By earning the win in New York's 8-3 victory, Bacsik became just the fourth Mets pitcher in the last 25 years to win each of his first two career starts. He joins Eric Hillman (1992), Dave Telgheder (1993) and Robert Person (1995-96) in accomplishing the feat. He also became the first Met rookie to hurl a complete game since Masato Yoshii turned the trick on May 21, 1998, against Cincinnati.

Mets general manager Steve Phillips was adamant in his stance Monday afternoon that Shawn Estes and Jeff D'Amico would not be going down to Triple-A Norfolk to work on their respective suspect games.

Shut up Phillips. One of them should definitely go.
