This can't be good...
...for my bank account.

I'm not even finished my current guitar project, and I'm already planning my next.

I figure it should occupy the next 5 or so years of my life. I'm thinking about a traditional-ish Strat. Vintage trem, single coils, chrome hardware.

Not sure what to do for the colour scheme.

Well, so far you're just planning, that's not too bad.. For a guitar player, it's normal. I already have a good idea of what I want for my next two guitars. I've got a guy in California working on one, but for the other I won't do anything until I have a job and build up my bank account.

When you start buying parts for the next project, then you're in trouble. Especially in your current job and financial situation.

Re: This can't be good...
Not to mention the fact that I'm in desperate need of a new computer (even more so than before).

I own two computers (technically) and I don't have either. My mom has my desktop, and my sister has my laptop. Originally, I had my sister's desktop (it was a switch of convienience, as she didn't have the room for her system in her room). Then, my uncle's computer went wonky, so I (with permission) swapped my sister's with his. It died (it's smaller-than-normal power supply died and none of the extra's I had will fit), and now I'm stuck with a 10 year old IBM Aptiva with a Cyrix 6x86 processor at 133 MHz. I went from having the two best systems in the house (though still inadequate for what I need them for) to having the worst (though, for some reason it runs better than my sister's Celeron 500 that my uncle is now using).

I won't start it until after I get a new computer, which I won't get till after I finish my current project (mainly because my current project will be cheaper than the computer I'm getting so I'll have the money for it first).

Ouch... New project guitar to start, but not until after getting a new computer, but not until the completion of the old project guitar. :lol

Oh, yeah, I forgot. Somewhere in there I have to save up about $12 000 for school.

White with maple fretboard. That's the only way to go.

How much do you have left to save up? The full 12K? Looks like it'll be a little while before you have the cash to do all that.

Yeah, I still have the full 12k to go, but I'm not sure when I'm going to go (I haven't even applied), so it's not my highest priority, at the moment.

Yikes... IMO, that should be first prioriety. It'll help you make more money later on and you won't have these money problems... of course, with a job you'll have all kinds of other headaches :lol

What school are you planning to attend, and what program? The music school you mentioned a while back? You were doing a luither thing before, right?

btw, I just thought of something... When you finally get this guitar finished, do you have an AMP to play it through?

Yeah it's the music production/recording school.

Yes, I have an amp, it's a POS (danelectro nifty-fifty, 15 watt practice amp), but it'll do for now. It's not like I'm in a band.

Hey, if the amp works for what you need, cool. :smokin

Well, it doesn't work for what I need, it just works (i.e. makes amplified sound with a somewhat controlable level of distortion). :lol2

Heh, so I guess we can add a new amp to the list of things to get.
