I know J.K. said that there were no Magic Universities, but we're straying from canon just a bit to make a truly unique experience. It's just opened and I'm still tweaking it a bit, but it's all set for rping.
The death of Albus Dumbledore shocked the entire wizarding world. Not only was one of the most powerful wizards in the world gone, but now there was no denying the Voldemort's reign of terror had began again.
Many panicked parents began pulling their children out of Hogwarts and the other magic schools in Europe. Some did what everyone seems to do when Europe is under attack; they packed up and moved to the States in hopes that Voldemort's grasp would not reach across the Atlantic Ocean. Those who left, left in vain. Voldemort's small devoted groups of Death Eaters had grown to legions.
Witches and Wizards began disappearing without a trace, just like during Voldemort's first reign. Whether they had died or simply gone into hiding, no one could ever tell.
Harry Potter decided to go back to Hogwarts, knowing that he would need all the knowledge he could get to defeat Voldemort. However his main concern was not the N.E.W.T.s., but Voldemort's remaining Horcruxes. Two were destroyed, he knew that, but of the two other's that he knew of, one may or may not have still existed, and the other was missing, possibly in Voldemort's own possession. There was still the problem of the other two, which were unknown.
Harry enlisted the help of his close friends to research the Horcruxes, spending night after night in the Room of Requirement or the library. Things were not looking good, until an urgent owl from Remus reached Harry, telling him to return to number twelve, Grimmauld Place. Upon his return, Remus showed Harry the locket, which they had found and paid little notice to. Remus strongly believed that this locket was the one that Voldemort had turned into a Horcrux, but he didn't know how to destroy it yet. Using his wand he forced it open, and as he did something like a puff of smoke came out of it and disappeared. The third Horcrux was destroyed.
Over time, the other Horcruxes appeared and were destroyed. A cup of Helga Hufflepuff's was smashed when it was found, hidden in a china cupboard at the Riddle House. Voldemort's trusted snake Nagini was killed when she was sent on a mission to Hogwarts to kill Ginny, in an attempt to get to Harry. The snake failed, and another Horcrux was destroyed. In the ruins of the old muggle orphanage where Tom Riddle lived as a boy, a silver quill with the crest of Rowena Ravenclaw was found and destroyed.
But time was running out before Harry had to leave Hogwarts. He believed that the last Horcrux, an artifact of Godric Gryffindor was hidden somewhere in the castle. He begged Professor McGonagall, who had taken over as interim headmistress, to give him a job, any job, at Hogwarts so that he could stay and find the final Horcrux. She agreed, making him Hagrid's assistant for the year, while his friends made their own plans for the following year (I'm leaving that up to whoever decides to play them to decide).
However, he wasn't alone at Hogwarts. The Order of the Phoenix was always around, protecting the castle, and Ginny, Luna and the Creevy boys were available to help him, even though they all had classes and finals to worry about.
Things everywhere were starting to look up. Voldemort, although still powerful, was starting to wonder about the absense of Harry Potter. He began preparing a massive defense to whatever Potter was planning. His near daily attacks slowed, as more of his attention was focused on Harry. He wasn't aware that his Horcruxes had been destroyed, except for the final one, but he knew that something was being planned.
In late March, Harry discovered the final Horcrux, the Sorting Hat, which Godric Gryffindor had created to carry on the sorting process. It had been under their noses for years, but no one ever suspected it. The hat was destroyed, and McGonagall and the heads of houses created a new one.
Now the year was almost over and the Horcruxes were all destroyed. All that was left was to kill Voldemort. However that proved more difficult than Harry originally anticipated, because Voldemort had disappeared completely. His Death Eaters still continued to terrorize the populus, but no one seemed to know the whereabouts of the Dark Lord.
A new school year is about to begin at Veneficus University and Harry will seek to find out what became of Voldemort, while beginning his Auror training... What will Happen next?
