St Lucie Mets turn triple play
The St. Lucie Mets turned their first triple play in more than nine years on Thursday night in a 4-2 Florida State League victory over the Vero Beach Dodgers.
St. Lucie took a 3-1 lead into the top of the eighth inning, but Vero Beach scored a run and had runners at the corners against reliever Eddie Camacho.
Jimmy Rohan lined out to shortstop Wilson Batista, who tossed to third baseman Grant Psomas to double off Anthony Raglani. Psomas fired across to first baseman Andy Wilson, tripling up Edwin Bellorin.
The Mets' last triple play also came against the Dodgers on May 9, 1996.
