The End?
Hey guys,
Child of Fire is posted, and that wraps things up for Zeke. We've been working on this series for two years now, and have invested many many hours in it. It's been a lot of fun, but none of us were willing to commit to a fourth season.
So last May we decided that this would be the final season. Brimstone is a tough series to end, like the Fugitive, in that the whole series is motivated by finishing a task. Either it is accomplished, or it’s not. You can’t just pick it up later and continue to tell stories, not with the same theme. So we decided that all the damned would be linked to Ash, and that when she goes, they all go. End of story.
But it leaves lots of room to go back and play in. Stories can be set prior to Ash’s demise, featuring Damned souls that we haven’t met, or favorites from the past. There will be a series of ‘Last Day’ stories, like the kind featured in Chapter 12. They will be short stories about new damned souls, describing how they were living their lives on the day they get sent back to Hell. Starting at 300 words, they will be easy to write, and anyone who would like to contribute to this section, please contact us.
There are also plans to tell the story of the first hunter, the one before Stone, in the Summer of 2004. Other ideas for spinoffs and new stories to tell are being kicked around, but nothing definite.
So! The Brimstone VS will no longer be bringing regular episodes to a computer near you, but will continue to add new stories from time to time, as well as remaining the best source for Brimstone links and info on the web! So stop in from time to time and see what’s new.
Thanks to all our faithful readers over the last few years. We’ve had a lot of fun telling these stories, and hope we kept you entertained. The damned have been returned!
