The night air was chill, and the towns were quiet at night. For these were the times that the best and bravest of all hunters went off to meet thier destiny. These were the times Castlevania was awake. The town of Veros had hunters from all over Europe willing to test thier skill housing in the Inns, paying for rent of peoples homes, and even sleeping out in the streets. That night, in the woods not too far, a strange event that none could've ever predicted happened. A strange black portal opened, and a out of this portal fell a man. Not only he was victim to this... Many others were sent to such places all over Europe by such portals. And so began a series of events rivaling all of the vampire lord's appearances ever...
3 Nights Later
Veros Tavern was filled with all sort of men, but off in one corner sat a man, with white hair tied back neatly, sporting a wide brimmed hat, and a heavy cloak covering most of himself, giving no view to what he had underneath the dark cloak that glowed crimson on the inside. He also wore heavy, knee high leather boots, and had a strange aura of mystery to him. All covered in shadows, aside from his champagne eyes. He carried with him a case, clearly for holding a violin. Some believed him a minstrel, and others, a vampire hunter with magical abilities involving his music. But most of all, they thought him a spy of the count. He spied a young girl of about 19 or 20 at the counter. She had a green leotard and leather armor, a whip to her side, a short sword, and long blonde hair, braided down her back. He knew this woman, or knew her... Once upon a time... It seemed ages ago, and perhaps was. He walked up to her, and spoke "Sonia Belmont, I presume?" she looked at him questioningly. "I know of your defeating Dracula some years ago." "Do I know you?" she spat at him poisonously. "Perhaps... In another life..." he said in an extra quiet voice. "I would like very much to work beside you, for the castle is early... Surely some menacing force is at work, and it would be best that we dispatch it ag-" he stopped there, double checking in his head that what he just let slip wasn't noticed. He quickly added "Unless of course you're just returning home to your child..." She gave him another look and he simply stood there, awaiting some form of an answer...

Re: Tears of Blood
Not even glancing at her movements, he spoke up. "There's no need to go attacking me in a place like this. I'm not going to harm you, regardless of what people may believe from my appearance. I know these things because I wish to know them, and that is all you need concern yourself about." He paused and an akward silence fell over the two, only broken by the hustle and bustle of the tavern, laughing men, ale spilling about, and all manner of bizarre bodily noises. He suddenly broke the silence. "I have my own reasons for hunting the count and his kind. Something foul is afoot, and I must stop this at once." He left it at that. He looked into her eyes, and couldn't help but blush. 'Still so beautiful. If only... If only I could tell her. But that could compromise this all... whatever is going on, I'll find the bottom of this, and then maybe I can be with her... again' he thought to himself. His thoughts were disturbed by a man falling over some few feet away. He realized that there was no response, and he turned and began to leave. He stopped, and spoke out "Don't do anything brash... T'would be quite a pity for anything of ill to fall upon one as fair as yourself." And so saying, he continued on his way out.
Re: Tears of Blood
He stared at her, trying to think quickly. Something popped into his head, and he dared the lie. "You may call me Simon." He said, thinking of a certain future Belmont's name. He let the silence hang to a point where it was almost tangible in a sence, and held out his arm in a gentlemanly manner. He quickly withdrawed it. "'Tis not my right to take your arm in any manner. Whether business or otherwise. Let us prepare for the coming night. Our ordeals will be many." It then occured to him that the way he talked was too risky of a give-away. 'Best be as concealed as possible... but not to become suspicious, as I am already.' He thought to himself. He gave her a quick glance, and tried to snap back into reality. 'No time to dawdle!' he said mentally to himself...
Re: Tears of Blood
"For the eve, errr... Night, we gather supplies. And then find refuge in an Inn, if there's any available..." the laidback way of talking was going to be difficult to get used to. "But I'm confident you have planned that far... And then we will talk in the morn." he said. He quickly added "-ing." to not sound too odd, but the pause between the two was quite noticable. He rubbed the back of his head and gave a little smile. "I'm not quite familiar with the town... I haven't been here in... Well, ages it seems... So you will have to guide us to suitable stores and shelter." He began out the door, and held it for Sonia. "Where to?" he mimiced her, and grinned lightly...
Re: Tears of Blood
She smiled, "Well, I have several weapons myself, and there's a shop nearby, and an inn not too far from it," she said, walking through the door.
"I don't really think I need too many weapons. Might want to buy a new crossbow since my last one got rusty, and maybe some more holy water, but nothing much else. You?"
Re: Tears of Blood
"I ah... I'm well. I think that maybe a good supply of food, water, and whatever projectiles you need, like crossbow bolts, will be suitable. Besides, it's not like Dracula would just leave meal lying all over the castle. A humer- errr, funny expression I once heard from a hunter I once knew is, You can't expect to find everything in a candle. You have to prepare, and prepare well." He faked a chuckle, and continued. "I'm not sure where he got it from, but I think it's rather... Oh, no matter, an Inn is what we need to find. Or do you have somewhere we can stay?" He was being too talkative. He was like that around her after a certain event or two... Back then that is... 'Yes... back then' he thought to himself and sighed.
Re: Tears of Blood
"Actually, you can find stuff in a candle, but maybe a few tidbits might be good... and my home is nearby as well, if you'd like to use the guestroom," she offered.
She then shrugged, "It's not much... in between 2nd and 3rd class living... but it's home," she said with a weak smile.
