The War: Day 2
Else where......

A fleet of ships floated in the blackness of space, small single pilot fighters flitted about. Scouting and searching, making sure the area was secured. Or at least would get early warning should anything appear.

Onboard the main ship, there was plenty of activity going on on the main command deck. Comm specilists as well as other officers were busy at their stations. The ship's commander sat in her chair watching the display screens that were placed about it. Everything was within arms reach and with just the tap of a button, the screens would fold back down into the arms of the chair.

With a frown, Her Grace General of the White Duchess Zannatasia Vernadeau taped the button and sat back in the chair, proping her chin on her hand. "Damnit." she muttered.

Captian ValKyrin looked up from where he was leaned over a Comm officer's shoulder, looking at the reading. He looked back down and nodded at the comment the officer made before straigntening up and patting the young woman on the shoulder. Once he made his way to the command Chair he stood at ease next to it. "It's no use. We've tried everything. The trail ends here." he shook his head.

"Damnit." she said softly again. "Any suggestions Captian?"

"At this moment your Grace? Recall all the fighters and prep for light-speed. We might not be able to follow this trail further, but that doesn't mean we can't follow other DCP trails elsewhere."

Zan looked up at him with an arched eyebrow. "Oh?"

ValKyrin just grinned. "Yes your Grace. It seems that Earth system is taking quite a beating and therefore, it would seem feasable that we can track the DCP from there. And of course strike them from behind."

Zan smiled, and dramaticly placed a hand on her chest. "Why Captian, are you suggesting we strike the enemy behind? How Un-honorable." She chuckled as she stood up. "Sounds like a plan. Captian ValKyrin, the Chair is yours. Inform me when we have reached the Sol System. I'll be in my Office working."

"Yes Ma'am. I have the Chair." ValKyrin said as he saluted.

A chime sounded and everyone that was not currently involved with something saluted as Zan left the Command Deck, Master Walker a pale ghost of a figure following silently behind her.

The Captian dropped the salute as soon as she was gone and turned to face the others. "Comm; Re-call all fighters, and pass the word to prepare for Light-Speed. Navagation; prepare the co-ordiantes for Sol System and pass to all ships. Once All fighters are secure on deck, let me know." A round of 'Yes Sir!' from all parts of the deck could be heard. He nodded and sat down, bring out the display screens once again.

*******************************************

Back in the Haven System........

"Sir! Reports are still coming in, but so far almost all of the DCP fleet has been accounted for and destoyed," Lt. Kothie said as he looked at the data pad in hand. "We have suffered minor losses. Those ships that are no longer in battle have with drawn to the edge of the engagement area and are now engaged in repairing any damage they suffered."

"Thank you Lt. Kothie." Lord Stefan said as he nodded, hands clasp behind his back, watching the scene unfolding in the large Holo-tank that dominated the CIC(Combat Information Center) deck.

In the tank, symbols representing every ship in the Fleet was displayed as well as any other ship within sensor range. Even objects that were as small as a Fighter was displayed. White dots for the Upper Fleet, Blue for the Lower, Green for any friendlies, Red for the enemies, Yellow for unknowns. A sudden clammor from one of the stations as 1/3 of the Blue fleets turned gray then Red.

"What the hell?" Lord Stefan said.

"Sir! We recieved reports that The Emperor Vladamar has oppend Fire on the Empress Catherine and her support ships!" One of the comm officers cried.

"That bloody Bastard! I should have known." Lord Stefan growled, slamming his fist onto the edge of the tank casing. "Put me on line!" He turned and strode to one of the Comm displays.

"Greetings... Looord Commander." Duke Drakon said in a sarcastic voice as soon as the comm became active. "I'm sure your wondering what's going on. I had an offer I could't pass up and Well...I'm sure you will come to find out. Ta-Ta." With that the comm screen went blank.

There was a strained hush for a moment before hell broke loose.

"QUIET!" Barked Lord Stefan. "Communications, Contact ALL ships in the fleet. Broadcast that Traitor's words. Any ship or Crew members siding with Him is considere Emeines to the Crown and New Eden. IF they survive, they will be stripped of EVERYTHING and Exicuted as traitors. Someone Patch me through to the Palace."

"YES SIR!" came the replies from all over as everyone started scrambling to follow orders.

A moment later, a slightly staticy display came up of the Chief Schenashal of the Palace. "Yes Lord Stefan?"

"Get me Queen Makala now. It's important." Lord Stefan said.

"Yes My Lord." The screen went blank a moment, the only thing on it was the Royal symbol. A moment later it came back up. THis time with Queen Makala on the other end.

"What's wrong Father?" She asked in concern. It was early enough that while she was up, she wasn't dressed for the day's business.

"Drakon showed his colors. He's siding with the DCP." Stefan said angrily.

"That @#%$ Bastard." Makala growled.

"Watch your language." He replied absently.

