Re: Long Weekend - Have fun !!!!
Miracle:\ I managed to post it!! Ok now for the 5th time I will repeat myself:(
LOL I am Eastern Europian myself(Czechoslovakia),so I know all about pork lard:lol We used to have rye bread, pork lard and cracklings for breakfast very often:eek My gran though I was nut if I did not eat fat from chops..she said it is the best part.Everytime she would make roast she would pour like tons of fat all over our meal..honestly it was swiming in fat:eek She used to put chunks of butter on our bread too (like 1cm high) I kept scraping it off...it made me sick..yuck!! Our lives were revolved about food..nonstop:\ The whole country would go into frenzy like 3 months before X-mas and bake cookies like crazy:lol We used to have at least 40 boxes and still eat them at Easter time:rolleyes No wonder it took me sooo long to free myself from food clutches:evil
Anyway you have fantastic time over the weekend and good on you for sticking with your plan;)

Aluschka, I was born and raised in Canada but my family came here from Hungary. I spent most summers in Hungary growing up until I was 18. Fat, fat, fat...its a way of life for them.

Girl, I have to tell ya - you are one of THE most interesting persons I have ever met. Well...we haven't really met, but you know what I mean! :lol

I love your stories and history! SO VERY INTERESTING and INTRIGUING! I have yet to travel the world or experience various cultures with the exception of my little world. I am half caucasian and half Puerto Rican. My looks are that of my mother, all-American. My father's side, Puerto Rican, are very into their heritage and cultural traditions. Unfortunately, I did not spend alot of time with that side of my family. Mostly only seeing them on holidays. We were always around my mother's side of the family of whom are from Kentucky. All about the biscuits and gravy, homemade apple pies, and all kinds of fat-laden casserole dishes. Grandma was all about "Eat up! There's plenty for seconds." Hence, my early introduction to portion control. :\

Re: Aluschka
Oohhh do I know about lard sandwiches!! LOL! When we were kids we would also take the fat off our food and passed it over to the adults who would eat it.

Also, every meal was a 3 course meal. Some form of soup with langos (fried bread), fried meat usually a veal cutlet, fried potatoes or how about egg noodles fried with potatoes and cabbage and sugar or with ground poppy seeds. Then of course you have to top the meal off with desert. Like some form of 10 layer tort or crepes with something and sugar or some creamy pastry.

Then wash it all down with a few shots of wine or booze.

Oh boy..

Friday
Well I have to day that I cannot believe I am setting my alarm for 4:30 just to get up and eat. I am not working today and I soooo could have slept in and started my day later but I didn't. So I get up, eat my pre workout meal then jump back into bed till 6. :lol If I ever told my friends I did that they would absolutely die!!! :o

But here it is 10am and I am done for the day.

Last night I made the steak Darrin has posted here. IT was awesome, I just loved that seasoning rub. My son found it a bit spicy but he ate it anyway. I would recommend everyone try it if you like beef.

I have to say my son is really getting into this cooking and packing thing. As soon as I started supper he asked me if it was time to start packing lunches for the next day because he was ready to help. LOL! Such a cutie. So we packed and then he made a pan of brownies - :evil The smell of those through the house was just scary!! I did have a bite I have to admit but just a teeeny tiny bite.

Funny think happened last night too with those brownies. Hubby was away on business yesterday again (its been a really bad week for him travel wise) and got home about 9:30 pm. He walks in and sees the brownies and pops one in his mouth then comes downstairs where we are with 2 in his hand. He says "so how many of these can I eat?" :eek I said none :evil !! He nearly choked :x . He said since he had the protien pudding thing the night before he thought these were some protien brownies I cooked up!!! LOL! Unfortunately he was in a dream world there!! Needless to say he did not eat the other 2 brownies.

I have been known to bake protien goodies so this was a normal thing for him. I have a recipie for protien pumpkin pie and its to die for!!

Well, this has gone on long enough now so adios amigos.

:)

Saturday weigh in
Well, I decided to do my official weigh in today rather than tomorrw since I don't really know where i will be when I wake up.

Boat trip is cancelled since we have Gale wind warinings all over Lake Erie.

I survived my first friday night on the plan. It was always pizza night in our house. My son had pizza we had our food. I was DYING for some butter popcorn or anything to munch on. I even stared at the food for the longest time just thinking I can have a bite, really whats one slice, whats one brownie - can it really make that much of a difference? >D I ran upstairs right away and got my m6 of cottage cheese and almonds. It wasn't pizza and popcorn but that along with a fresca tied me over.

I was thining of your strength Rena and your little slip withe the friut and almonds!;) I knew my food choices wouldn't be that good!!

I just jumped out of bed and ran right for the scale this morning. Yeeehoo!:rollin :rollin

This morning:
weight - 156 down 5.2lbs
Bf - 26.2 down 2.8%

IS THIS POSSIBLE??!?!?:eek I guess i am just skeptical but I weighed on the same scale same time of day just 6 days ago.

