Re: chapter 4 - what Cobble sees
The bugbear has moved towards the center of the pillar, which is why Daron's shot missed.

Chelsea approaches the pillar and takes something from a belt pouch. It's a potion vial and she opens it and drinks it down, tossing the vial aside. She then places her hands on the pillar.

Re: chapter 4 - what Cobble sees
The bugbear dodges Cobble's bolt, but John's bolt seems to scratch him as he jerks away.

Re: chapter 4 - what Cobble sees
Tya's arrow missed, so did Daron's bolt. The bugbear is back near the middle of the pillar.

Re: chapter 4 - what Cobble sees
Cobble's bolt struck the bugbear's leg, but the wound doesn't seem too serious as he ignores it.

Cobble's detect magic
Cobble notes in passing that the pool seems to have some magic in it.

He turns to look on top of the pillar, where Chelsea is lifting the copper arm. Chelsea's chain shirt and morningstar seem magical, as does the Arm.

Cobble stares at the Arm a little more, hoping to determine more. He is overwhelmed by the incredible strength of its aura and turns away. It is far beyond anything he has ever seen.

Turning to the bugbear, he notes that the beast's morningstar is magical. He removes the morningstar and rifles though the bugbear's pockets. He finds a purse with much gold in it, two potions (clear and light blue), both magical, and a large (1') deep blue marble with patches of green and swirls of white which is not magical but he recognizes it as a valuable "moonstone".

He recognizes the aura on the clear potion as being one of illusion, but can not determine the schools of the other auras.

edit - The bugbear himself seems to have some magic in him, as if a spell is active on him.