She snorted. "Don't worry about things on this end. Kick his ass there in space while I kick it here on the ground."

"You've spent entirly too much time in Zan's company." he chided her with laugh. "Alright. I'll deal with things up here. But beware, No one knows what he's been hiding for all of this time. Take care 'Kala." He said, reaching out to press his hand against the screen.

"I will dad, you take care too." She said in reply, also pressing her hand against the screen. She turned her head and started to yell for someone to get the Commander of the guard to meet her in her office. The Screen went blank.

Re: The War: Day 2
Inside the trone room, the leader of the clan stroled around the room looking happy.

"Not bad for a first day at war with the entire federation of worlds. Even if I do say so my self. What of the reports comming in from the New Haven system?"

"Sir the patsy we have there just informed us that we have a new member to the clan. The person is called Emperor Vladamar. I belive the title should be changed to a general if he realy sides with us, but has allways that is your call."

"And so it is. The main reason why I keep you around is that you tell me the truth and give the opion that your little brain as also. The last advisor did not do so well."

"What became of him sir?

"Why your standing on him, of coarse." Just then the rookie advisor looked down and saw the rug for what it really was. A full lenth tanned and streetched skin on the floor. "Just don't make me sorry for picking you over all the rest. That is all for now, you are dissmissed." Turning on ball and toe, the advisor left the chamber. The back panel to the room opened up and out walked a sight that would send goose bumps down any ones spine.

"Well Commander Stargazer would be very upset over this. What do you say."

"That old geezer never liked me for who or what I could do. The plan is still in motion and the reward for my service is still needed."

"Yes. I belive you asked for three things, one the head of the planet master, two the woman of your choosing and last command of the Limbo sector to be handed to you. Is that all?"

"Yes and in exchange for vital info and the capter of the aurora woman, you also get my loyalty too."

"Good we have a deal then."
****************************************

"Raven what the hell is this thing?" asked Doll Master.

"I have no idea, but to say that this came from the Rilon sector and we need to get there fast. Ship head to the planet Rilon, and fast." The ship started to fold space and time to open a portal to the planet Rilon.

"Once we get there, what do we start looking for sir?" asked the twins.

"The bad guys of coarse. The d.c.p. must have set up a colony to develop these things and that would be the best place to do it."

Ambrosia attempted to recontact Lord Stafan with no success.

"I can't get through. There could be trouble."

"I could go see if any more news has come in."

"Great, Steele, please do that."

Re: The War: Day 2
"The package has been sent to the base in the Rilon sector, and the main fleet is ready to leave for the new system on your command sir." spoke the junior officer to the leader.

"Very well then lets get this thing over with. Did our new found friend make it back to the base yet. I would be very upset if anything happened to the silverhawk spy before we got the girl. And how goes the war effort in the Haven system?"

"Not good sir, but not a totale loss either. The new base is under construction on the New Eden planet and it will allow the main ground force to attack all the planet with little resistance."

"Good. Then tell general Silor and Death to start the campaign for the planet when they are ready. I want the planet back the way it was befor they got the idea they could stop the clan. When the planet is ours again, I will personaly come to pee on that planet as a sighn of our pride against these people."
*************************************

"Lord Raven sir the planet Rilon. Can we take over this planet too?" asked Talon. "Taking over the planet Automata was fun and a second would be nice to add to the collection too."

"Maybe, but for now lets just find this base. Highteck start a sensor sweep of the planet and ship go to cloak mode please."

With that the ship starts a serious of cemical solution to corase threw it veins and blend the ship to the natural surrondings of space. Highteck starts to scan the planet and finds a very strong pocket of gas built up around the center of one of the islands.

"That has to be it. The gas is a combination of methane and sulpherdioxide, with alittle of something I have never seen befor. Sir what do you make of it?"

The look on his face is a sight the crew as seen before and it always ment badnews.

"I have to go to my room for now, I wish not tobedistubedtalonyouhavethecomanddon'tleavetheplanet. Is that understood!" and withthat said he is gone and in his room.

Re: The War: Day 2
Aurora and Bani studied the information coming in to them over Earth Command's secure comminucations link.

"Do you recognize his race?" Aurora asked the admiral.

~No, I'm afraid not. What will happen now?~ Admiral Situ asked.

"Standard interrogation. Something more...creative if the interviewers think he's holding something back. It all depends." Aurora shrugged.

~I might have something to offer, in that case, or someone, actually. A specialist, trained in pressured interrogation. He might be able to elict something for you.~

"Thank you. I'll let Commander Landon know. It will ultimately be his decision."

An aide approached them as the feed shifted to the latest news report. "Latest report from the prisoner mop-up, ma'am. The Bedlamian Peacekeepers are having a hard time of it. They're asking if we can provide them with some support."

