Wait a minute here. Someone got cheered at Shea for dropping something on the field???? SIGN HIM UP ON THE METS NOW!!!
Seriously, Ricky, you will be missed. As a life-long Islanders fan, I always respected your game and heart. You did what no Ranger goalie could do in 54 years. You backstopped a champion. Best wishes for a happy retirement. Sorry to see you go like this.

He deserves it. As great as Giacomin was, he never brought a ring to MSG. Mikey did. And he was never anything but a class act, team player, and managed to win without playing lumberjack on opposing players' legs, like Billy Smith.
The quality of mercy is not strained, which explains the lumps.
