diet pop/drinks
What are people's views on diet pop and other diet drinks ( crystal light...)
I have read mixed thoughts about consuming these while dieting.
Personally I find the sweetness helps with the bad cravings or will make ya feel full therefore you don't need the food to fill ya up.
But I have read articles and research explaining how the sweetners may and can actually trick your body into consuming extra calories in the long run.
I drink waaaaay too much diet pop. Nothing can "trick" you into eating too many calories, just dont eat extra. If the Crystal Light and diet pop helps you go for it, it is the lesser of many evils.

I have a difficult time digesting artificial sweeteners. I get cramps/bloating and it think it has an affect on my moods (I get really cranky!). I also find that the sweetness triggers a craving for anything sweet (that's not a good thing when I'm in contest-prep!)
I use only a small amount of natural sweetener (Stevia) on my oatmeal in the morning. I drink lots of water.
A great trick for making water more palatable is to cut up slices of cucumber and lemon, put them in a pitcher filled with spring water and keep it in the fridge. It's very refreshing! (note: replace the cucumber and lemon slices with fresh ones each day).
