Welcome to the board.
Sanduleak is the EZ Board name for James George, writer, musician and general all round lover of the arts.
The name 'Sanduleak' itself is taken from a star in the Large Magellenic Cloud that exploded in a supernova about 160,000 years ago (but which was only seen from earth in 1987.) Supernovae remnants become the spawning grounds for countless other stars - fits in with my take on nature continually regenerating.
So grab a cuppa, sit ye down and let us know who you are. Feel free to jump into any of the forums and discussions so we can get a serious buzz going.

Re: Welcome to the board. I'd forgotten that you'd probably seen some of my astronomy...er...lessons on other sites.
How'd you get on with 'A Brief History of Time' in the end? You signing up for a Masters' in Astrophysics?
Did you know that Stephen Hawking has an (autographed) photo of the great philosopher Homer Simpson on his desk? The dedication 'from Homer' reads;

Re: Welcome to the board.
Hi There, Thanks for the welcome. I love words and collections of them in various forms. I myself write short stories and occaisionally indulge in poetry. And I love to talk and hear others - see others? - talk. Can't promise to breeze on in everyday but will from time to time.

Hi.
my name is Bucky and Im not a writer, a poet, an artist of any kind but, I appreciate beauty so, will lurk and read and enjoy.
A beautiful site and you must tell me of that stunning picture of the maiden in the boat.....is that a poster ? what ? It takes my breath away when I look at it.....can a copy be purchased somewhere ?
The exquisite painting above is titled "The Lady of Shallot" by John William Waterhouse, one of the artists who was (tangentially) involved with the Pre-Raphaelite movement in England in the 19th century.
If you want to check out some prices etc a good place to start would be Art.com.
Cheers,
Sanduleak

Re: Hi.
Hi to you, too. I'm Soho, and Wednesday told me about this place. I like it already. At Arminus 9 and Wild City I'm "Deloney", and that was my handle at wbbs for a long time, then I morphed into "Branwell". I guess it's the poetry board I'll spend time in, but yacking about music sounds good, too.

Hi.
John is the poet and I dabble occasionally. I love to read and and am an ex-sculptor (..it got way too expensive and I lost my job teaching at the AGO) so now I am doing some drawing, thinking about watercolours and photography... an interesting selection for a woman with a visual disability! My favourite thing to do at the moment is listening to John read to me and then reading to him!

Hello
Hi, we (Emma and me) were told of this place by Soho and WednesdayMorning.
Where's the best place to ask questions? For example, I would like to know where the line for "porn" is drawn. I do write some erotic stuff from time to time. I also have a technical question or two about what some of the bells and whistles on the bbs do.
Welcome all. Ah, The Avengers. Classic television. I still have an original model car set from the 60s with Steed's Bentley and Emma's Lotus.
Steed, not sure about the line between (literary) erotica and porn but one rationale I've heard is that if a form is used solely for sexual titilation (with no attempt at backgrounding the emotional sense behind it) then it leans towards porn. I'm far from an expert on this subject so I'd recommend you post a question in the Fiction Writing forum to canvas opinions.

Hello back...
Ah Mr. Peter, Sir, our pleasure, I'm certain.
At the moment I only have two pieces that I both like and consider as erotica. One is a poem, the other a Short Short. I don't believe either of them to be porn, and both have been posted on several other boards without anyone complaining. In particular, women found them enjoyable, which I considered as a good sign. Yeah, I'm mildly sexist, I guess, in thinking women just naturally have a more refined sense of taste. I suppose I'd concede that that's probably not true, but then that would make it an illusion which I simply enjoy, and in this case the opinions of women did contribute to my feeling that I had written erotica, not porn.
Anyway, there was one board where the moderator removed the Short Short and would almost certainly have removed the poem too. That, plus being a newbie, caused me to be just a bit skittish.
Perhaps I shall just post them and see, figuring that they can always just be deleted. I'll talk it over with Emma.
We're all adults here, (Hey you, gimme back my rattle, waaaaah!!) ahem, where was I. Ah. Suggest you just post the poems in the 'members work' forum and canvas opinions.

looking forward to-
I was surfing - more like looking for diversions - and found this place. Sounds and looks great. I look forward to enlightenment and auspicious thoughts.
PLEASE! when I get to posting some work can people jump on it and hack it to bits. I love criticism: you gotta make the hen suffer to get good priced eggs
