Underage drinking
I had an interesting conversation with a lady friend of mine earlier this week. She was complaining about the customers in the shop she worked at, and it was really interesting to me, as I have voiced concerns about this subject to a lot of people.
My friend was saying that she works in a shop which sells alcohol, and was telling me about the rules for selling alcohol to teens. I know for a fact that she (and other Staff) sell alcohol to teens - probably unknowingly.
Despite the rule? law? which states that if you're 21 you must prove that you're over 18, teens are sometimes-but rarely-still served. It's easy to sell cigs/alcohol to underage people - they all look older than they are! You would be shocked to see how many people come into a shop and buy alcohol for youngsters! What should we do about it? Is there an answer? There must be.....but what on earth is it????????
Blimey Bren, there hasn't been a post on here since God knows when. I only came here by accident and spotted your post. Anyway wher've you been hiding, not seen you posting on any of the other boards for ages. Trust eveythings well your end.
