Travel
I have read some of the posts and noticed that a lot of people are very well traveled. I am sad to say even though I have traveling all around the USA...the only other countries I have been to have been Canada and Mexico and the Bahamas. How about everyone else.....tell us about your travels.

I feel worse! I have not been out of the USA at all! Been to Florida, Washington, Texas, DC, California, NY, NJ, and Pennsylvania.
Re: Travel
I've been to a few places, some a few times, some only briefly;
Australia, the USA, England, Scotland, France, Belgium, Germany, Holland, Austria, Italy, Tahiti. I've done only minimal travelling in the US (California, Arizona, Colorado, Texas, New York City, Hawaii.) I loved Colorado out of destinations in the US, though it's waaaaay too far from the ocean for me to live.
My other favourite places would be; rural North of England and Scotland, Vienna, Venice and Florence, San Francisco, The Gold Coast (Queensland, Australia.)
There's a fair bit to see in Aotearoa (New Zealand) - as anyone who's seen 'Lord of the Rings' can testify. A person could spend a lifetime just exploring and experiencing these islands.

Re: Travel
Sand....you have really traveled extensively.
Traumaddict......I have to look at all those states you traveled to and I see if I have been there. I have been to most of the northern, eastern and southern states.

In re-reading my post, I am even more embarrased! I left out Virignia, and that's where Gerry and I were married! Edited by: Lady Valar at: 2/2/02 1:54:43 pm

Re: Travel
Sand, you are so lucky to have traveld to so many different countries. From state to state things might not change much at all, but country to country can be like night and day. Being well-traveled as you are can allow a person to better understand humankind.
I'd wager that most of us, if we won the lottery, would travel extensively. That seems to be the dream of many people.
Saundra, America is such a beautiful and diverse country. Dunno about you, but I absolutely love long drives for that very reason. I can recall many mornings when my husband and I awoke before the dawn in a hotel room in an unfamilliar state, packed up the truck and kept on driving. There is a certain kind of excitement to such a journey.
Ahh travelling is awesome....

Re: Travel
All over New Zealand
Most of Aust states except South and Western Australia, (oh, and Tasmania.)
Singapore
Malaysia
Thailand
USA. Drove from Baltimore, Maryland to Kansas city and St Joseph, Missouri and back. then Cleveland Ohio and Los Angeles.
Yep, I've seen a little bit, though of couse nowhere as much as I'd like to.
We tend to look back even on the 'bad' experiences as at least 'interesting' once some time has passed.
If I had the dosh, I'd just about travel full time.

Trauma Addict.......that traveling that you and your husband did sounds great. My dream is that my husband and I retire early and get an RV and put the dog in the back and just slowly but surely make our way over the whole USA. Just take our time seeing whatever we want to see. However with the economy being like it is...I don't know if we can look forward to an early retirement. So we might have to be content with small vacations for the time being.

Re: Travel
I have been around the world, and have seen places like Saudi Arabia and Indonesia. I lived in Singapore for awhile. I love to travel, particularly in Europe and Asia, but I must say to those of you who haven't left the continental U.S., that whenever I travel, I eventually become extremely eager to come home. There is no place like the States; we have so many luxuries here. It is amazing! We as Americans are a very fortunate people!

Re: Travel
Hi Muse....its interesting that you say that because both my sisters who have traveled overseas have said the same thing. One said she doesn't even realise how much she misses the states until the plane sets down and she is back on US soil.
