Station updates
Hello everyone. After reading through the past messages in the IDF forum, I've decided to make a new topic. There's already a "Ship updates" topic - is this a similar one - I don't know exactly. I'm one of the simmers on DS15, which is one of the stations in the fleet. There is only one new update: we acquired a new Chief Tactical Officer days ago in late May. Our CTO is Ensign S'Avok, this simmer is not new in the fleet however. We finally found a CTO after nearly going 3 months without one!
A general question here: why aren't their any station forums - there are at least two non-ship simms in IDF. Oh well, its nice to see all of these posts even though I haven't seen any specifically for or about DS15 from the fellow simmers from DS15 in any of the past messages. I suppose none of them are using the forum yet.

I've been thinking for a little while now that we might want to set up a section in the Forum for DS15, like some of the ships have. I figure it might be useful for discussions on the current mission or personal storylines so that we don't end up in another mess like the last couple.

Re: Decent idea
Yes we should have something like that set up. We could discuss potential storylines before they even come into the sim, especially if it concerns up coming CD . . . it would also make the missions run alot smoother. Too bad I don't see other people from the sim on the forum. Maybe we could post an OOC message and tell them to check it out once more.
Re: Station updates
This is to update the rest of the fleet on the latest news from DS15. We currently have three vacancies in our crew manifest because two simmers departed last month. Sadly the character Lt. Savai N'Gellin was killed in action - he was DS15's former Chief of Security. A civilian character named Kris Wolfgang left the sim also.
The other senior vacancies left are the Counselor position as well as the position for Chief Intelligence Officer. We have several assistant positions also available too, excluding assistants for the XO, CMO, and CEO.
Considering DS15 is a space station - we also have an endless amount of civilian positions open as well.
There have been recent promotions that are yet to be incorporated within the sim IC as well. Our CO, Victoria Concord is now a Captain. Our XO, Mira Rodale is now a full Commander. Our CCO, Leeta Gill (my character) is now a full Lieutenant.

Station Crew Openings Corrected
Actually, we've always had an assistant to the XO, that would be Nayla, our CSciO/AXO.
And the Counselor position was just filled, I believe.
However, we do still have Chief Security open, as well as all other Assistants (Sci, Sec, Eng, Med, Tac, Comm, Intel), and a bunch of whatever other positions or civilians a player might want (Fighter Squadron CO or member, Marine positions, and oh could we use a diplomatic officer!)
Thanks for putting up that notice Leeta. We really do need more crew members. Not as many as the GWB needs (and I will happily hold out on getting more for us if it means the GWB, or even the Pat, get the crew they really need first), but a couple to balence things out on DS15 would be very helpful.
Station Crew Update
Today we've just added a new officer to our crew.
We have just added our second CIO in our sim's history to DS15. He is Lieutenant Bryce Shumar, our newest addition to our crew. While we welcome Bryce to our crew, and sim we do have a mission to continue. And as VC, my CO noted in her last message - she and I now feel that while it is nice for us to gain new simmers, other not so fortunate sims in our fleet such as the GWB and the Pat need them and . . . we wish that they get them, the sooner the better. This noted however - I would like to welcome Lt. Shumar to DS15.
By the way, our new counselor is Ensign Michael St. Martin. That all said all other previously mentioned CSecOfficer, Assistant and civilan positions are still avaliable - while at the same time applicants are encouraged to consider applying for other more needy sims within the fleet before thinking of joining with us at DS15.

Re: Station Crew Update
Yesterday there has been an update at SB10 when a couple officers joined the crew:
Ensign Ann Readdy. She is SB10's Assistant Security Officer and has transfered from the USSC.
Lt. J. G. Willow Bristow. She is SB10's new Counselor. She is also my new alter ego/PC. I created her for an independent sim and have just had her transfer into the IDF via SB10.
I guess we'll see how these additions effect SB10 in the future.

