The Light
THE LIGHT
i swim in the darkness
is this ocean too deep?
i reach out to find
eternal hope, as yet not mine
through the darkness i see
a shard of light
from where can it be?
i dare not look
for it will blind me
i'll swim away
i'll look another day
yet the light stays with me
it wont let me stray
is this the hope
i so desperately seek?
my life, my world
could it make less bleak?
i turn toward the light
scared and unsure
in it, for my heartache
will i find a cure?
for now i'll stay here
while it lessens my fears
keeping the distance
loosing grip on resistance
