 You can name the new minor league team
It's not Mets related, but I thought this was kinda cool:
Time is running out to enter the "Name the Team Contest" for the Phillies' Triple-A baseball team coming to Pennsylvania's Lehigh Valley in 2008. The contest is being run by Gracie Baseball L.P., operators of the team, and the Allentown Morning Call.
Fans may submit their suggestions at mcall.com/nametheteam or at lehighvalleyAAAbaseball.com through Sunday, Oct. 15 at noon. Six finalists will be selected from the suggestions for final voting and all six fans picked will win a prize pack that includes a team jacket and baseball cap, four tickets to the VIP suite and recognition during a game. In the event that more than one fan submits the same name a winner will be chosen randomly.

Beginning Oct. 18, fans will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite from the six finalists. Final voting will run through approximately the end of the month, and the team's name will be unveiled mid-November