Re: Station Crew Update
A small update to report relating to SB10 . . . new personnel.
We have a new AMO - Lt. Taylor Castle. We also have a new ATO - Ensign Benja. Benja hasn't posted yet and doesn't have a bio either - don't ask me what's up with that. Castle has posted once since joining a couple days ago. They both have email addresses posted under SB10's crew manifest on the main Angelfire home page.
Otherwise everything seems to be going well on SB10 . . . in regards to the mission. I guess most of you will have to wait until mid August to read up an update on our current mission (as of August 5th). My character wasn't mentioned much prior to the awards being issued since I only posted once before the nominations were announced. All's well that ends well.
Lt. J. G. Willow Bristow - Counselor - SB10

Re: Station Crew Update
Hello just a small update about DS15's crew. Our current CIO, Lt. Bryce Shumar is leaving DS15. He is being transfered over to the W. Good bye Bryce and good luck on the W!
Our crew at this base is doing well for the most part. We're finishing our current mission and adding a few days of CD. By next weekend we'll be starting a JM with the GWB! Great simming takes place here.
Lt. (j. g.) Willow Bristow - C - SB10
and
Lt. Leeta Gill - CCO- DS15
This is kind of a back logged message for this column. But since I've been soooo busy these past (now) few weeks . . . I'll post it. A couple simmers/characters have joined SB 10 since I last posted here . . .
Sadly, I'm reporting a character leaving SB10. Brenda Valderi or as she is now known solely as Reah Santiago, is leaving SB10 as of today . . . as it was posted on SB10's yahoogroup website. The character has made her amends in post 1740 and has IC left the simm . . . a 'whole' person and has resolved her previous long-term CD storyline that she was working on beforehand.
Re: Station Crew's Update A little update from the IDF's only space station in the fleet, Starbase 10 of course, lol.
I'm reporting a crewmember's departure from SB10. Lt. j.g. Oliver Thornton, our Chief of Security is transfering out of the IDF. His character is transfering IC when our CO, Captain Nara Treniek ends the Valdera II mission.
Since our mission is just about over, I can announce that our Assistant Chief of Security Ensign Ann "80psi" Readdy will become our new Chief of Security once Thornton's transfer has gone through. Good bye Thornton and congratulations 80psi!
Re: Promotions
Since I'm currently only in one simm in the IDF ... I'll just refer my simm as the simm, which of course is SB10.
As I forcasted in my last message posted on November 2, there will be a promotion handed out on the simm. As of yesterday two promotions were issued to the character known as Ann "80psi" Readdy.
80psi was given the rank promotion of Lieutenant junior grade. In addition to that, she received the position promotion of Chief Security Officer.
That of course means that we have a new vacancy for Assistant Chief Security Officer on Starbase 10! The foresaid promotions as well as Thornton's (now former CRO) transfer into another fleet, have been updated regarding SB10's crew manifest.
Re: Promotions
Hello, I have a correction regarding 80psi's (Ann Readdy's) promotion(s) on Starbase 10.
She has been promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade. She is however the Acting Chief Security Officer ... she has not received a permanent promotion to Chief Security Officer.
I was made aware of this when SB10's nominations were announced a day after this month's IDF newsletter was published.
Re: Promotions/Arrival
Lt. j.g. Oliver Thornton has transfered back to SB10 after a really short stay in the Obsibian fleet. He is not our Chief Security Officer however ... he is now our Chief Diplomatic Officer.
This will ease some confusion when I say that Lt. j.g. Ann "80psi" Readdy is our Chief of Security.
Lt. Cmdr. Taylor WhiteEagle arrived on base a couple days after I posted in this column last month. She is our new CMO ... since our previous CMO, Lt. Tamera Uey was on LOA for months on end, which started before our CO took command of SB10. Captain Treniek tried contacting Uey, but didn't get a response, so she made WhiteEagle our CMO.
Sorry for the belated welcomes to WhiteEagle and Thornton.
Re: Deadline
Since SB10 hasn't been mentioned in anyway in the fleet newsletter I figure that I should post once more in this column.