Rena you said that I am interesting person...well I take it as a compliment:D I have to agree that I am slightly off the wall,or perhaps a bit of nut LOL!!! Heaps of funny stuff happens to me all the time. I have so many crazy stories to tell:rollin When I moved in with my BF,he could not believe the situations I get myself into. Now he just rolls his eyes. So you have Puerto Rican blood in you...howz your temper? Just kidding:b BTW I found Latinos real sexy;)

Horrible weekend
Sat we decided to drive to Burlington and hop on a go train to Toronto. Since we cancelled the boat trip and already had my sons friend over and another couple we thought we would kill a day down there at the Hockey Hall of Fame and CN Tower.

Soo.......we do just that. We hit the Hockey Hall of fame then walk up front st to have dinner. Its time to head out over to the tower and I put my jacket on and.....my purse is gone!!:( :eek :(

Yep someone stole my purse while we were sitting there!! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!?!?!?!??!!???!>:

I was in disbelief.

I immediately got the manager and he got me all the numbers for the card companies and the police. He took a walk around the block hoping someone would just take the money out and ditch the purse - no luck. Cancelled my cell phone useage since it was also in there. WHAT A PAIN IN THE A$$!!

I wasn't even pissed off at the time ( unlike hubby who was blowing a top) . I guess at the end of the day my thoughts were that so what, they got the purse, a bit of cash and some useless cards. We were all still intact, we didn't get mugged and the kids were having an adventure. I am also grateful that I put my car keys in my pocket not my purse since we still had to drive home from the go station.

Anyway - no CN tower and now a 1/2 day off work to get new id.

I just don't understand people, its a sad world we live in.

Its made me REALLY happy to live where I do. I guess the police even said that Toronto is really declining that that you just cant go there with anything. Scary thing is that my hubby has been telling me that for a while and I go out with the girls there every year and wander around outside.

I will think twice about it on our next night out!!

Well, thats it for me today. I am off to workout right now.

Hope everyone is having a great day!!!

Week2
Well this board seems to have slowed right down since last week!!

Now in week 2 and I am right on the money. I love it!! I just got to work from the gym, I just love going in the morning. I am adjusting to the 4:30 wake up call on those mornings too.
I think my stomach is adjusting to my meals as well since I havent felt too hungry the last few days. I'll see what happens today.

I realize that it is soooo easy to slip, there is sooo much temptation everywhere.:evil I went to the grocery store last night to pick up a few things and I was just dying to eat anything bread....specifically those large cinnamon buns with lots of icing!! I was soo tempted to just buy a pkg. I kept thinking of what Darrin said in his post to me last week as I stared at the fresh baked goods. I ended up rushing out of the store and driving home. I guess that works. :rolleyes

Rena, I saw your post on the cardio. I haven't done cardio since I started other than just casual biking with my son. It seems to be working. At this point i will do whatever Darrin tells me to do to get me where I want to be.

Well I hope everyone is doing well!!

btw - hubby is down almost 9lbs!!

Re: Wendy
Glad to hear all is well and that you - STEPPED AWAY FROM THE ICED CINNAMON BUNS! (or should I say ran away??!!:lol ) BRAVO!!! I had a few incidents myself where I had to rewind something Darrin said to me in an email and replay it several times to keep me away from temptation.

Your husband is down 9 pounds???!!!!! WHAT?!!? That is phenomenal! :rollin :rollin :rollin Sounds like you guys are rockin it!

I am right on track. Anxious as always to weigh in this week. Little by little I am noticing things and it is just enough to keep the butterflies in my stomach fluttering with excitement. :D Adjusting my cardio regimen ASAP. My instincts were right on as I have really had to dig deep to muster up enough energy to get through it.

So have a great day, Wendy! Sounds like you are already well on your way to one! ;)

9lbs!!! holy moly :rollin that is so awesome for him. My husband doesn't even try to lose weight and it comes off him. >:

sounds like you have things under good control. No cinnamon buns. Good for you.

This is kinda funny. Yesterday was the first staff meeting I went to in my new job. It's my job to get snacks for the meeting once a month. So I went to get muffins, (that's what another admin told me to get) those great big muffins. I kept on track and ate my planned meal before the meeting so I wouldn't be tempted. (it's not to bad, cause I know whats in those things :( ) anyways, I was told not to bring in healthy food anymore. At first I thought they were joking, but no, they want donuts from Tim Hortons instead of "healthy" muffins!!!! OMG. I don't know why I put that here, your cinnamon buns reminded me of it.

LOL!! That is just sooo hillarious! :rollin

I know lots of people who think those muffins are healthy!!
Funny story, made me laugh.

Generally my husband looses weight easily too but he also gains it easily. I am probably more like you, slow, slow, slow.
