Victory Conditions
Just to make sure I'm clear on the interpretation:
With Moscow safely under the Central Powers' control, Paris falls to the Germans. The French then take Berlin. Neither side can retake any of their respective capitals.
This would mean the CPs win because they satisfied their condition first... any argument?

Let me consult the rules and get back to you. I'm thinking it is a draw as neither side maintains the advantage.
"The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not."
- Thomas Jefferson
"The more is given, the less people will work for themselves, and the less they work, the more their poverty will increase."

Re: Victory Conditions
assuming 'full round of play' means from the time of capture to that capturing country's next turn, it seems logical that the winner is the one who holds capitals for a full turn first?
this is kinda fun as game 245 (JWL vs Boromir) has this exact scenario unfolding as Austria prepares for turn 15.
at this rate we should have an advanced tech sheet including things like mobile armour, aircraft carriers, and rockets..

That would seem a wise and prudent course of action that is 100% in agreement with the rules. As soon as one faction manages to complete the victory requirements, a full turn must ensue. If those victory requirements weren't thwarted, then victory is assumed.

Still dunno if it's gonna happen anytime soon though. We seem to be masters of the last second defense.

so when are ya gonna finish game ending battle take 1?
True indeed
This is definitely the right interpretation of the rules. Fascinating scenario, actually.

As it turns out...
I failed to take Paris (and it came down to the British storm troopers: extra movement point wins the game), and Pete took Berlin. No realistic chance to retake - game over after 15 rounds.

Dawg:
I could have put more French stuff in Paris instead of those British ST guys.... The difference would have been more French troops in Paris, and the UK guys in Hannover (which might have worked better anyway to fend off your last ditch gas attack on G15).
won't we all be glad when we've played enough to master all the little rules?
by the way, nice to see Imp :imp hanging around here once in a while!
