Re: fat days
uuugghhhh....let's see...all of 2005!!!??? :rolleyes Yep, I'm thinking those were all fat-feeling days. :rollin

No, on a serious note Wendy, I understand what you might be feeling, but even you said it yourself:

"I have been 100% on workout and food so I don't know why. I guess its just a mood!"

Heck, you even have your workouts done for the week! :eek We all have those days. Remember my post, what - a couple days back???, titled "some days are easier than others"?

This is your 2nd week, yes? Take today to focus on what you have accomplished thus far, not what have to accomplish. Use that fat-day feeling as a dose of inspiration for your weekend. Remind yourself that you are in control right now! With workouts done and clean eats all the way, you've already set the foundation for a great weekend. Tomorrow you'll be looking back at today with pride and satisfaction, knowing that even on a "fat-feeling" day, you were 100%! ;)

Rena,

Thanks so much for your positive words. Everything you say is soo true. Positive thinking is the way to go even if we don't feel it, eventually we will believe ourselves!!..or will we ? ;)

stats end of week 2
Ok so my changes weren't as dramatic as they were last week but I am moving in the right direction none the less.
I am happy with the results and can will focus on working harder this week in the gym and eating well.

Stats:
w: 153.8
bf: 26.3

That puts me down 2.2 for this week and a total of 7.4.
Body fat only went down 0.5% for a total of 2.7%.

Yippee.:rollin

I can honestly tell you that the answer is a huge YES!! Some may not admit to it but they are exactly like us and sometimes even more extreme..woman are more likely to verbalize their emotions while men will bottle them up.

LA - its good to know that we aren't the only ones that loose it once in a while. ;)

Thanks Cathy!! I will get some pics to Lori-Anne this week some time. They will be ones of me from the summer before I started. I did take a front/side and back shot of myself in a bathing suit the day I started but I am not quite prepared to post those yet.:o I will save those for a really good before and after shot!!

Well, went to the gym this morning and I was really happy with what I saw. I work a tank top instead of my usual T.
I really saw progress in my arms and shoulders. I absolutely love great looking arms and shoulders, that my thing!!;)
I was sooo happy it just made me work that much harder.
Yippee - ya I am happy all around today!:D :D :D :D :rollin

Have a happy day eveyone!!

Hey Wendy, isn't it a great feeling when you start to see the changes in your body. I wear a tank shirt to the gym now too. I had some "fat days" at the gym the other day. I know in my head it's not true. but sometimes it's hard to get past it.

oxygen mag
So I got my Nov issue of Oxygen in the mail yesterday and guess who is in there ....:o LOL! Yours truly.

I knew there might be a chance of being in there since Oxygen covered the Toronto camp but really, there were 75 girls there!! I assumed it was a VERY slim chance!

The picture is on the Jen Hendershot phat camp page. I have a purple bandana on my head, pink tank and gray shorts on. Jen is by my side instructing me. I can actually remember this from the camp, she was getting me pumped up. :rollin

Its funny seeing yourself in a magazine!!:lol
Next time I see myself in a magazine I hope I am looking a bit more buff!! Sorry I shouldn't say I hope but I will be buff!;)

week in review
Well its been an up and down week for me thus far.

Monday I was feeling on top of the world, feeling progress and feeling strong. As a matter of fact my progress almost caused me to have a really bad day. When I got to work that morning I went out to the lunch room to get a coffee. I stopped by to chat with a co-worker when another one came in and asked me if I had lost my diamond ring!! I looked down at my hand and sure enough it was gone!! I nearly died. It slipped off my finger without me even knowing when my hands were wet. Thank god if fell on the floor and not down the drain or garbage with the paper towel. My fingers are shrinking!:lol

Tues thru Today >D – ring stuck on finger for good!! LOL! Blah, retaining water and bloated big time. I don’t know when I have ever begged for “that time” to hurry the hell up and get here!!! ! LOL! I’ve only gone up 1 lb which is absolutely great for me. It could easily be a 5 pound up week.

I had a what I thought was a mediocre leg workout yesterday but I think I was just feeling mediocre. I upped my weight by 20lbs on the leg press and 10 on my dead lifts - let me tell you my legs and butt are screaming today!! No complaining, loving every minute. I am still figuring out what weights I need to use. I am right on failure on some but I am finding I can probably push it more on others so I up the weights on the next workout. I guess its trial and error starting out. I don't know if I know what really pushing means? Am I there? Can I do more? Should I do more?? Do I know if I can do more?