Aurora studied the printout of available units. "Yes," she replied after a moment. "Send the 1st, 5th and 7th, and put the 2nd, 3rd and 6th on notice to rotate in as needed. Send Flight Wings A and C on regular patrol of the galaxy until the SilverHawks can take over normal operations again. They're authorized to shoot on sight. The Mob's in on this War, so they're going to find out what it feels like."

******************************************

"So what's the latest word?"

The Saraha group had come out of hyperspace to the news that the Earth forces had a prisoner, though there was precious little word as to who it was or what kind of information he could provide. A group of enlistedmen had gathered in one of the rec rooms to compare notes and try to piece together exactly what was going on. The sudden change of plans, heading back into Earth space after the long trip to Haven Galaxy had been confusing at best. And everyone was worried about friends and family on Earth.

"No one's saying," a marine sergeant replied. "They got someone, and he's some kinda alien is all I heard. No one's said if he knows anything or not."

"I bet they're talking about that freaky thing hanging out in the Outer Rings," a pilot muttered.

"Someone said we were gonna attack it, but I dunno," another pilot said.

Overhead, the intercom crackled to life. "Marine companies 3, 8 and 12 to loading bay 1 immediately, Companies 5, 9 and 11 to loading bay 2. Flight Wings B and H report to mission control for immediate orders. That is all."

"At last, some action," the marine said, running for the loading bay.

"Sir the .... the ......thing in the bay is moving around in the holding chamber and we need to know what to do about it?" ask Doll Master. She was very nervous when Raven was not around. Not hearing anything from the room, she politly asked the ship to open the door to let her in like she always did. "Ship it's me. Please let me in to his room, we need to know what to do about the thing in your bay holding room." and with that the door opened.

Inside the room was pitch black and no sound came from the area at all. She walked in and turned on the light to see better, and that was when she found out that lord Raven was gone. Turning around and running out she whent straight to Talon to tell him, but before she said a word he responded, while rubbing his head, "No need to say it. You brodecasted it to all the senior staff the second you found out. I told you to watch it with the high level sending. The slightest emotion can send it stronger and further then normal, o.k."

"So now what do we do ?" she asked.

"Nothing. Tell the mage to get a barrier up and soon. I whant to know where he went off to in such a rush?"
**************************************

On board the flag ship for the Earth fleet a stanger comes out of a shadow and starts to head for the bridge.

~:"Uncle Steven. We need to have a family chat. Can you meet me in the confrence room now, or at your earlyest convinence. He is in the Rilon system and he has the 'OMEGA stone and is helping the clan.":~
*************************************
One the new lead planet in the Tartus3 system, the leader's ship lands and the three main generals are their to greet him.

"Sir we are glad to have you on the planet and lead this clan to victory. What are your ordears?"

"Find me the girl first, Kill the new Havenins second, and give me the Earth planet for a gift. Simple enough for you?"

"Yes SIR."

General Landon watched the beginning of hte interrogation through the thick one-way glass. "Anything yet?"

"No, sir," his intelligence officer replied. "He either can't or won't speak Standard, and we don't have what he does speak in the translation database. The computer's chewing o nit, but we don't have anything for comparison yet."

Steven listened to the chips and clicks for a few minutes. "Forward it to the Kalahari. Secure encrypted channel for Commander Buchanan. She's met up with the Mimians. Maybe they can make some headway on it." He was silent for a moment, eyes far away. "Call me if you get anything," he instructed, leaving abruptly.

Admiral Situ looked up at Aurora. She had a twinkle in her eye that she gets when she has an idea.

"Perhaps one of the Holy Ones could help."

"Holy Ones? How would they be able to help?"

"They have special...gifts. They have the ability to see into the Third Eye."

"The Third Eye? You mean the mind?"

"Yes."

"Are you trying to tell me that they are telepaths?"

"Not exactly," Bani warbled. "It's kind of hard to explain to outsiders."

Aurora pondered Bani's offer. She really didn't want to rely on the mystical to help them with this situation, but what choice did they have.

"Alright, let's give it a try."

Re: The War: Day 2
On the planet Seto in the Tartus3 galaxy, a lone man walks around a stone piller. He has the weight of a whole nation on his shoulder and now must decide the next move. See a battle is waging on two sides and the thought of loosing is nowhere in sight. It's the thought of spending too much in resources on a target that really did not require that much. See the one and only big crime against the clan is treason, and the other is waste. The clan as a whole does not like to waste anything, money power time and men. The other battle is trying not to get killed. See the thought that only one side will use spys is great, but foolhardy. Everyone has spys and uses them, so where are they in his groupe.

"Sir a freighter was seen leaving the planet and heading to one of the moons in the Earth system. What is your command sir?"

"Nothing ......for now. Let them think that a lonly freighter is beneth the thought of the clan, then when they let the guard down, we strike."

"Yes General Garth. We will let you know if anything changes." and with that the guard turns and heads for the base.

Comming from the right side of him another lone figure approches.

"General. I do hope that the room was up to your standerd. The last thing I wish is to affend anyone." spoke the leader of the fraction from the New Haven system.