Re: Tears of Blood
"Sounds fine. Not a long walk from here either." He cursed under his breath for saying that. 'FOOL! What am I trying to do here?!' he let out a sigh and hushed her before anything could be said. "I will wait outside your home, and you can get the supplies. Then you can show me the guest room, and we can start our trek in the morning. And what did you mean with that candle business? Nae, let us just go. The journey ahead is a gruelling one, but I need not tell you that, do I, Belmont?" And so he began off his seperate way, leaving it at what was said.
Re: Tears of Blood
"It's quite alright. How's little Twevvie?" he said looking at the child and hushed himself up. 'Gotta watch it... Gotta watch it... That's the child's nick name for christ's sake! You're going to...' he thought to himself. He dismissed it quickly and went to the guest room. 'So many memories...' he thought. "Quite a nice home. I'll be in here if you need me. Good night, and sleep well..." he said... 'I must not let myself dream tonight... that would be catastrophic...' he thought to himself... but he knew he wouldn't be able to stop what was going to happen. He lay in the bed and closed his eyes, only to end up crying out later that night... Crying out the name of his lost love...
Re: Tears of Blood
Sonia woke up later that night first to Trevor crying. She hadn't slept well, then again, she had never slept well ever since she left Transylvania from her exile.
Trevor soon calmed down, but then she heard Simon calling her name, and she blinked 'what the...'
Placing her son slowly down into his crib, Sonia walked, hurriedly, to the guest room, opening it slightly and peering in, "Simon," she said, almost shouting, "Are you alright? Is something wrong?"
She ran into the room and placed a hand on his shoulder, shaking it firmly.
Re: Tears of Blood
His eyes snapped open, and he was about to bare his fangs to this form shaking him until he realized what was going on. He calmed down and sucked in a few sobs, and lied. "It was a nightmare... A horrible nightmare... I dreamed death himself game and took you away... far far away... I-" he stopped right there... "He killed all the villagers and..." 'How long must I go on fibbing as such?! Soon Sonia, soon..." he thought to himself. "Silly of me... Please accept my most humble apologies for waking you at this hour with my foolishness." But he peered out the window and the sun was just starting to rise. He straightened out the sheets, and held to her shoulder for a moment. A moment he wished could last forever. 'I will tell her... Soon... I know I can't continue such a charade much longer.' he thought to himself. Let us break fast. For I am sure little Trevor is hungry as well." He said, faking a smile.
Re: Tears of Blood
Sonia weakly smiled, "Don't fret, it was not you who woke me... Trevor woke up about half an hour before you. I get used to not sleeping much."
She walked back to her son and picked him up, "He's had colic ever since we've been exiled from Transylvania... I miss his father terribly..." she trailed off, then shook her head, "Never mind. I should make breakfast..." She wrapped a strap to hold Trevor against her as she got out some bread, milk, and cheese.
"It's all I have... but it's fresh," she said, making a plate and handing it to Simon.
Re: Tears of Blood
Simon sat down and began to neatly eat his meal. He didn't dare strike up a conversation. 'Too risky... I've been a blundering fool... And I was a blundering fool to have left her for that while in the first place...' He finished his meal, and went back to his room to get his hat, yet he left something there. "We have not much time... Who will you have to watch Trevor? for we must go early, and defeat my f- uh, Dracula." He really needed to stay quiet... But he toyed with the idea of telling her. In his head that is. He needed to tell her who he was... but how he was here not even he was sure. But he had heard of Time Loops, and other such Errors on the part of people dabbing into such daring black arts, and alchemetic formulae. But that was an entirely different story... or was it? He pondered, but knew they had to go, and had to go soon...
Re: Tears of Blood
Sonia hadn't really noticed Simon's face without his hat, but those eyes of his were strikingly familiar.
"I have a friend who can watch Trevor. She's a midwife, and has handled infants for the ones whos mothers died at birth, so she has volunteered to watch him."
She sighed, "Simon, I don't mean to pry, but I do have a strong feeling that I know you very well... like we've met sometime only about a year or so ago."
Sonia then shook her head. No, she shouldn't go into those details. She fed Trevor and sat down, softly rocking him back and forth.
Re: Tears of Blood
"I've only heard of you, that I guarantee." This time, he felt daring. "A man who called himself Alucard told me of you. Said you had beauty unsurpassed, and you had the soul of an angel... We traveled together for about a month. And he was a quiet man, and spoke much of you, but never said how exactly he knew you..." 'Stupid, stupid, stupid, STUPID! This is too risky!' he thought to himself. "I can tell you about him on our journey. We should set off very soon. You may prepare, but I am going off to town to double check that we have all that we need. I should be back within half of the hour." He bowed and went out on his way...
Re: Tears of Blood
"Wait!" Sonia exclaimed, stopping him.
She stuttered, "...You know Alucard?" she asked.
Sonia stared up at him wide eyed, "Alucard... my lover... he-he's Trevor's father. How long ago did you see him? Please tell me!" she pleaded, almost demanding.

::A man from his appearance and clothing as the Ferrysman that has been rarely seen supposedly living far from the town where he wanders;walking around the town of Veros where he searches for valuable items such as money dropped down from his appearance making keen rummages on the ground finding nothing more than pebbles and broken glass not even looking in his way, but at a very short period time makes his look forward since his search is much more vast than just money grubbing.
His feeling of a prescence giving him abit of a instinct to act in his casual way, but going much more slower at the moment. He accidently bumped into a man with a large cloak covering from what the Ferrysman can see at the moment at a large hat having a mighty enigma. The Ferrysman has his back shifting back after this small bump, but not scared at all since he after all saw this man of a fate would soon cross..::
