Who are you and what do you do?
I thought that it might be nice, since we're all members of IDF, to talk a little about ourselves and what we do for a living or for a lengthly period of time during the day.
I'm sure we all come from interesting backgrounds and I like hearing about those backgrounds and the vocations associated with them.
So...I'll start off.
I'm a full time student at Merritt College in Oakland, California; majoring in Computer Information Systems.
That's very brief and general, but I've typed long enough I think.
Good idea and it might encourage a little more message board activity with our crews...
I am normally called Josh by those who know me and Che by those in my spanish class and on the academic team (there is another Josh so I go by my spanish name) I am a 17 year old Senior at Branson High School and I am going to attend the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and I plan to major in History and take a double minor in Religion and Philosophy...I want to go to Japan and plan on studying overseas there and I am a minor who tries to keep up with politics and keep that career field within my mind as a possible plan B if being a history professor just doesn't work for me...peace
What I am and What I do 2
Well, I'm Lieutenent Thomas Hallet of the GWB and I am 15 years old and enjoy Star Trek TNG.
For most of the time I am in Yr10 at St Joesph's College in Stoke On Trent (College is just a fancy name for a posh school). I post most of the time during lunch time. I also like reading and drawing manga and coming up with my cartoons. I also (in a sad treky way) spend most of my free time (when not drawing Manga) reading Star Trek monthly magazine and watch my favourite movie of all time, Star Trek 6: The Undiscovered Country I hope One day I will command a Starship in IDF (watch out Josh).
My real name is Michael Wright, but most people call me Micko or Treky (How original )I got into Star Trek when Voyager began (OK so I liked Torres) and fell in love with it and still am today.
When I'm oder I want to be either a teacher or a journalist.
I think that pretty much covers what I am....Chow!!!
Re: What I am and What I do 2
I live in Chattanooga, TN and I'm a Security Guard at the mall here right now. Mainly what I do is catch shoplifters and try to prevent (but usually just take reports on) car break-ins or thefts.
I am currently attending Chattanooga State Technical Community College "majoring," I guess you could say, in Emergency Medical Services. I am training to be an Emergency Medical Technician with certification in IV Therapy and I'm nearly complete in my training. This May I will take the National Registry test and if I pass I get my license.
I don't want to be a full-time EMT, however. This summer I plan on (or rather hope to be planning on) attending the TN State Basic Police Academy at Cleveland State Technical Community College and completing it by the end of summer to begin my career as a police officer in Cleveland, TN. Cleveland is small city about 20 minutes north of Chattanooga where I live.
Eventually I will transfer into the Chattanooga Police Department and finish out the remainder of career there. I hope to be on the SWAT Team and end up in the Fugitive Recovery Division. Of course, if I when the lottery I will probably move somewhere more exciting and/or beautiful to be a police officer. I was thinking maybe Seattle. Yes, if I win the lottery I will still be a police officer, it's in my blood. I have to help people and bust criminals no matter what.
Re: What I am and What I do 2
I'm from Rockford, IL. I've lived in Azusa, CA and Tucson, AZ as well. In college, I majored in Computer Science and did a little of everything computer based. In the past, I've worked as everything from Data Entry at a plating company, to a 'grunt' at UPS (that paid for college) to my current job, a media researcher for Bacon's Information, INC., a clipping bureau. What does that translate to? I read newspapers all day. I type things on a dumb terminal. When our computerized instructions fit something in the newspapers, we mark the article or ad, where it is then shipped to Chicago where the clip is cut out of the paper, attached to an identifying header, and sent to the client.
So if you're someone famous, or a company with a new product, and you want to know what publicity you're getting, you come to us.
In another couple years, who knows? I'm looking to get a better job in a field that I prefer working in -- something multimedia based..

What Am I & What Do I Do?
I am a human being, first of all.
I am Lt. Commander Dusty Redroi, Chief Ops Officer on the greatest ship in Starfleet, the Excalibur, NCC 2997.
But in real life, I am Lee, I live in a little town in Pennsylvania. I am an Import/Export Administrator for a local warehouse/trucking company. I am married, with 3 wonderful kids, 2 girls & 1 boy. I am also the youth music director at Central Presbyterian Church, on the square in downtown Chambersburg, which means nothing to anyone outside Chambersburg.
I have been a Trek fan since Day One, September '66. My favorite series is DS9, & my favorite Trek movies are II, IV, & First Contact.
Oh, yes, I am old. Very, very old.
The Excalibur is my first & only attempt at RP/Simming, & I have enjoyed it immensely.
Anything else? Hmm, I can't think of anything. If anyone wants more info, let me know...

Re: What Am I & What Do I Do?Hmm..... well let's see.... I'm Human, (or at least I think I am, if you look at my baby piccie you'd think I was born Vulcan.... I never smiled, and Ironically, my ears looked pointed in this one picture....)
Anyways, I'm 14, and I live in Baltimore City, Maryland (GO RAVENS, GO ORIOLES!) :P (I've lived here my whole life, if you can't tell)
My name is Lindsay ( Anne :: glares at the people who call her Lindsay-Anne :: ) Belton
I'm an 8th Grade Student at Hazelwood Elem/Middle School, where I've gone to school since Kindergarten, I'm Vice President of the Student Council there, and Co-Founder of the Hazelwood Drama Club.
I'm going to High School next year, thank goodness (I just got my acceptance letter to Baltimore Polytechnic Institute (Poly) and I can't wait 'til I finally graduate this year.
Erm..... I LOVE Trek, though I've only seen DS9, VOY, ENT, and one Episode of TNG, which I'm glad was a good one LOL, I don't have cable, so I saw it in a hotel in Ohio last summer... and I've seen most of the movies, but I really want to see the DS9 eppies I haven't seen, TNG, and TOS... my friends think I'm crazy because of my Trek obsession, but I'll have you know I'm perfectly sane, thank you (or at least that's what I'd like to keep believing), and I'm also obsessed with SIMMs, so I'm in about 20 of em ATM, one (two as soon as Topica will cooperate) of them being an IDF SIM.
I also love Harry Potter and cats, and I want to be a Veterinarian after I get through High School and College, which won't be for another..... (let's see, 4 years of High School, 4 of reg. college, 2 of veterinary college) 10 years :P
And this is probably very incredibly long by now, so I'll stop here. Peace _\/_.

Re: Who are you and what do you do? Hello, my name is Leeta. I'm 22 and am a full-time student. I study psychology at Kwantlen University College, which is the largest of its kind in Canada - and study at the campus in my hometown of Richmond, B.C. Richmond is only a few kms away from Vancouver, and the YVR (international airport) is in my hometown. I've been a fan since 1987, when I watched the ST:TNG pilot and I've loved all of the series ever since. I have to say my favourite series is TNG, although I enjoy all of them and watch all in syndication (except Enterprise since I watch it when the new episodes are aired). I joined IDF in early March when I was recruited by my CO (Victoria Concord) and became DS15's CCO. I'd have to say that the most exciting mission that I've been on so far is the current one - so I guess most of you will here the synopsis in the next newsletter. It started in the middle of April, so part of it will be in the newsletter - the more exciting part I assure you.