"No Duke Sharwood, the room was very nice and the base is in exalent condition since we last was here. The leader will be very pleased and wish to give you something in return."

"Oh thank you a thousand times over kind sir. The leader will be arriving then soon?"

"No not yet. He still needs to find a source of the mineral around here and set up a base to start minning it. Hades had a bunch of it, but those cowards chose to die in an explosion then on a battle field. the planet was rich in the stuff and they used it to blowup the planet."

"I know sir. Such a great loss to the clan, and the war. If we had gotten a foothold in the moon and then set up a gate this planet would be under the command of the clan right now."

"Don't remind me of things I allready know worm" he said with gruff in his voice. "The leader will know what to do if anything can be saved from this loss. He is affter all the leader." and with that he turns around and heads back to the base.

"worm. He called me WORM. The nerve of him. When the leader comes I will ask for his head on a plate for this."
*******************************
On board the flag ship for the Earth forces,

"Sargent, get me the readings report from the last battle. I wish to go over them again." Looking at the sargent and not seeing him even breath, he slowly turns around to see his nephew sitting in his chair and going over classified papers. "What the hell do you think you are doing?"

"Hello uncle Steven. Did you see the report here on the gate near the planet Jupitor. WOW some piece of work these clan people are. Well on to more pressing matters. I have found .....and why are you pointing a gun at me?"

Standing less then ten feet away is the general of the Earth forces Steven holding a classic .45 and pointing in the direction of the infamose pirate Raven Blackwing.

"One; just one, good reason why I should not blow you away. Oh I have orders to do so on site, and I have the desire to do soo. Especialy after that little stunt on the Mars base. So why should I not do this. Please tell me!"

"Great grandpaw is here, in this dimesion, and on the planet Rilon. The other is that I did not hit the base on Mars. You know Mc. Beth would not have alloed me such a cowardly way to fight. So what now?"

The only thing Steven could do was to drop the gun and send a message to aurora. ~<My love. I have to go away for a while. Don't freat none, I will see you soon.>~ and with that he blows her a kiss, and is gone.

The crew look around and act like nothing ever happened. The only thing is their leader is gone and no one knows where too.

Re: The War: Day 2
On board the ship the S.S.Nightmare, Raven and Steven arrive to see the trouble on the surface of the planet. The welcome they get is not what Steven would have asked for.

"What the hell do you think you are doing cap? He is with the other side." shouted Lowteck.

"Like duha. We have a mission to do on the surface and I needed some cannon fodder, o.k. Now that tweenty questions is over you have new orders. One, Talon you have the helm, two head to the New Haven fleet and join with Zan. Then she will give you orders and you have to do them, until the ship comes under a threatning attack. That is all." Turning around he shot Steven a wink and wispered that he was only kidding about the cannon fodder bit. He then motioned to follow and headed to the bowl of the ship to a locked door, marked 'mirror room'.

"This is the secret that the crew has no idea of. This will get us part way down and hopefuly back in time to help with the war some more."

"Well since you put it that way sure why not ALEX. We had better get back, I made a promise that I intend to keep. Oh, and from now on I am in charge."

With all the formalites out of the way the two enter and find Queen Titanay's mirror, and step in and out of time to the place they need to be.........
*******************************************
One the planet New Eden............................
"Sir we nearly have the gate built and the time fram is two days ahead of schedual."

"Good. The leader likes it when we are a head of time and in the lead." said the general.

Re: The War: Day 2
Aurora paced the length of the deserted conference room in agitation. A little over 24 hours into the war agains tthe Demon Clan Pirates, and already, Limbo Galaxy was in shambles. Hawk Haven gone, the Penal Planet in chaos, Automata under the control of enemy or enemies unknown, and their own forces burrowed into a secret facility deep in a mountain range. And Steven's enigmatic message, telling her not to worry, had only had the opposite effect. She'd had to fast-talk Earth Command into holding off on chasing him down as a deserter. Explaining that she had complete faith in his plan, without revealing that she had no idea at all what he was up to had been beyond difficult. But his excellent record, coupled with her continued presence and powers of persuasion had won out in the end, and the Earth Fleet continued to fight back the invaders, confining them, for the moment, to the Outer Planets.

The interrogation of the captured general was proceeding painfully slowly, translated questions and answers travelling between the galaxies with all possible speed. But meaningful information was slow in coming.

The door slid open, and Aurora stopped short behind her chair at the head of the table. It wouldn't do to let anyone know how nervous she really was.

Phen-Toh, the former Lieutenant Governor, now Acting Governor, entered. "We have a new problem, Commander."

Aurora bit the inside of her lip. New problems were the last thing she needed. "What's happening now?"

"Ships are falling idle all over the Galaxy. Seymour the Space Hack managed to make an emergency landing in the City's Space Port, and we brought his ship down here. The engines are crammed full of some kind of spore. He said the galaxy's crammed with them. Frankly, he was lucky to make it back in one piece."

