Stats From Last Nights Game
Mike Piazza tied a career-high with his second triple, equaling the two triples he had as a Dodgers rookie in 1993. ... Mark Guthrie extended his scoreless inning streak to a club season-high 16 1/3 innings. He has not permitted a run in 21 outings dating back to May 25. He has allowed only eight hits in that stretch. Guthrie has allowed only three of 27 inherited runners to score [89 percent] this year, stranding 20 runners and turning four others over. ... Alomar's two hits in the eighth marked the second time this year [Rey Ordonez did it in the ninth inning against Atlanta on April 6] a Met collected two hits in an inning.