Well, I will leave it at that for now. I always love Thursdays because its my Friday!!

Have a great day everyone.

Wendy

end of week 3 stats
Well, this is it, another week down. Overall a great week even though its that TOM and I had an unexpected outting on Friday night.

To make a long story short, hmm.. can I do that?:o
Anyhow....I was pretty much shamed into an after work party on Friday. I was not prepared at all because it was totally unexpected. The party was going to be with some people from Mexico who will be here for the next year on a large project at the company I work for. Now, the last 2 times I went out with these people I did not make it home till the next day along with a very large hangover. You cannot say no to tequilla with them!:( Yes I was very very worried ....

Well the food came out, wings, tacos, burritos, nachos etc. etc..etc.. What would I eat? Well I had some raw peppers, celery and carrots along with 4 large shrimp cocktail. I did falter a bit on the liquor however. I comsumed about 6 oz of wine, 1/2 a beer and 1 shot of tequilla all over a 5 hour time span. I was quite impressed with myself but I know i disapointed my Mexican party friends!! I was also one of the first to leave. Big disapointment I was:( !! I was told that "its not too late to get drunk" LOL!!:lol :rollin OH YA IT WAS TIME TO GO!! The party girl :evil in me was starting to out think the Darrin plan. OH YES, I blame him for my early departure!! ;) - thats a good thing!

Sat just out of convience because I was out all day I had a myoplex light bar for one of my meals and today well it 6pm and I've only gotten 3 meals in so far. I will probably only have 5 today. Its tough when you sleep in!!

A bit off this weekend but back to normal tomorrow. I love working just for the routine.

My stats::o
weight - 152.6
bf - 25.8

Down this week 1.2lbs and .5% bf.
3 week total 8.6lbs and 3.2% bf.

I don't know about the bf, should that be moving faster?

All in all I am happy with my progress because not only have I lost weight so far but I can see a difference in my body. MY dress pants are getting more roomy in the butt and waist and my jeans are feeling way more comfy.

Well cheers to everyone to a 100% clean week!:D

oh ya - where is everyone?!?!?

checking in
Well, I am gearing up for my holiday and really thinking ahead on how I will try to stay on the program as best I can. I spoke to Darrin about getting some bars to take with me for when we are in the parks so that will probably be my m2 and m4 each day. I will mix it up with protein and fruit too. M1 - easy, always at the house and probably dinner too. I think the biggest challenge will be timing and staying away from all the "other" food.

I also looked up exercises to do with the band that are equivalent to my workout so I will do that as well. It wont be weights but it will be something.

I am pretty much a third of the way to my goal and I don't want any major setbacks now. I think its early in the game and it would be easy to slip back into old habits still. They say it takes 3 months to develop a habit and 1 day to break it and I am sure that is true. I just don't want that week to break me thats all.

Just wanted to post something I tried this week with cottage cheese. I was having my cottage cheese plain or with splenda and cinnamon but I needed to change it up so I tried this since I love chocolate:

1/2 c cottage cheese
1 T fat free, sugar free pudding powder chocolate
1/4 tsp cocoa
1 pkg splenda
few drops vanilla or almond extract

I diluted the powders in about a 1/4 c water and dumped it into the blender with the cottage cheese until smooth.
Just like cheesecake! - Yummy.

I tried it with butterscotch pudding minus the cocoa last night and it was good too.

I've also added 1/4 tsp of cocoa with a pkg of splenda to my oatmeal and its good too.

Can you tell I love chocolate!?!?! :lol

Have a great day everyone!!

I tried this recipe and it was amazing! Totally felt like I was having a treat!:b

Wendy, you did so great at that dinner party with the people from Mexico! I am so proud of you and your doing just great! For someone to worry about what they are going to eat on holidays at Disney is definately a sign that someone is dedicated and an encouragement to others!

Your stats are looking fantastic and its a great feeling when the clothes start to fit better!

