First off, I’d like to thank you for your thoughts on the series. The Virtual Seasons have been in production for almost two years, and I’d say only about a dozen people have provided feedback. Positive or negative, it's always welcome.
However, the only episode I’m sure that you’re referring to is the Season Three Premiere, New Beginnings. The idea of Stone and Ash conceiving a child together is not mentioned in the first thirteen episodes; neither is the idea of him developing his Hellish powers. However, I’d like to point out how many long running shows have strayed far from their first episodes. Off the top of my head, I remember a first season Homer Simpson pawning the family TV set to pay for therapy, and Daphne Moon from Fraiser constantly flaunting her psychic powers in the early days. If virtual seasons were limited to recycling what had been done before, they would be uninspired indeed.
You make references to storylines being ‘too cheesy’; if you have more specific feedback or suggestions about the different episodes, I invite you to contact the authors – it will be appreciated. Speaking only for myself, I’d never even COMPLETED a story of any significant length until penning ‘An Army of One’, I’d like to think that my writing has improved since then.
And there is the Brimstone first season itself. The thing that made me a fan for life was the episode ‘Ashes’, where Ash was first revealed as a damned. My awe for that story arc blinded me to some of the flaws in the first season, which are apparent to anyone who has watched it several times. Most notably, the date of Stone’s death changes several times through out the short run, as well as him paying $62.50 for a hotel room in the pilot, when he supposedly only starts out with $36.27 each day.
Thanks for taking the time to visit the site.