"What does this mean for out fleet?" Aurora asked.

"What ships are on the ground now are stuck here. THose orbiting the planet are going to drift until they can get the engines cleaned out. But even when they do, they won't be able to move without risking the engines being clogged again," Phen-Toh said.

"Someone's trying to pin us down without hurting us," Aurors reasoned. "They want something we have, and when they're ready, they're going to come get it, and we'll be helpless."

"Not necessarily," Phen-toh said. "I went over some of Governor Xander's files overnight. He and Comander Stargazer were planning for something like this. They were responsible for the creation of this base, and I think there's more, too."

"What do you mean?"

"There are files, notes, details about secret weapons, another location, somewhere in the Zher'Shev Mountains. If you and Commander Quicksilver have time, I think it's worth taking a look."

Aurora considered for a moment. Certainly, they weren't getting anywhere at the moment. They would be taking a flying leap, going out to look for a phantom base half-way around the planet that was only rumored to exist. But it might be their only chance. "Let's go."

"Commander! Commander Buchanan, wait!"

Aurora backed down the ramp of the skimmer to see a roly-poly individual trotting toward her, a green... bird, she supposed, flapping along behind him.

"Commander, wait a minute, you know what I mean?"

She let the others enter, waiting at the foot of the ramp. "Can I help you?" she asked as he trotted up.

He scrabbled at his neck, dragging a chain over his head. "I had to give you this." He handed her the chain, a white plastic card swinging on it. One side was completely blank, the other marked only with a magnetic strip.

"What it is?" she asked, looking at it curiously.

"Commander Stargazer gave it to me before he... before. He said when things got bad, I had to give that to whoever came to deal with it. You're gonna need it."

She slipped the chain over her head. "Thanks. You're the cabbie, right?"

"Yes, ma'am. 'Here or there, Seymour's got the fare that's fair.' Except not right now, 'cause of the spores."

She smiled faintly. "This may help a lot, Seymour. Thanks." She climbed up the ramp, and the ship closed up and rose slightly, cruising out of the hangar.

Halfway around the planet, the Zher'Shev Range rose majestically into the clouds. The easily topped 30,000 feet and were powdered in thick white snow.

The ship cruised over the range, skirting the highest peaks, buffeted by the harsh winds. Dropping into a depression between two summits, the radio picked up a signal, and the homed in on it, landing in a tiny valley.

They exited the ship, bundled in cold-weather gear, tracking the signal with hand-held radios. The signal led them further into the mountains, and they found themselves in front of a huge metal door, sealed shut, the only sign of activity a flashing light on a small magnetic reader.

With a look at the others, Aurora, slipped the chain from around her neck and slid the magnetic strip through the reader. The flashing red light turned yellow, and a palm-shaped interface slid from the door. Aurora placed her hand on it, and a light passed under it. There was a pop, and she snatched her hand away. "Damn thing poked me," she murmured.

"DNA confirmed. Please enter now." The doors creaked open, reavealing a huge opening behind then. A figure stumped into the light.

"Wondered what's been keepin' ya. Well, come on in. We don't have all day.

Re: The War: Day 2
They stood on a gantry high over the assembly line floor, a row of missiles under construction. Robot arms swung in a programmed ballet, lifting, holding and welding with pinpoint precision. The finished rockets were lifted from the line and stored in racks against the far wall, the length of a pair of football fields away.

"Unbelievable," Aurora breathed. "How far underground are we?"

"100 kilometers. That's measured from the peak overhead to the floor of the complex, which you're lookin' at right now."

Their host, Sprigon, had proved to be a god-send. His remote factory and research lab was filled with new creations, all waiting to be put to use. Original designer of the Maraj and Hawk Haven, he was now prepared to offer the kind of help the SilverHawks and Earth Forces needed.

"So those 're the Doomsday rockets. Not quite as powerful as the originals, maybe, but they'll still pack a whallop. And that's not all. Come on down this way." He led them along the catwalk, and Aurora fell into place next to Quicksilver.

"Did you know anything about this?" she asked.

"No. I hadn't gone through all Commander Stargazer's files before the station was destroyed. But it's clear he had some idea that something was coming. He and this Sprigon must have been in close communication. I'm a little surprised we missed it, frankly. And a little disturbed. And why did your DNA open the door?"

"Commander Stargazer was my father. But I didn't think he knew. My mother told me he chose to remain in the service, and she couldn't live with the fear. As far as I knew, she never told him."

"Looks like that might not be the case."

"Looks like."

Re: The War: Day 2
Inside the palace of duke Sharwood, two gaurds are on patrol around a fountain, in the middle of plaza. Alone figure aproches and gives hail from the clan.

"Halt ! Where do you think you are going?"

"Inside."

"Inside where?"

"The base under that fountain. Now move or die!"