Hope your feeling better tomorrow girlfriend!:x

Re: checking in
Wendy hello:D You have lost nearly 9lb in three weeks!!!! OMG you doing so great!!! I mean all of you working with Darrin are just hoofing it...I am sooo impressed;) Hollidays...hmm:\ they can be rather chaotic LOL. No seriously, only way for me to stick with the plan is to prettend that I am not on hollidays:rolleyes Every year when I start traveling for my volleyball tournaments I slip up:( But I am getting better and better every year;) Actually everyone is real impressed with my cooler box and they can't believe that I bring pre-cooked rice/sweet potato, meat and veg with me:eek Phew it is rather challenging when you play and people around you stuff their faces with all sorts of stuff.Everyone is tempting you with chocolates,muffins,bread,chips...well you get the picture:x It is really mental, mind over matter. We all associate hollidays with fun, free eating and so on. It is about changing the mind set and not let yourself suck in:evil I personally can't handle throwing any food away,so that helps me eat clean. If I bring my food I know I want be eating anything else, cos my heart would bleed if I ahd to throw away some of my (with love) prepared food:rollin :rollin :rollin
So be strong and make sure you always have nice and healthy food around you. Enjoy your hollidays;)

Ciao

Stat week 4
Well, I was a bit down in the dumps yesterday when I weighed in so I didn't post. I had 0 :\ results this week on the scale. No change nadda.

So I went nuts yesterday cooking, packed all my food for mon,tue and wednesday. Measured everything to a tee.
I went to the gym this morning and went up on all my weights so that I could only eeek out 8 -10 if I was lucky. I contemplated getting on the treadmill to do some hiits for 20 minutes but I didn't. My thoughts of course are that I need to do the cardio now....but I didn't. I was second guessing myself and I shouldn't.

So anyway I came on here to check in this morning but only had time to read posts. Renas post really got me up again and back to sanity. I may not have lost weight on the scale but I know changes are happening. I can see them and feel them in my clothes. I really wish now I would have taken measurements at the beginning but I didn't. So taking that into consideration I just have to accept the facts and move on.

My goal was to be down 10lbs by the time my trip came and I am bound and determined that will happen. I have only 1.4lbs to go, ITS NOT UNREALISTIC!! LOL! Thats what I keep telling myself.

I still have 20lbs of fat to loose and 10 lbs of muscle to gain. I have a long way to go. To be honest I don't ever remember getting on the scale and seeing the number 140. I must have not weighed myself back in those days. Actually I don't remember owning a scale till I got married. Now here I am obsessed with one!! Its sooo love/hate. >D

Thanks for checking in Alsuchka. Yes your people are impressed by your dedication and so am I but my people think I am obsessed and that I have a problem!! LOL!:eek :lol I can tell so I generally try not to talk about it. I made my list of food to pack last night and I am ready to go.

Well enough blabbing for today.

Hope everyone has a great day!!;)

oatmeal
So yesterday when I was re-evaluating my meal plan I looked at the oatmeal I have in my pantry. Its the robin hood brand in a big bag. I looked at this yesterday and it says on the bag that the oatmeal is 27g carbs for 1/3c or 40g.

I then look at the Quaker Oatmeal and it says 20g carbs for 1/3c or 30g.

How is it that a 1/3c Robin Hood Quick Oats is 40g and the same amount in the Quaker is only 30g?? Both are quick oats.
That is a 7g carb and 10g weight difference.

I'll need to weigh both for curiosity when I get home.

Re: Stat week 4
Awwwww shucks Wendy :o , I just read your post and thanks for the mention that I could lift you a little today. You know -that's the great thing about posting here. The fact that we can share our highs and lows with someone else who is going through the VERY same things does keep you sane. I am glad that I am able to come here and post without being judged as "obsessive". I know just what you mean about your friends and family making those conclusions. It is the easiest way for them to reason something they just don't understand I guess.

As for the scale - easier said than done I KNOW, but ignore that read this week. You mention that you're seeing muscles and definition that you haven't seen before. THAT IS GREAT and THAT my dear, is what you must stay focused on this week!! 8o

You WILL hit those 10 lbs before your trip. I just know it!

And just so you know...your posts lift me too. Sometimes when I would rather sleep in (like today), I think..."Wendy's not sleeping in today. Wendy's doing Darrin's workout." And I get my butt up and at 'em. :D

Today is a new day and one step closer to your goal! ;)
