Prologue: The Birth of Red the Mole

As many of you know, my history with the Frievils has been long and complicated. Most of us started as friends from the old Arthur Murray’s Horizontal Mambo thread days (see MI & Purgatory). When the OT powers that be decided it was getting too much and the flames from those not involved got too crazy, we moved to a place called The Refuge. Others began posting at NPN concurrently with AM/The Refuge. Before you know it, the Frievils and SHP were born (more later on that).

Some of these former friends started pulling Frievilish games and basically cut out those who were not their new posting buddies. They kept a few of them close by and tossed away others. Hurt by the exclusion I left the boards. Upon my return I post at The Refuge and notice these old friends had threads of posters they miss most (See CSN in The Refuge) and my name was there a few times. Okay, perhaps all is not so bad.

The Refuge was secondary to SHP so I posted there a few times. Oftentimes, I could not understand all the ‘inside jokes’, ‘cutesy sayings’ et al so I returned to OT. From OT I moved to TBD after the whole Postcard Skye blow out. It was a nice little place with good people. Soon it became a very nice community. It grew, more forums popped up, people were posting. It was all fun and relaxed.

One night over a couple glasses of wine chatting with a couple TBD regulars the conversation turned to the old AM days. I did post some recollections that did not sit well with some of the other old timers and was called out on it. Soon that call out became more and more heated. The TBD admins shut the thread down and told us to take it to OT. They didn’t want that drama. Unused to being told this is a viable alternative, those old AM’ers (now Frievils) demanded their opportunity to clarify their position. In an effort to quell the fight out of the way of the nice posts and posters, the TBD admins opened a new forum: The Bitch Board. Before you know it, the attempt to reconcile differences quickly grew to a dogpile. The bat signal was out.

Everything grew out of hand from there and nothing was accomplished except more hurt feelings, anger, and all over abuse. I moved out of TBD to let the board quiet down. If the Frievils wanted me, it would not be at the expense of the good people of the ‘verse.

The Bad Sister of the TBD board is Hell’s Kitchen. A place to bitch, complain, piss on the insanity of everything. Good place to hang out. Good friends there. Good place to hang my hat. There is a forum there called Splinterverse – a place to bitch about all things splinterish. Happily, I posted my disdain for the Bitch Board, dogpiles and all things Frievilish (and Bunghole-ish… they are connected in many ways).

Before you know it the Frievils and Bungholes show up en masse yet again. Surprise, surprise Aero and Baby (the frick and frack of the Frievils) holding the banner high for all things moral and right in the ‘verse. Demanding apologies, demanding respect, demanding whatever the hell they thought I owed them they were relentless. They weren’t the only ones. There were others demanding their pound of flesh from me (right Marty?) There was no way to combat all these people backing up their own lies, their own recollections, their own bullshit as just one person against all of them. I went silent.

Now, here’s a tip to let people think they ‘won’ is to go silent. Not only does it piss them off but it also buys you time to formulate other plans.

At this point it was a matter of letting it all go. Step away from the computer and just let them be. It was something that I’d have to think about and revenge is a dish best served cold. No rush. Time was on my side.

Little did I know that the time for revenge on the Frievils (and subsidiary Bungholes) was coming around faster than I anticipated.

Staying relatively silent but with my ear to the proverbial ground the rumblings were around that there were internal problems within the Frievils. They had kicked out a couple of their members who did not play Spoofs with them and didn’t want anything to do with them until after Spoofs if at all ever again. Feeling betrayed by their friends, these outcasts were not happy campers. The leaks were out. Passwords to secret forums swirled around the ‘verse. Their secrets were open to all who were in the loop. I was one of them.

How could I not resist going into the Frievil den of inequity and see what they had to say about me? Especially after all that happened. So I went, cautiously.

What was in there was astonishing. Not only the threads about me but also the threads and CSN’s on many of you in the ‘verse. (Many of you have been their pawns and minions by design, including you, UNGH).

Armed with this information I had to think about how to use it. Alone, I’m still vulnerable. I needed a powerful insider. However, I couldn’t let all this info slide through my fingers as the Frievil Empire was weakened.

Red the Mole was born.

Red was created as a diversionary tactic to spill some bits of info here and there to certain Frievils to let them know they are more vulnerable than they thought. And Red was created to stir up internal paranoia within their organization. Destruction from within. If the paranoia grew large enough, the fingers would point to each other, distrust would build and they would self-destruct without me having to expose anything. Perfect plan.

Along Came A Partner.

Eurytol saw one of my posts in OT, one of my subtle posts in OT that didn’t reveal everything but enough that the Frievils knew I had more information than they were comfortable with. Now, you must know Eury and I had been in a big fight in TBD during the whole crapola dogpiling time. People new there was bad blood between us. And nothing had been posted to clear that bad blood. As far as anyone knew we still hated each other. Eury wanted confirmation on my post in OT. I told her to PM me and so she did.

The Plan Was Hatched.

It was during this conversation that Eury and I came together. The perfect unlikely pair uniting to take down one of the most arrogant, hypocritical, fucked up bunch in the ‘verse. We began recruiting very carefully, gathering information, comparing notes, and sharing Red the Mole.

It didn’t take much for Red to start the in-fighting among the Frievils. First, I chose the quietest, most skittish and most dramatic posters to target in PMs. The messages were deliberately written to confuse and to point internally that there are 3 inside among them who cannot be trusted. (An echo to the 3 Must Die of the Chews). Before you know it these ‘weaker’ Frievils were looking at the louder ones and distrusting them. The paranoia grew and grew. The fingers started pointing at one poster in particular. Internal combustion was happening with less than 10 PMs. Perfect.

During this time, the Frievils were scrambling. Who’s Red? What do they do about Spoof? Who’s quitting now because of the paranoia? The admins were scrambling. Sensy threads were moved out of the Crapper (too late), board lockdown (MBA only), yet the leaks were still there. They couldn’t figure it out.

The Frievils quit Spoofs not because they had won last year, but because their internal struggles were so great that they could not focus. Victory #1 for us.

This is not enough. We wanted to absolutely destroy the Frievil Empire for all it’s wrath they have scattered around the ‘verse, against other posters, against those they did not like, and specifically against me. There was still work to be done.

More PMs from Red went out this time to some of the more senior Frievils. Since Red is a shared ghost, the voices, the tone and messages were different each time. Paranoia was now at a fevered pitch.

SHP is up for board renewal. A vote went out. Slimey is tired. The vote comes in as the majority wants it down. Slimey posts a goodbye and closes all the forums but one. Victory #2.

It is not done.

One more PM to Slimey from Red. She has another gate of hell to pass through. And this is it.

I really tried to stick up for you, Ziji, considering what all you had going on in RL. I even laid off of you. But the gloves are coming off now, Miss Bologna Cunt. Looks like you even managed to alienate 2man at the jail. That says a lot, doesn't it?