"We don't think so" The two gaurds pull out their rifels and open fire on the stranger. With a blur of motion the stranger turns on a dime and inverts his arms to alot space for the twin swords comming out. He then jumps over the firring men and jabbs the swords right into their spines and with a twist breaks them in two.

"You should have done that in under 15 seconds not 30."

"Yes my lord. The leader sends word that the prison planet is ready to be moved and wishes to know the time frame for the gate here."

"Well general Death, the gate is right on time in construction, but the fuel source was lost in the destruction of Hades. We have sent word to the other gate to send some ore here, but since the ore is to unstable to send through the gate. They will have to send it by shuttle and that will take some time. We have some ore to open a window for about thirty minutes and that will take all we have here."

"Very well then, I will have to tell him to expect a progress report in two weeks then."
****************************************

"Planet master. These damn spores are every where. We can't fight those hawks if we can't get to them."

"Tell Windhammer to get a storm and blow these thing out of the way."

"Yes sir planet master." said robo yessman.

With the storm to blow the stuff out of the way the mob moves to the old spot of hawkhaven and sets up a jamming satalite. With the Earth fleet in dire need of some help, the mob goes about setting bombs on the under hule of the ships.

Re: The War: Day 2
"Sir, we have reports of intruder in the periphery of several ships, as well as several small deviced attached to the ships. Probably bombs, from their signature."

Lieutenant Commander Barter, second in command of the Kalahari group, looked up from his display. "Have you informed the Commander?"

"She's out of communications range sir, late I checked. We've been jammed for the last few minutes."

Barter frowned. "Let's have a look. Bring up camera 4."

One of the viewscreens lit up, showing the underside of the main carrier. the view swivelled, and a strange metal protrusion came into focus, a light blinking on it. "Well, that's not good. About how many of these are there?"

"At least 30, sir. There's been some difficulty getting an accurate count."

Barter nodded. "Okay. Well, we're on our own up here, at least for the moment. Let's tickle them, and see if that helps. All hands to stations."

There were a few moments of quiet hustle, and every seat on the bridge was filled. "Ready for orders, sir."

Barter settled into the captain's chair. "Electrify the outer hull."

Inside, the lights all over the ship dimmed for a moment as the power was diverted. Outside, crackles of electricity raced along the ship'd outer plating, arcs forming from one bomb to the next, shorting out the circuitry in each of the bombs.

"Think that did it, sir?" the deck officer asked.

"Probably, but let's be sure. Contact the other ships, tell them to secure inner shielding. I want safety limits for a Nova-detonation."

"Minimum safety for this planet is 150 kilometers, sir. Recommended 200."

"Can we get that far with these spores?"

"They seem to have thinned out sir. We should be able to make that distance."

"Sir," the communications officer broke in. "All ships reporting secured and ready for Nova."

"Good." Barter tightened the restraints on his seat. "Shut down all non-essential equipment." The lights dimmed, only to be replaced by emergency lighting, and Barter flipped up the cover over a flashing button. "Open a channel to all ships. Prepare for Nova. 3... 2... 1... Activating Nova." He depressed the button, and an electro-magnetic pulse ballooned out from the Kalahari. It passed harmlessly over the ships themselves, killing the last of the bombs. It dissipated harmlessly once it reached the upper atmosphere of Bedlama, but spread out in a wave through the rest of the galaxy.

Re: The War: Day 2
Sol System......

Floating in the blackness of space, the only evidence of anything there was a slight ripple in the star patterns. And unless one knew what to look for and where to look, one would never guess that a small fleet waited there.

It had taken hours longer then needed to ghost into place. They had come out of Lightspeed well short of the Earth system and used their forward momentum as well as specialy designed Stellar sails to coast the rest of the way in. Those not needed at station was taking all the down time they could. And those that were on duty were silent, grim and very consious of what it meant to be discovered.

Sitting in the Commander's Chair, Zan watched the screens. And waited. The soft background murmur a soft soothing balm to the jangled nerves and ever increase wish to smash into the Demon Clan like a beserk warrior bent on taking the enemy with them into the firy pits of hell.

"Sir!" called an ensign from his station. "We have a conformation. A Large fleet of DCPs just exited that object stationed in the outer section of the system."

Zan barred her teeth in feral grin. "Good. Is everything ready?" She asked the ship's captian.

"Ready and waiting on your orders." ValKyrin said.

She nodded. "Lieutenant, contact all ships and inform them we will move in 5 minutes. They have their orders. Hit and Run. Take as many as the bastards out as possible."

"What about that gate thing ma'am?" the Lt. asked.

"Don't know where it goes, but I feel like exploring. Straight into hell where I can spit in the devil's eye as I Rip his balls off and shove them down his throat if need be!" she replied.

There were growled cheers from her words along with looks of near insane pleasure from the image her words produced.

