Time Bandits
What about Time Bandits?!
This was almost a Monty-Python movie. Written by Michael Palin and Terry Gilliam, and produced and directed by Terry Gilliam, featuring cameos by John Cleese ('How long have you been a robber, then? Jolly good!") and Michael Palin, as well as a cast of dwarfs, it's very Python-esque!

Who knew that Terry Gilliam would go on to be such a genius after leaving Python?! Well, I did. :lol

Re: Time Bandits
I did not know about this movie. Recently I have found out about a few movies that were not official Python movies. I think I will add a section onto this board that is specific to these kinds of movies. I already have a forum under the movies section that deals with things they have done solo since python, but I think almost python movies deserve a new section. Being as this is a kind of new branch of Python for me, do you know of any other Almost Python movies? Thanks for you help.

Re: Time Bandits
The only other movie that springs to mind right away is 'A Fish Called Wanda'. It was written by and starred John Cleese, and also featured Michael Palin.

A lot of my favorite movies are Terry Gilliam movies, too.
Movies he directed, and sometimes wrote, such as Brazil, The Fisher King, Adventures of Baron Munchuesen (sp?), The Twelve Monkeys, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, among others.

You should also check out the DVD, 'Lost in La Mancha'. It was a documentary that came out last year that was about Gilliam's failed attempt to make a movie about The Man of La Mancha. The DVD has lots of extras that feature interviews with Gilliam.

You probably already know a lot of this stuff, but you never know who's out there in cyberspace reading along! :lol

Re: Time Bandits
I have heard of a fish called wanda and saw a few of the other ones you mentioned, but for the most part it was all new to me. I just got into Python about 1-2 years ago and was not even born when most of the Pythons work was put out. Any way, thanks for the info. I will see if another section could be made for this stuff:D .
