aug 1st/02 SOAD
absolute kick ass show!!!!!! Amazing,even though I had seats we couldn;'t get any closer. and the view.. oh the view.... BEAUTIFUL! perfect! I'd go see another show there any day as well. even where I was sitting. it was just perfect!
I'll honestly admit that I liked Pulse Ultra better then Meshuggah. Down did not play. Daron and Shavo played a little intro.
After only the 2nd song Serj told the people in the pit to stop and for everyone on the floor to back away like a foot b/c those in front were getting squashed against the barricade, he said that he knew someone was going to get hurt and he didn't want that. Serj's exact words "back up, back the fuck up, back the fuck up" was so good. Him and daron were all crouching and motioning to everyone to move back, I think daron had his tongue while making that motion. lol Nice guys though.
Serj also told the security guards not to hurt the fan that jumped on stage durng marmalade. Serj even stopped singing to tell the guards not to hurt him and not to kick him out. Very caring guys.
Daron is insane on stage. definitely has the disturbed artist thing going for him.
During prison song for the "i buy my crack/i smack my bitch right here in hollywood" part, the first time he said toronto, the 2nd time he said i don't know where the fuck i am, then the 3rd time shavo had come over and he finally said hamilton. twas quite funny! I buy my crack/i/my smack my bitch right here in Hamiltooooooon
In the seats the people on daron's side were sitting on thei asses, my side closest to shavo was standing, dancing around, moshing, jumping, and screaming the lyrics! I was probably 20 feet from the stage. great view!
after, Serj said that we were the vocalist bunch on the tour, and right after him and shavo gave each other the biggest, and longest hug. It was like they were that happy to either be there or happy at the response of their fans. It was just something special there for sure. those who went to both the montreal show and the hamilton show will have to say if our crowd was honestly at least better than the montreal one. anyways I may have gotten a pic of the hug.
Shavo is so fun to watch, I wish I was up close to him and I was screaming the lyrics out with him, heehee he's all over the place dancing jumping everything. high energy there. Serj is amazing, came out in almost a monks type of robe (it was red). John... wow just wow. mmhmm wow.
Shavo threw most of his braclets to the audience at the end, and made sure a certain fan got his guitar pick. John also took his time deciding where to throw his sticks off to at the end of the show
System was just so friendly to the audience. they were just in tune with the audience. amazing show. Daron spent a lot of time on Shavo's side. Not favouring one particular side, it was nice to see him over on my side a lot. No nudity.
oh yes! Serj had an abundance of rude thrusting gestures a lot through out the night. Serj dances are funny.
Serj, shavo and daron were so active it was hard to pay attention to John, if you did pay attention you missed something funny or cool that the other guys did.
oh yes. serj had a mock waltz with himself
and daron did this lil dance, wait he was shaking his ass all night. LITERALLY! but the funny/cute dance mr. Daron did was like this:
play a cord put one foot forward, play another cord and put the other foot forward and kept doing that.
shavo and daron was stage diving through out the night as well
I bought a disposable camera. I hid it camera in my bra and it worked. I got it in. 27 piccy's! We waited for proper lighting and hopefully hopefully hopefully the pics worked out. I should have them developed tommorow.
fuck I had awesome seats! I also had fun watching the pit at times, seeing people get reemed in the face, dropped, slam dancing, looked a little brutal at times.
if you chucked something on stage, they'd just chuck it back at ya.
The arena was probably 3/4 full, which would make the crowd at around 14000. yes 14000

Imagine was playing as we left...
they also did a dire straits cover in there. The sound was really good and during chop suey, when there was no singing, everyone was quiet. He thought it was almost a little eery that EVERYONE knew the song perfectly. Daron and Serj did do the harmonies for chop suey, gave me goose bumps.
That's almost 100% perfect/correct, my mind is a lil off right now.
Well overall it was an amazing show. I’m a very happy lass right now. and tired. uhm... there’s my lil novel in a nutshell