When the 5 minutes were up, the ripple effect faded away as a fleet of New Eden ships appreared from seemingly no where and made a straight shot towards the DCP Star Gate. Not only was there the two main Dreadnaugts Ships, but there was also a half a dosen Super battle Cruisers, a dozen battle cruisers as well as a score of Carriers, each of whom carried several squadrons of heavy attack craft, light attack craft and twice as many fighter squadrons as the other two combined.

Each Carrier launhed two squads of Fighters who shot ahead and started attacking any DCP craft they could target. They knew they might not survive and had been volunteers. There was a good chance that if they did survive this battle, they would not survive the trip to where ever the rest of the fleet was going, therefore they were specially equiped with Kamakazi bombs. Those that were left alive once the fleet had gone though the gate, would target the nearest DCP and go for the kill.

Re: The War: Day 2
"Sir it seams the New Eden fleet has finally made it's location known."

"And where the hell have they been?" asked the leader to the messenager.

"I don't know where they have been hidding, but they are attacking the fire fleet while exiting the gate. The fleet is tring to hold them off and stop them from getting into the gate, but should they fail. The new system will be under attack."

"Yes they will. What of the Bedlamma situation?"

"Sir our spy on the planet says that she took off with Quicksilver and headed for a spot on the outer edge of the mainland. The mob tried to blow up the fleet, but the fleet used a high level e.m.p. and not only took out the bombs but also the spores. How did they know what to use sir?"

"No idea. Tell the new system to be on high alert and send the prison planet to bedlamma. Compliments of the clan. They heavy wepons we have on the planet should blast the planet to the stone age again."

The messages were sent to the people who were in charge of what ever task needed to be done. The prison planet was now one big flying fortress of doom and in route to the home planet of hope for the Limbo galaxy.
************************************
Meanwhile in the Earth galaxy..............

"Sir they have breached the gate wall and are in route. What are your orders?"

"Let them pass. Lets mop up what we have here and take out the planet Earth. These New Havenins care nothing for the Earth people. If they did, we would be fighting them all for the gate and not letting them go to the New system. With the Earth fleet still split up and out of commission, we will have little resistance to the planet Earth."

"Sir the general on the planet New Eden says the gate is finished and is asking for a shipment of ore to fuel the gate."

"Granted. Send 1,000 tons of the stuff and get me something to drink. Killing Havines is such hard work." and with that the whole crew started laughing.

Two hundred ships lost in the first wave of the attack, and two of the carriers were destrod. Most of the battel ships survied, and the carnage of the other fleet was just as harsh.

Re: The War: Day 2
With the gate on the New Eden planet up and running, thousands apon thousands of tanks and heavy lifting air ships flood the natural cave formation. The operation crew are busy running around and getting the most out of the gate they can. With all the shafts leading to the surface on high alert and scouts out and patroling the woods around the five openings. The situation is so intenss, you could have cut it with a knife.

One scout is looking at a very strange thing hanging from a branch, when a pair of arms come around his neck and give a slight twist. With a gut wrenching sound the mans neck snaps in two and falls limp to the ground. Taking his vest of the tree he looks around one last time and moves to the cave opening.
***************************************

On the planet Sirus.....
"Sir we got our first report from the spy."

"Well what news does he have?" asked the leader.

"Not a whole lot. The planet has a new govener, goes by the name of Phen-Toh. We seam to be on his high list of things to get rid of, for some odd reason." said the messanger with a slight chuckel. "The other thing is we have the gate opening on the planet of New Eden, and all seams fine. Any thing you wish to tell them sir?"

"Yes. This Queen Makala, she seam to be the bothersome type. I wish to have her killed. Send the best. Send in general Cristal. She has the training I require."

"Yes sir. So you wish to recall her from the Bedlamma problem then?"

"Oh; yes for now. Was there anything else?"

"Yes, the Saraha fleet arrived in the Earth space alittle while ago and the gate was attacked. Some of the forces did get in and are heading to the new system. Lord Stafan of New Eden has brandished our clone of Drakon a traitor and now the fleet is in your hands. Any orders for this new found fleet? Oh yes one last thing. He has some company on the planet Rilon. He sends word that this will be big and then the signal went dead. We are also currently trying to get in some type of signal to respond, and the assassination of commander Buchanan is still under way."

"Well. We have alot to do then so hop to it. Send the new fleet home. We can use them to bombbard the planet from space if the ground troops fail. Kill the commander when we finish here and send in the prisoner we have from the mimain home world. I have never seen one up close and in person."
*****************************

"What do you mean Hardwere? You failed again to blow up some thing. Well get on to the next thing you have and fire off the sun crystal. That pesky Flashback is no where in sight and this will please the leader if we take out the planet our selves. What is it Mombo-Jumbo?"

"The planet is moveing."

"What planet?"

"That one boss."

Looking around and seeing through the moniter, the entire prison planet was heading to the planet Dol-lar. With massive drive jets the size of the one's on Brimstar, the planet moved slowly, but none the less moved.