Due to low posting numbers and low morale Admiral West and Vice Admiral Dragonetti arrived on base to guest simm during our current mission which began in December. I was on LOA for the last week of December for RL reasons ... which is when the mission was launched ....
Our mission began with the Admirals offering a posting incentive to all simmers: whomever posts the most during this mission will be offered a rank promotion.
I returned in January from my LOA. By then posting was still sluggish and it was almost halfway through January. We did have a mission running with the discovery of an Iconian gateway and the USS Patton (our support ship) getting stuck in the mirror universe ... and the Patton's mirrror universe getting stuck in ours. But several simmers were simply not posting and were on LOA .... The LOAs on base varied in duration from weeks to several months.
On February 4th Admiral West posted a very important post because it placed many characters in life/death situations ... and left a deadline for the simmers mentioned to post before Wed. February 11. West extended this deadline to this coming Sunday February 15th.
Some simmers mentioned who still haven't replied ... most are on LOA but some are not.
Those characters who are still threatened:
Lt. Thomas Turbo (Chief Sci Officer) - hanging off a ledge in the bowels of a Klingon ship in the mirror universe
Ensign Jenkins (Assist Sci Officer) - caught in a transporter project gone haywire
Lt. Jason Carter (CTO) - unwittingly poisoned by some nurse and needs immediate medical attention by a medical officer
Ensign Benja (ATO) - about to be murdered by some girl's jealous husband
Lt. j.g. Sarita (CEO) - about to be sucked in to open space via the hangar bay
Orion Tucker (WS) - About to be blown away by a plasma grenade
Lt. j.g. Thomas Kent (C Logistics O) - about to be drowned by a tidal wave in the holodeck without saftety protocols
and Captain Nara Treniek (CO) - getting flooded in one of the sauna's hottub compartments that is locked.
OTHER UPDATES SINCE DEADLINE
One simmer who was mentioned in West's post, Lt. Linkous Cruz (CIO) did post an exceptional post (according to myself and our CCO) to shake a few things up while saving his character in the process. I can't say whether or not the post will receive SB10's nomination for Best Story Post ... but it did do something for my morale. West did point out a technically involving where our Chief Security Officer, Lt. j.g. Ann "80psi" Readdy's position was in the mirror universe.
The outcome of the following posts is up for debate as some of us are upset. One simmer has quit SB10 because of it.
Departure:
Lt. Cmdr. Taylor WhiteEagle - CMO
I know that I don't sound all that angry or upset. But I am. I am sad and angry that Taylor has left us .... I was equally distressed at the prospect of watching other characters drop like flies ... or being eliminated. But then again I'm just a counsellor and do not have the responsibilities of being in Command.
Re: Deadline
Well I just forwarded my previous remarks to SB10's yahoogroups site with additional remarks.
I am close to leaving SB10 myself .... almost leaving.
I stated that much to the rest of the crew. I doubt the last mission will do much for morale now that Taylor has left us.
I'm planning to stay on SB10 for the next mission at least to ... I guess ride this one through. I do have loose ends on base to take care of if I do decide to leave in the coming months.
I'm getting depressed thinking about what's happened on SB10 since I came aboard in August and what's it's like over there now months later.
Re: Deadline
Now that the deadline has passed SB10 is getting ready to move on. All characters that were threatened where killed except Captain Treniek, who resigned her captaincy hours before the deadline.
On a happier note, the Admiralty did offer a promotion to the officer who they felt posted the most on base for this past mission.
Promotion: Our Chief Diplomatic Officer, Lt. j.g. Oliver Thornton is now a Full Lieutenant.
The DD of the SOD, Rear Admiral Darwin will be our Temporary CO until a permanent CO can be found.
Several positions are avaliable on base now that the inactive simmers have been removed:
Commanding Officer
CLO (logistics)
WS
CEO
CTO
Chief Science Officer
CMO
Nearly all asssistant positions ... except perhaps assistant counselor since it's filled in by a NPC ... or well ... nevermind.
Some civilian PCs would be nice too ...
The open positions page on the base's site is months out of date ... I suppose our XO, Lt. Colonel Blatheric will update it sooner or later once he has more reliable internet access.
