she lost 5lbs of fat and REGAINED 3.5lbs of lean mass that was lost on her old approach. This could seem like reloading the muscles with glycogen since they MIGHT have been depleted HOWEVER, week 2 she lost another 3.4lbs of fat and REGAINED another 3lbs of lean mass. The scale in two weeks changed by dropping from 143.8lbs to only 142.6lbs but her body fat dropped from 20.5% to 14.8%!! See what I mean. The scale lies.
Re: Unknown
tell me about it, I had to check her BF a few times because I couldnt believe the numbers myself. She is also a figure competitor and her body was obviously deprived on the other diet and was just waiting for the proper nutrition it needed. I have had a handful of people shock me like this in the past.
You can totally see the change in her in such a short time, its crazy.
