The Shadows Beckon
THE SHADOWS BECKON
as my world slowly crumbles
and the shadows begin to fall
hopelessly i try to hold on
wanting desperately not to lose all
seems all i can grab are weeds
that can not hold my weight
so, while i might have a moments peace
i'll stumble yet again
bringing me closer to my fate
the darkness that surrounds me
holds me like a friend
all the while deceiving me
as it my heart does rend
it whispers sweet nothings in my ear
causing this trance im in
i welcome the dullness i now feel
and the shadows beckon once again
how do i answer to their call
for now i'll just sit and wait
because with the shadows there is light
and salvation
just out of reach
is still within my sight
