protein bars are ok..ONLY.. if you don't have any other option--i always keep one or two on hand (Allmax Isoflex bars) just in case--only thing to keep in mind when choosing protein bars are the sugar content.
Your best bet would always be to first--choose whole food, second--choose a MRP )less additives and just as convenient-and third-choose a bar with less than 5g of sugar (1g or nil preferably)--your metabolism can only process a teaspoon (5g) of sugar at once. Its better to eat something than nothing at all!!!
A simple option for you would be to switch to the Detour low sugar--that bar tastes almost like the orig. but with 5g of sugar.
Other good bars would be:
Allmax isoflex
Think Thin
Carbrite
Ultimate Nutrition--sensation
If you need a sweet snack the Instone puddings are very tastey!! You just need to pack a spoon!!
Hopefully that helps

I always prepare my meals ahead of time and bring a cooler bag--if not i will make sure i have a bottle of water, shaker cup and an MRP powder
