congratulations
I think the Irish Olympiad team have just acheived the best ever performance in the history of Irish Chess after drawing with Romania. Added to that Sam Collins should have gained the Gold Medal

no norms though ;-)

On a more serious note, what does it say about chess coverage when the 2 correspondents chose to emphaise the low cut tops of the female players rather than the cutting performance of the players in their games themselves?

Tut tut!

The Olympiad
They'll be singing in the Teacher's Club :

" There's only one Sam Collins " !!!

Well done to all on a great performance. Is Sam's medal the first ever for Ireland ?

medals
no Brain Kelly won a medal in Elista? or was it earlier, I think it was for the same board. If history repeats itself Sam will be left off the team next year ;-)