"What in the name of all that is golden................

Re: The War: Day 2
Sprigon pulled open a heavy vault-type door. "This is where the real goodies are."

He ushered them inside a clean-room laboratory, where row after row of slim missiles lined the far wall.

"These are the Star Shields. A few of these missiles, exploded just above the upper atmosphere will protect the planet from laser or missile attacks. They can be manipulated with magnetic fields to permit the passage of ships and communications. Unfortunately, they block out the sun, which creates certain problems, but better to cope with that than seeing a whole planet destroyed."

He was prepared to expound further when Aurora's communicator buzzed, startling everyone. "I thought this site was radio shielded," she said, unclipping it from her belt.

"It should be," Sprigon said. "Someone's burning a lot of juice to get through to you."

She flipped it open and heard a loud hiss of static, barely making out Lieutenant Commander Barter's voice under it.

"...mander Bucha... ...tempt on the flee... ..ceeded in defend... ...Nova... ...pores eliminat..." The signal degraded beyond understanding.

"I need to get to a radio. It sounds like things are going on up there we need to hear about."

He led them to a communications center, and Aurora moved immediately to the radio. "Barter, this is Buchanan. What's going on up there?"

"Thank heavens we reached you, Commander. There was an attempt on the fleet, but we suceeded in defending ourselves with the Nova technology. It had the fortunare side-effect of eliminating the spores as well. We'll have the engines cleaned out and ready to go in less than an hour. But that's jus the good news. The bad news is that the Penal Planet is on a direct course for Dolar, and no one's quite sure why."

"That'll be our department," Quicksilver said. "We'll pick up some of the Peacekeepers for extra muscle and get that straightened out."

Aurora nodded. "And I have a battle group waiting for someone to point them in the right direction. Good luck Commander. Call if you need any back-up." She turned to Phen-toh. "Governor, I need to get back to my carrier. Let's figure out how we're going to divide up those missiles and the Star Shields, and then I have to get back to Earth. THe majority of the trouble seem to be out there for the moment."

"Good luck, Commander."

"And to you, sir. We're all going to need it."

Re: The War: Day 2
It was complete bedlam on Penal Planet Ten. Just about every thief, bandit, and burglar there was already making plans for the loot they would snatch from the bank world of Dolar. The prisoners were making such a rukus it was giving the Planet Master a massive headache. He finally managed to find a quiet spot to brood alone. He wasn't alone for long. He snapped out of deep thought when he felt a hand on his shoulder.

"What are you doing in here all alone, love?" came a soft, familiar voice.

"I've got a headache and I'm surrounded by idiots," Mon*Star grumbled.

"Aww, poor baby," the female cooed as she hugged him about the neck. "You know you really should be more excited. We're about to be filthy rich."

"We're already filthy rich, baby."

"Nothing wrong with getting even filthier."

"Yeah, I guess you're right," The grusome ganster smirked as he pulled his companion onto his lap. "With the Silverhawks busy with this war, it should be pretty easy to pull this off...if those dimwits out there don't screw it up."

"Why rely on them when you can do it yourself?"

"You know, Liza, you're always full of ideas," he complimented as he nibbled on her neck.

"Of course, that's what mob wives are for, deary."

Re: The War: Day 2
The s.s. Nightmare took off from the Rilan system at the highest speed it could muster. The power core was extremly hot and ready to go off at the slightest touch. Orion was called to help and with the aid of Talon and High Teck, the three helped keep the core from exploding.

"So why are we leaving the system so soon?" cried Doll Master.

"Because Raven is not here any more and is in the Limbo galaxy. How he got there I have not a clue. Some guy named Steven is with him, and he sent the message to us to meet them in the system. We need to be there like yesterday and we can't get this thing to move any faster. How about it H.T., any thoughts?" spoke Talon.

"Yes and no. I have plenty of ideas, but no time to make them."

"Why not let the ship fold space?" asked D.M.

"Because that would cause more problems for the Limbo galaxy then they need. The space that would be needed to do that takes up alot of room and the galaxy does not have it to spare."

"So why not simply dimension hop then?" This caused the crew to stop what ever they were doing and give her the look of 'what are you talking about'. "Raven showed me once and we went to a place he called Avolon.

At that Orion stumbeled back and clutched the walls for support. "Child what did you say?"

"Raven showed me how to get the ship to go into another dimension and then back out again. Why is this so hard to belive?"

"Not that, the part about Avolon. You have been to the fabeled island of Avolon?"

"Yes. I will tell you more later, right now we need to get to the captain and fast. Ship.......start up the power to the mirror room and send us to the Limbo system and fast."

The ship started to slow and for a second seamed to drift in space. Then the lights started to flicker and the power cords comming off the main drive started to glow. They trailed all the wat down to the mirror room and into a simple yet finly crafted full leanth mirror.

"Why that is the mirror of Titianna. How did Raven get it?" asked Orion.
